Episode 25 - Love Was Never Supposed to Be Enough

In a world where we are constantly fed an idea of what love is and should be, we are surrounded by unsurprising heartbreak. There seems to almost be an mismatch of what we expect love to be like compared to how it truly plays out. On this episode, I explore the differences between what love is vs what it isn't. Why love is both overrated AND the best thing a human can experience, and if we can just understand it better, why it can lead us to a better life of romance and happiness with someone you can call your forever.

  2. 24

    Episode 24 - Anxiety

Another beautiful day for some serious-unserious, as I invite you all along through my solo ramble about one of the largest topics in mental health and the way I manage it and the role it's played in my life up until now. I have no idea how this episode will be received but as always the dream is that someone gets something beneficial from it. Life always has it's ways of showing it's difficulties and the toughest decisions in life revolve around being vulnerable enough to conquer them. I hope you guys like this one, I really enjoyed making it. Would love to hear your thoughts this time around, and as always, see you on the next one!

    Episode 23 - Who Cabo'd My Wabo?

IT FEELS GOOD TO BE BACK! Hello beautiful faces, happy Wednesday, I missed you all so much. As many of you know I was out of the country this past week for a wedding in Mexico, and funny enough that exact trip made for a great episode! I had Dyl sit down with me and do a good ol story time of the trip and what stood out to us. I haven't really done an episode in this style yet so I would love to know if it works for you guys and maybe we will do more future episodes like it! I enjoy having the relaxed format with this project to test out what works and see what I like! Besides all that we are taking aim to get back into the swing of regularly scheduled episodes so stay tuned. Catch y'all next week :)

Episode 22 - The Block Is Hotz!

Today's guest is what you get when you wrap a lawyer, political commentator, and musical artist all into one! Everyone meet Jordan aka J-Hotz aka Patriot J aka your midwest uncle's favorite black guy on twitter. Hotz has been a friend of mine for years and someone I enjoy sitting down with to discuss similarities over differences. We share a lot of the same outlooks on life and values and he gives his unique perspective to the table thanks to the many walks of life he finds himself in! I had a great time having a fruitful dialogue with him and I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did. Thank you as always for listening and being here and I will catch you again next week!

  5. 21

    Episode 21 - All Disrespect

Donavan Ransom in the flesh ladies and gentlemen! Dom is an incredibly talented rap artist straight out of my hometown and has been a great friend of mine that I have wanted to have on since I started this podcast - and we finally did it. He is one of the best creatives I know personally and somehow only gets better with time. I have been dying to have him talk about his journey and where he is headed and why so many people support him. It was great getting some insight into his creative process and his motivation for greatness is contagious. I hope you guys enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed talking to him, this was easily one of my favorite episodes. As always thank you all for being here and catch you next week :)

  6. 20

Episode 20 - How Do I Say This?

Happy Tuesday my beautiful people, today's topic on my mindless monologue is the conversation around how we speak to others and our selves. I believe the way we word things matters and it seems to be a dying art. Nowadays people tend to speak unfiltered and take pride in it and I think there is a lot to be gained by being tactful and purposeful with the way we speak and the words we use, and now more than ever you can be one of the few people to stand out from the crowd. It affects our identity, society, and even soaks into others subconscious in a meaningful way, and I share my personal perspective on it all. I hope you enjoy and have a lovely week, catch you next time :)

Episode 19 - Gen Z to Boomer Pipeline

Hello everyone thank you for being so patient and waiting a full day for me this week! Happy Wednesday, hope you're doing well, this episode I run solo as I still figure out this whole video thing! I wanted to speak specifically on how lately I have been feeling like adult-life and all it brings (as well as social media nowadays) is what actively contributes to the rigidity of ones brain and opinions, perhaps even more so than aging itself. I flesh out how I want to be an adult who is still constantly learning and pursuing knowledge with an open mind, and I share some of the things in life that seem to make that feel more challenging than I maybe have realized, and how the great thing that caused me to understand all this was talking to young people. Hopefully, this is relatable and perhaps provides some solace to some of you out there :)As always have a great week and see you next time! Hopefully with an even better quality episode!

