I'm delighted to have you join me for this special episode in which I welcome a guest who is dear to me and whose work I greatly admire. We are joined by Anna Filimonova,  a renowned international painter and the founder of the International Outdoor Large-Format Painting Festival. This event is dedicated to celebrating plein air painting.  This year, the 8th édition of the festival will take place from 27th to 30th August in the beautiful town of Les Andelys, in Normandy, bringing together artists from different backgrounds to share their passion and creativity.  For this interview, we are under the glass roof of the Grand Palais, in Paris.

It is a vibrant and diverse showcase of contemporary art, featuring works from a wide range of artists and artistic movements. Let's get started; follow me for the tour!  

Today, I'm taking you on a special episode to the Louvre Museum in Paris. I'd like to introduce you to a magnificent exhibition entitled "Naples in Paris: The Louvre Invites the Capodimonte Museum," which will run until January 2024. This exhibition provides a unique opportunity to explore the connections between two great European cities and their shared artistic heritage.  

Today, we'll be discussing mokuhanga, a traditional Japanese woodblock printmaking technique. The story of mokuhanga dates back to ancient Japan, where it originated as a printing technique used to reproduce Buddhist  texts and images. This technique is known for its unique aesthetics and is now adopted by artists to convey contemporary atmospheres.
