We've been taking river adventures that last 4 years or so and now he has a bedtime story that he wanted to share on the show. We are going to hear about the Middle Yough, Slippery Rock and the Cassellman rivers. Our whitewater craft is a custom built Thrill Seeker by Attila Szilagyi owner of Custom Inflatables called the Double Happiness. It's a two man thrill seeker that we load down with two adults, two children and enough snacks to feed a small army. I do all the paddling and we usually push the limits of the craft and the whitewater we should be paddling. We are an outdoors family and we love being on the water together. Hello everyone, and welcome back if you’ve listened before and glad to have you if it’s your first time. I’m pleased to introduce Travis winters on this episode of Bedtime Stories 4 Paddlers. Travis is a beginning whitewater kayaker who moved to Fayette County PA to work at Touchstone Center for Crafts as the Programs Director and fell in love with boating on the Youghiogheny River. He’s also incredibly talented ceramic artist who went to Buffalo State College, got an MFA from Edinboro, which we share some common friends who also got their MFA’s there. His work is figurative, gestural, and always seems to arouse the narrative. His surfaces are voluptuous, attractive and always pull you in for a closer look. The work always beckons you to engage in the narrative and scratch your head and wonder. Going over to his house is like walking into a museum of modern art. He’s a cool guy and has a great wife who’s an art teacher in the Morgantown area. We are glad to have Travis in our town and can’t wait to do some more boating with this guy.