Episode 18 - Croquet Cruises & Paul Wall

Hello everyone, if you haven't noticed WE HAVE VIDEO! (Right now it's only on Youtube!)I am so excited to present to you the first ever episode of Unserious University you can actually watch, featuring none other than, Joel Bond himself. We shoot the shit for an easy couple of hours as we dive into a multitude of topics. This episode is my first time using this setup, this software, this upload process, so please let me know what you guys think, what you like/don't like, and where I need to put some of my focus. As always, your guys support means the world to me and is why we even got here in the first place, thank you never properly conveys how I feel but I say it anyway, THANK YOU :)Hopefully this was enjoyable for you guys, we're going to attempt to do it all again next week! See ya <3

  9. 17

Episode 17 - What Color Is Tuesday?

Welcome home friends, Maya sits down with me again and we think out loud together about romanticizing the little things in life, how you would raise a kid if you were rich, and why she loves using photography to capture her beautiful moments rather than self-imposing perfection. We laugh a lot, and talk about the catharsis of crying, and I had an absolute ball. In the beginning we were going over some "would you rather's" to warm up for the episode but they were fun so I left them in, and I hope you guys enjoy the initial dynamic lol. As always, thank you for being here, happy tuesday, have a great week, and see you next time :)

  10. 16

Episode 16 - Is the "Shortcoming" in the Room With Us Right Now?

Hi friends, today I treat the beginning of this episode almost like a little journal as I get slightly vulnerable and authentic about some of my personal mental roadblocks in areas I feel like I am falling short, then use that to springboard into the conversation of what matters in life, how your identity is tied to it all, and why I feel like today's day and age has absolutely destroyed my metric for what progress and success feels like. My goal with this episode was to make you think a little and hopefully make the people out there who relate to me feel a bit less alone. Thank you for listening as always and have a great week :)

  11. 15

Episode 15 - Is Regret Even Necessary?

Hi friends todays topic of choice is regret! I dive into why I feel like I live a life that lacks any hard regrets and why I feel like that is feasible for anyone. I get a little into a traumatic childhood experience I had and how my stance on regrets relates to it, and how it relates to other more preventable situations. I dare to question whether or not regret itself is necessary and if it's healthy to live without it entirely and what it means to say "if I could go back and change this." I hope you guys find some value in this or perhaps it makes you view certain past experiences differently and as always thank you so much for listening :) Have a great week!!

  12. 14

Episode 14 - If The "Free Bird" Guitar Solo Was A Dude

We're switchin' things up today as I was blessed by the presence of a good buddy of mine, Jesse Ortega, as he gives us a wild look into what his everyday life is like as a recon marine, firefighter, and super-dad. We discuss the Palisades fire, skydiving, internet trolls, and more. Jesse is one of the nicest guys I know with a full plate and a half, and he does it all with a smile on his face! He is someone who I know can be an inspiration for others and one of the people who works his ass off to make sure the world we live in is safe. I really hope you all enjoy and let me know if this style of episode was something you guys would want more of! Happy Tuesday, hope y'all have a great week :)

  13. 13

Episode 13 - Boys to Men

Hello everyone welcome back, in this episode I speak on something I have been wanting to talk about for a little bit now: masculinity. I think we are in a bit of a weird space culturally and feel like I have a decent understanding as to why, and I try to do my best to paint the overarching themes that I feel have been at play for the last decade or two. Should men feel proud about being manly? At what point is masculinity toxic? How is Andrew Tate famous despite being a horrible person? I do my best at these questions, and I hope it makes for an insightful and entertaining listen, for both my male and female listeners. As always thank you so much for listening to me ramble, see y'all next week :)

  14. 12

Episode 12 - Ask and Ye Shall Receive

Welcome to our first ever little Q&A episode! I have Dyl sit down with me and we take some questions from y'all peeps on a wiiiiiide variety of topics and honestly it was a blast! This definitely wasn't the normal format for episodes but I definitely will be periodically doing these in the future because of how much fun I had with them. Would love to know what you guys think and hopefully the people who submitted questions got all they wanted and more from our responses! Thank you all for being so involved with this little project of mine and we will see you again next week :)

  15. 11

    Episode 11 - Down With The Ick-ness

Hello peeps, we are back and I would like you to meet one of my closest friends Maya, as we hop into the topic of icks. What are they, why we get them, which ones we think are justified, and all minute details in between. For all the guys out there, if you want a woman's perspective on what immediately takes you out of the running, here you go LOL. However, outside of that we dive deeper, discussing where these things originate within our own psyche and the bigger picture about attractiveness and even beauty. I hope you enjoy and get something out of it, and as always thank you for spending a little bit of your week with me and my fav people :)

