We Could Be Watching

We Could Be Watching explores the wonderful possibility of free will through the lens of deciding to usually not watch the show this podcast was ostensibly created for. Every episode our hosts Shane and Sanga cover one episode of their "backup" show, Lexx, and then decide if they watch an episode of Stargate SG-1 or simply choose from the nearly unlimited amount of other things to cover instead! Is it a Stargate podcast focused on watching anything other than Stargate? Is it a Lexx podcast with an anti-Stargate grudge? Is it secretly just sort of a variety hour, like that of the Star Wars Holiday Special? Either way we hope you have a fun time listening! We Could Be Airplane Modeing

A great evil has been unleashed. A nightmare dream of modern influencers loosely inspired by a beloved 1950's comedy films. We Could Be Watching.....We Should Be Watching??? Should Anyone? Also a pretty good Lexx episode for once wow they managed to capture early TNG episodes. Despite what I said in the podcast I'll wait till we do a Dahir Insaat episode before I bother linking it here. You can email us at [email protected]. Hosted on Acast. We Could Be Fish Wife Guying

It's Slasher time on the Lexx! It's not a bad time except for my own genre proclivities I suppose. They're sort of trying for this one a little bit? Maybe this was a bad time to talk about our favorite sci fi episodes at the start. Sorry Wake the Dead you're no Living Witness. You're not even Meld. Now that was a good serial killer Sci Fi episode. The X-Files one where they get the Chucky guy to be the killer wasn't bad either I suppose. Anyway we also watch one of my favorite SG-1 episodes of all time that manages to combine character work, themes, and absurd sci fi concepts in a way you would think might be more common than like twice a season for a science fiction show? Anyway this episode I come unprepared and have to make a choice under pressure....a choice that Sanga will pay dearly for...You can email us at [email protected]. Hosted on Acast. We Could Be Will To Provoking

Very short ep and I didn't even audio truncate this one! Well, we find a spectacular lack of things to talk about with Lexx and you know, it's hard to find stuff to say about anarchist art projects. I did rewatch some of it and missed one of the guys complaining about the social safety net so you know. Potentially like 45 minutes of podcasting left on the table there, sorry about that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zP9itybQ16AYou can email us at [email protected]. Hosted on Acast. We Could Be Protecting

It's a good thing this is a not-Stargate show and not a Lexx show. Because if it were a Lexx show, we would be at a real crisis as it becomes more and more apparent that the show has somehow run out of fumes. But look, you don't have to watch Lexx. You Could Be Watching(tm) The Protector, a martial arts movie that kicks ass with some of the single best action scenes ever done. More importantly than all of that: In this episode, Sanga makes a FATAL MISTAKE THAT WILL HAUNT HIM FOR ALL TIME. You can email us at [email protected]. Hosted on Acast. We Could Be Renaissancing

Not a great week for our selection of things we are watching necessarily, but a pretty good week for the podcast itself I think! Lexx is at it's absolute craven laziest and we struggle to say much about it, but have much more to say about the slightly uplifting military propaganda piece of Renaissance Man. I think I would like to see Ghiaccio teach a class of kids. That's what Araki should be working on as a spin-off instead of those Rohan things. Ghiaccio needs to reach the children. We Could Be Look Backing

Hello! Technically this is a day late, but also technically we don't have a real episode day date, so I would like to say our normal release date is Sunday and I am simply consistently very early. Anyway this episode we deal with an incredible achievement (making a deeply mid court episode) and then something that made Sanga cry with it's beauty. So, you know, lots of great things happening all around. I was also deeply tired during this one due to the power of Australian time zones and Daylight Savings so sorry if I sound that way! Also, I experimented/got a little self conscious about the opening so I have debuted a more reasonable shorter version. It is really funny to have that much of the Enterprise theme song in there but this probably makes more sense. Here's the weird Legoland video if you're curious: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWioA7IteuoYou can email us at [email protected]. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

    We Could Be F.R.O.7.I.N.G

It's a barrel of laughs and a hootenanny all in one in this exciting episode of We Could Be watching! Lexx has sort of conceptual hypothetical series of laughs brought upon by a number of setups that should be fun in theory but no one really puts in the work to take it home. At least we have a wonderful animated movie, too stale for even the Nostalgia Critic to touch apparently? Well, at least we have the kid in Old Enough getting scared by a dog to Gundam 00 Music. I thought about clipping it and putting it on Youtube but instead i'll just say to watch Old Enough! Fun show. I would have died if I was put into this situations as a kid. Anyway. Thanks! We Could Be Crystallizing

