What does it mean to truly see yourself in a video game? In this episode, we’re getting into the politics of play and why so many character creators still fall short — from vague diversity to limited hair textures and identity-lite sliders. We talk about the baddie avatars in some of our favorite games, the customization we still wish existed, and what we’d create if we had full control of the narrative and mechanics in games.

Whether it's an indie gem or a huge AAA title, sometimes games hit you with feelings when you were just trying to relax. This episode is all about the emotional blindsides and soft spots — from found family narratives to non-homogenous identity-coded characters.

From The Sims to Minecraft to any other Simulation game (Grocery, Farming, etc), this episode is about how we feel deep joy of creating messes (and sometimes cleaning them up). Each cohosts talks about how build/creation games feed their inner control freak or cozy gremlin.
