NWS Storm Prediction Center highlights a Level 2 (Marginal–Slight) severe threat for damaging wind and heavy rain later today. This week the Carolinas are back to those afternoon-through-evening pulses—your typical July pattern with a potential flash flood risk in low‑lying areas.”

NC Daily Forecast for 8 July 2025
A Heat Advisory is in effect for much of central and eastern North Carolina from 10 AM to 8 PM, with heat index values between 105–109°F expected. Look for hot, humid, and mostly dry conditions in the morning, with an increasing chance of showers or isolated storms this afternoon—especially near the Triangle region, where a 30–40% storm chance will develop after 2 PM . Rain storms over the next 1-5 days will bring additional flooding to already sensitive rivers and streams, stay close to your weather monitoring system / phone for alerts and warnings.
