    The Real Women of Substack

We are in day two of the Substack Challenge and there’s a few things I want to share with you because we have a phenomenal opportunity right now to get our work out on this platform, to be seen deeply for who we are, to be heard, to be paid. And yesterday...On day one of The Substack Challenge, we talked about why Substack isn’t just another platform. It’s a media home base instead. A place for women who are leading movements because together, when we join our movements together, the world will completely change. And that’s what I believe Substack is a catalyst. So I want you to consider today, what is your movement? What do you really stand for? What do you want to be known for? What will you use this amazing platform to create? The women who are paying attention to this opportunity where their voice matters are the ones leading the way. I’m all in.I hope you are too.PattiP.S. I’m putting together a 6 month mastermind for women to support one another here as they lead their movements. The "Take A Stand Flywheel"

If you feel like you’re always creating content but it’s not turning into clients, this is why. Most content is created in isolation. One post, then another, then another… with no connection between them and no clear path to paid work.In this episode, I break down the Take A Stand Flywheel and show you how one idea can be used across your Substack, social media, and email to create consistent visibility, real conversations, and client opportunities. You’ll learn how to:* build around one core idea each week* repurpose without repeating yourself* create content that leads somewhere* and use conversations to guide your next stepsThis is about working with what you already have and making it actually produce results. If you want to build this into your business, join me inside The Curate A Community Of Buyers Membership. That’s where we apply this in real time and turn your content into a system that brings in clients. Why Content Doesn't Bring Clients

You can show up consistently, share thoughtful ideas, and put real care into what you create, and still not see it lead to conversations or sales. What’s happeningWhen someone reads your content, they are trying to make sense of it in a very practical way. They’re asking themselves, even if they don’t realize it:* What does she actually do?* Is this for me?* How would this help me?If those answers aren’t clear, they don’t move forward. They move on.Why content alone doesn’t workContent gets attention. But attention by itself doesn’t create clients. What creates clients is clarity. When someone understands what you do and can see how it connects to them, that’s when a decision becomes possible.Without that, even strong content gets missed. The shift that changes your resultsWhen your work is set up in a way that makes it easy to understand, the experience is completely different. When your message is clear, people don’t just read and agree. They see themselves in what you’re saying, understand why it matters, and feel confident about the next step. That’s when they reach out. This is exactly what I’m teaching live this week inside:Turn Your Content Into ClientsIn this training, I walk through what actually needs to be in place for content to lead to clients, and why most people are missing this piece. If you’ve been showing up and not seeing it translate into real opportunities, this will help you see where the gap is.Let’s get your work clear enough that people understand it and choose to work with you.If that’s what you want, you can join here: This is a public episode. The Growth Strategy Behind Taking a Stand

Do People Know Within Seconds Who You Are?This is the question I want to start with, because it drives more of your results than most people realize. When someone lands on your profile, your page, or your content, do they know within seconds exactly who you are, who you serve, and why you?For most people, the answer is no. Their message isn’t specific or unmistakable enough to create that kind of clarity. And that lack of clarity is not a small issue. It is the thing shaping your results right now.Why Clarity Matters More Than VisibilityThe reason this matters so much is because of the environment we are operating in. Attention is the scarcest resource there is. Your ideal client is scrolling past hundreds of pieces of content every single day, and she is not stopping to figure out if you might be for her.She stops when something hits. She stops when something feels clear, direct, and relevant. That moment where she pauses and thinks, this is for me, I want to know more, only happens when your message is unmistakable. And that level of clarity comes from taking a stand on who you are and who you serve.Taking a Stand Is a Growth StrategyTaking a stand is often misunderstood as a branding exercise, something that makes your content sound better or more polished. But in reality, it is a business growth strategy. It determines who you attract, how quickly they recognize themselves, and whether they take the next step.At its core, it comes down to one distinction. A clear stand attracts buyers, and a vague positioning statement attracts browsers. That difference is what separates an audience that engages from an audience that converts. The Difference Between Browsers and BuyersA browser is someone who finds your content interesting. They might follow you, like your posts, or open your emails. They consume what you create because it is valuable, but nothing you are saying is speaking directly to their situation or identity in a way that compels action.A buyer has a completely different experience. When they land on your content, they feel found. They do not just feel interested. They feel recognized. It feels like you are speaking directly to them and their situation, and they begin to imagine what it would be like to work with you. That feeling of recognition is what a clear stand creates. It is the difference between growing an audience and converting that audience into clients. What Actually Moves the NeedleWhen I look back at my own business and the growth I have created over the years, the pattern is clear. Every time I became more specific, more direct, and more willing to say exactly who I was for, my results improved. It felt counterintuitive at the time. It always does. There is a natural tendency to want to stay broad so you can reach more people. But in practice, the opposite is what works. The more specific and clear you are, the more powerful your message becomes. The Three Elements of a Stand That ConvertsThere are three elements I focus on with my clients when we build a stand that actually functions as a growth strategy. Each one plays a role in how your message lands. The first is your values. Not the surface-level story of how you got here, but the deeper reason behind your work. What you believe, what you stand for, and why this work matters to you. When you look at all the ways you could make money, why did you choose this?Your values are your platform. They shape your perspective and give your message depth. When your positioning is built on what you actually believe, it no longer feels like a strategy. It feels like an expression of who you are, and that is what creates connection. Why Values Create RecognitionFor me, this work came from a very real place. I was a single mom with four kids, and I held a strong belief that women should be able to make money, build something meaningful, and raise their children without shrinking or waiting for permission. That belief is still underneath everything I teach. My core values are freedom and self-expression, and my work is built around helping women create freedom by expressing who they are. The women who are meant to work with me can feel that immediately. There is nothing to convince, because they already recognize themselves in it.The Power of SpecificityThe second element is knowing exactly who you are speaking to. Not a general audience or a broad demographic, but a real person at a specific point in their journey. When you can describe her experience, her frustration, and what she is navigating, she feels seen. The more specific you are, the easier it is for the right person to recognize herself in your message. And that recognition is what creates movement. A woman who feels found is much more likely to take the next step. Why Conviction Changes EverythingThe third element is conviction. You can have the right message, but if you soften it or qualify it, it loses its power. Taking a stand means saying what you believe in the way you actually believe it.This is where many women hesitate. They worry about being too direct, too specific, or too polarizing. But that directness is exactly what your buyer is looking for. She is tired of vague messaging and is drawn to someone who speaks clearly and confidently. What Happens When You Bring It All TogetherWhen these three elements come together, everything shifts. Your content becomes easier to create because you are no longer trying to figure out what to say. You are expressing something you already know to be true.Your conversations with potential clients become more natural because you are not trying to convince anyone. You are simply describing your work and allowing the right people to step forward. And your sales begin to move because the people entering those conversations already feel a sense of alignment before the conversation even starts. Why This Is the Most Efficient Strategy You HaveTaking a stand is not just about feeling more aligned in your business. It is one of the most efficient ways to grow. It acts as a filter, bringing the right people in and allowing others to self-select out.Over time, it compounds. Each piece of content builds a clearer position in your market, making it easier for people to recognize you and what you stand for. Instead of attracting general attention, you begin attracting the right attention.Your Next StepIf this is something you are ready to work on, this is exactly what we will be focusing on next. We will look at where your message is unclear, where you may be softening your position, and how to build your stand from a place that feels true. From there, we will refine how you express it so it lands with clarity and conviction. This is the work that allows people to find you, recognize themselves in your message, and move forward with confidence. If you are already inside, I will see you there. If not, this is a powerful time to step into it and start doing this work in a deeper way. This is a public episode.
