Untold Stories: The Beginning
Welcome to the beginning of my journey in uncovering the history of the land on Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge! Follow along with me as we take a deep dive into the cemeteries that remain on the property and the church/school that were once on this land. In this episode, I mentioned that there was only 1 headstone at the St. Timothy Cemetery, but there are technically 3. Only 1 is legible and the other 2 are the bottom pieces of slab of a headstone. Bufferin has 10 headstones, while all are not completely legible. Peppers, L. (2005a) Ouachita County Louisiana Archives Cemeteries.....Bufferin Cemetery - Complete Survey, USGENWEB Archives.
