    Episode 3 - Queer Futures... and an interview with Jye Bryant

    In episode three, Alex and Kayla discuss the future of queerness in Western Sydney. Is the future bright? What are the challenges? Can community be an act of protest in and of itself? Kayla discusses her femme identity and Alex, their new theatre work: 'The Dinner Play'. They also interview Jye Bryant. Jye is a Musical Theatre Composer, Lyricist and Author.     Episode 2 - Enigma and Whimsy... and an interview with Mohammad Awad (3awadi)

    In the second episode of this season, Alex and Kayla interview Mohammad Awad (3awadi).Mohammad Awad (AKA 3AWADI) is a Queer/Arab/Muslim award-winning Writer, Director, Poet, Playwright, and Musician who’s running out of ways to express himself. Honoured as Australia's National Youth Poetry Champion, they are one of the proud editors/authors of the award-winning poetry collection Admissions. A development/showcase of Mohammad’s play Harami debuted at Sydney Theatre Company. Mohammad’s latest film Bikes premiered at the Sydney Opera House, with their upcoming film Inheritance winning the national QueerScreen 2024 Pitch-Off, and their first feature Rearranged in development with Invention Studios.A NSW State finalist in the Australian Poetry Slam, Mohammad has also been honoured as Australia's National Youth Poetry Champion. They have featured in the Sydney Writers' Festival, Sydney Opera House, Sydney Mardi Gras and World Pride, the Art Gallery of NSW, The ICC, The Iconic West Ball, Big Thick Energy, Sydney Living Museums - After Dark, Out for Australia's 30 Under 30, The Vanguard, and Giant Dwarf Theatre.     Episode 1 - Queerness Is... and an interview with Omar Sakr

    Queerness, activism, and art. This season, meet Kayla Hill (she/her) and Alex Trezona (they/them), two amazing queer voices from Western Sydney. Across three episodes, they’ll explore how this cultural moment has shaped them as young queer people. They’ll wax lyrical about queer liberation, queer thriving in Western Sydney, and why building community is its own kind of activism.In this first episode meet Alex and Kayla as they introduce themselves and ruminate on the nature of queerness. After a short introduction they interview esteemed poet and novelist, Omar Sakr.Omar Sakr is an award-winning poet, novelist, and essayist, raised in Liverpool to Arab and Turkish Muslim migrants. He is the acclaimed author of a novel, Son of Sin and three poetry collections, notably The Lost Arabs, which won the 2020 Prime Minister’s Literary Award.