Content Warning: Explicit Discussion of Sexual Assault in the Lexx segment. We've finally reached our first SG-1 coverage with an episode that's just as good as I remember it being! I wish we could say we have a lot of fun covering it, but unfortunately the Lexx episode truly demolishes the vibes here. On top of being quite boring, it's Lexx as it's absolute laziest and most edgy. Maybe the writer's room should have touched a few more crystals to get their respective crystal children to come in and fix the story (and marriages?). Who can say!? You may notice I soft launch a new podcast at the end there that is not actually out yet! The first episode of that has been recorded but we are still waiting on the art and I have to figure out an opening but should hopefully be sometime soon for release. We Could Be Dee'ing

Many such mysteries can be found in this episode. The mystery of the phantom flame, the mystery of Detective Dee's exact level of misogyny, the mystery of what will happen with Zev's goo, and most importantly for Sanga: The Mystery of the American Idahole. The longest mystery didn't even make it in the episode because I cut out 5 solid minutes of us trying to figure out what Stargate episode was next. That turned out to be very importantAnyway great fun episode of the podcast and the things we watched. I sure hope we're on a roll and the next episode of Lexx isn't absolutely rancid or something. We Could Be Prixing (Grandly)

Vroom! Vroom! Bam! Is Lightning McQueen going to be okay? I just watched the Cars 3 teaser trailer and holy moly he is in my thoughts and prayers. I will not be watching Cars 3 to find out though. He will exist in limbo. Anyway, in this episode of Lexx we find new and exciting ways to strap Zev to an operating table. Well, uh, not necessarily *new* or *exciting* ways necessarily but I suppose the way she breaks out is at least one of those? Anyway sort of a middling episode with some ups and downs. Know what else has Ups and Downs??? Cars!??? They go up (forward) mostly and then sometimes down when things go bad, as they frequently do in Grand Prix which is a movie of all time. We also talk about Sanga's 20 year history of repairing a beater and the beginning of my YEAR OF CLAMP which I will perhaps talk about more in FUTURE EPISODES.Thanks for listening! We Could Be Hellzapoppin'ing

We have hit season 2 of Lexx, and that means one full season of a show without a single appearance of Stargate. Season 2 of Lexx is quite larger, so it would be much more surprising if that ever happens again. The season starts with an episode that's just sort of okay but we watch a really interesting meta 40's musical thing which we're both rather taken with so that's okay. I also talk a bit about Babylon 5! Justice for Kathryn M. Drennan! Also, we spend a while talking about our two very different lists favorite musicals (Sanga's is much less embarrassing) and Sanga makes the worst joke on the podcast yet. We Could Be xxxing

Content Warning for discussion of sexual assault-It's the season finale! Not really of this show I guess, but of Lexx! It's sort of an uneven finale (the content warning above is not a warning for considered stuff here) but we're excited to see what comes next. Also, Clamp is here! Sometimes it's nice to see a breezy ghost film. xxxHolic sort of feels like what if Bleach never became a questionable shounen action show a bit. Kenpachi should still show up in xxxHolic though, that would be cool. Anyway Thanks for listening! You can email us at [email protected]. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

We Could Be Come On Boy'ing

Hello! This episode we cover an episode of Lexx that is a real miss, but I also talk about milk preferences for like 5 straight minutes and introduce a brand new segment of sorts - We Could Be Top 5'ing! So much potential, so many numbered options. Anyway I wonder if Juspion would like milk? God, what an outfit. I wish I could pull off what Juspion wears and then I would wear it every single day of my life. Thanks for listening! You can email us at [email protected]. Hosted on Acast. We Could Be Watching Sons of Steel

Welcome back to our second episode! First of all, Content Warning for Sexual Assault from the Lexx episode. Really no getting around that. Anyway this time we are watching Tim Curry be with us in spirit and also in greenscreen though Lexx. In Sons of Steel we explore Australian science fiction as through a band's promotional vehicle! We really see the power of out-there science fiction through two very different angles and budgets. I hope you enjoy! You can email us at [email protected]. Hosted on Acast. We Could Be Watching Lexx

Hello! In this first episode, we talk about the premise for the podcast which almost makes some amount of sense. What if you wanted to watch a long running sci-fi franchise for a podcast but you already watched a bunch of it and know you wouldn't have a lot to say about most of it? Well, that's the situation we're in, so we will be watching through Lexx and then whatever nonsense. For now though, we cover the Stargate film. Sorry if I mention other stuff that should be in the show notes it was too long since recording but I'm sure it doesn't matter anyway! I'm very excited to finally start doing this and hopefully you might like it too! Next time we will be watching Lexx S1E2 and Sons of Steel, the Australian Sci-Fi 80's movie.Sanga Guile: https://i.imgur.com/j58cGKK.pngYou can email us at [email protected]. Hosted on Acast.