  16. 10

Episode 10 - So I Hear You Want Friends

Do YOU have the balls to tell your friends you love them? I go solo and lay out the case that I think you should consistently remind people that they are special and why it is so important. The best relationships in my life are directly correlated with how vulnerable I am willing to get with them, and as long as you're with people who are loving, opening up will never steer you wrong. It's my secret sauce to fooling the gems in my life to stick around ;)If you're reading this, thank you for being here for my first 10 episodes! This is a meaningful personal milestone for me and I am looking forward to the many that come after <3

    Episode 8 - Grey's Anatomy Is Overrated

Happy Tuesday friends, today we have on a ball of sunshine who goes by Chloe! A big thank you to her for sittin down with me for this one. She is an emergency room nurse, and is someone I have been looking forward to hearing give her perspective on what that job is even like on a day to day. Thanks to her, this episode is chalked full of gold nuggets that I think y'all will enjoy.  Would you be able to spot a heroine addict? Should murderers get a second chance? Would you love me if I had no limbs? Worry not, these questions are answered and more. Hope you all have a great Tuesday and an even better week! Catch ya next time <3

  18. 8

Episode 7 - Zeal and Fervor

Happy Tuesday, loved ones! Today we sit down with my youngest brother Noah, and talk about ambitiously looking towards the future with success on your mind. I feel like last episode about wisdom and reminiscing pairs up well with this weeks style of thinking about the vast potential of what you can make of your future. Noah is 19 years old and has a passion for making sure he gets what he wants, no matter how much work it takes. I have always felt he was always mature for his age but it is nice to talk to him as a fellow adult and trade ideas. I hope you gain some inspiration from this episode and maybe find areas in your life you're excited to change for the better. As always, have a fantastic week, love y'all, catch you next time!

  19. 7

Episode 6 - Words of Wisdom

Pop a squat alongside me as we do more listening and less talking. I give my Nana (Ruth Perkins) the floor as she delves into her 93 years of life, and all the lessons she has learned along the way. This was such a unique and fun episode for me and I loved every minute of it. I appreciate that I can still do this with her and will look back on this special moment for the rest of my days, and I feel honored that I get to share it with anyone willing to listen. Thank you for being here, hope you guys like this one, enjoy your week, and catch you all next time :)

  20. 6

    Episode 5 - Brain Rot & AI

This weeks guest is one of my best friends Dylan Jones! If you know me there's a good chance you also know him! Disclaimer, we kind of just hit record and figured it out so I actually wasn't planning on the beginning being published, it's purely organic. This time around you get a little bit of us goofin off about the world through our chronically online lenses, and how it's only going to get weirder. I had an absolute blast making this one so I really hope you guys have fun with it. See y'all next week, love ya! :)

  21. 5

    Episode 4 - Learning

Happy 2025 everyone, it's good to be back! First episode of the year and WE HAVE A GUEST!!! Everyone welcome my good friend Sean Basham. We sit down and have a nice chat about what it means to fall in love with learning outside of a school setting, how it changes your views of yourself, and why anyone can be smart. Thank you all for listening, hope your holiday break was filled with good people and good memories, see you next week!:)

  22. 4

    Episode 3 - Money

Come along with me as I dissect money and it's importance. Why do athletes make so much while most jobs don't? Where should money even be stored away? Why do we even want to make more of it? I try my best to answer these questions and more.

  23. 3

    Episode 2 - Confidence

Going solo yet again, I dive into what I think it means to have healthy self esteem, how I believe confidence is a skill you hone with practice and the many pro's and con's that come with a variety of confidence levels (both good and bad).I hope you enjoy, thank you for spending a part of your day with me, and I hope you get something of value from this :)Feedback is always welcome, I'm a DM away!

    Episode 1 - Optimism

On the first full length episode, I go solo yet again to make the case that we all can be, and should be, optimistic in life. I break down the importance of seeking proper truth, having the right mindsets to even be optimistic, why advances in several different technologies are inching us closer to prosperity.I appreciate your guys patience with me getting my bearings in the beginning and I welcome any and all feedback!Love y'all <3
