    Punisher

Thank you to everyone who listened and supported us on our first season of Unshuffled! We decided that for our season finale, we would choose an album that is special to all four of us: Punisher by Phoebe Bridgers. In this episode, we talk about each track and why this record is so meaningful to us. Please enjoy us fangirling over Phoebe, her melancholy lyrics, incredible storytelling, and insane production.

    For Emma, Forever Ago

This week’s episode is Leah’s pick: For Emma, Forever Ago by Bon Iver. This classic indie folk record will transport you right to a cabin in the woods, mirroring the setting where it was written and recorded. The layered vocals are particularly mesmerizing and create this band’s distinct sound. Enjoy this season’s penultimate episode!

    Woman on the Internet

This week's album is Raelyn's pick: Woman on the Internet by Orla Gartland. In her debut album, Orla combines unique musical compositions with lyrics and themes relating to anxiety, jealousy, and growing up. The entire album is one big ode to the coming of age experience and stepping into adulthood - whether you're ready to or not. This album has songs to dance to, cry to, and scream to, so it's perfect for whatever mood you're in. We loved this one immensely and hope you will too!

    Saint Cloud

This week’s album is Sarah’s pick: Saint Cloud by Waxahatchee. Katie Crutchfield’s honest lyrics about her journey with sobriety, love, and healing are backed by bright instrumentals to make an record perfect for the summer!

    Capacity

This week's album is Andrea's pick: Capacity by Big Thief. If you liked our first episode, Hours Were the Birds, you'll love this record, which tells many intimate stories from Adrianne Lenker's memory. The style ranges from upbeat folk rock to delicate acoustic, making it very easy to stay engaged throughout the album. Prepare for a deeply introspective experience and enjoy this week's episode!

    Death of a Cheerleader

This week's album is Leah's pick: Death of a Cheerleader by Pom Pom Squad. They use a super unique blend of punk and retro pop to create a very well-rounded and engaging record. The original songwriting perfectly captures the angst of being a queer person falling into and out of love, and we loved their spin on a few covers as well. Whatever your music taste is, you will find a song to enjoy!

  7. 8

    Collapsed In Sunbeams

This week’s album is Raelyn’s pick: Collapsed In Sunbeams by Arlo Parks. She incorporates spoken word poetry into several songs and uses rich storytelling throughout the album. Get ready for summer with us with this warm and introspective record!

    Any Shape You Take

This week we listened to Sarah’s pick: Any Shape You Take by Indigo De Souza. This grungy alternative rock album has a very unique sound, bringing something new to each song. We loved the emotion and catharsis she expressed throughout the album and we hope you enjoy it too!

I Never Loved a Man the Way I Love You

This week, we are jumping back to 1967 to talk about Andrea's pick: I Never Loved a Man the Way I Love You by Aretha Franklin. This album is ranked #13 on Rolling Stone's Greatest Albums of All Time and we can definitely see why! Staying true to her title of the "Queen of Soul," Aretha will blow you away with powerful vocals in every single song. She mixes in gospel and R&B influences while taking pride and power in her identity. Enjoy listening to this revolutionary album!

  10. 5

    Space Girl

In our fourth episode, we are talking about Leah's pick: Space Girl by Reliably Bad. The debut album from this eight-piece funk-pop band is full of brilliant instrumentals and infectious melodies. At under 30 minutes, Space Girl is short but sweet, but you won't be able to sit still while listening. We hope this album and this episode brighten your day!

  11. 4

    Feeding Seahorses By Hand

In our third episode, we are discussing Raelyn's pick: Feeding Seahorses By Hand, which is Billie Marten's second studio album. Raelyn is the biggest Billie Marten enthusiast in the world, and this is probably her favorite album of all time, so we were thrilled to talk about it this week! You'll be drawn in by the stripped-down, delicate guitar work and intimate lyricism that shines throughout the whole album.

  12. 3

    Evergreen

In our second episode, we are talking about Sarah’s pick: Evergreen by BROODS! Evergreen is one of the first albums Sarah ever became obsessed with. This indie pop album is full of bright synths and will take you right back to 2014.

  13. 2

    Hours Were the Birds

In our first full episode, we are discussing Adrianne Lenker's album: Hours Were the Birds. This is Andrea's pick and one of her favorite albums of all time. It is so easy to fall in love with this album, which is full of imagery and storytelling, intricate guitar music, and themes of longing for love and connectedness. We hope you all enjoy this acoustic folk album as much as we did!
