Voices Across the Border

Voices Across the Border aims to create empathy and understanding for individuals and communities impacted by immigration and border issues. By centering the voices of those directly affected, students will gain a more nuanced and compassionate view of these issues. Through hearing these stories, students will develop critical thinking and conflict resolution skills that will allow them to engage in constructive conversations about these issues and create positive change.

    The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

    In this episode, we are joined by Ghadi, a Palestinian Citizen of Israel; Yuval, an Israeli, and Kellen; and American. Listen to them engage in a thought-provoking discussion about the history of the Palestinian/Israeli conflict and its connection to immigration. They explore key historical facts, such as the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948, the displacement of Palestinian refugees, and the ongoing territorial disputes.     The Psychological Experience of Immigration (Part 4: Sudan)

Awan was just a young boy when he fled his village in southern Sudan, along with tens of thousands of other children who would become known as the Lost Boys. After years of living in refugee camps and enduring unimaginable hardship, Awan was resettled in the United States and has since dedicated his life to helping others who have faced similar struggles. He reflects on his experience immigrating to unfamiliar areas of the world and what the process meant to him.
