Poetry - Peace
Soothing, quieting and sereneQuenching thirst from hundred degrees Peace is the only thing that brings Calm to our soul like virgin stream. We need it, ‘cause we have the capability To get it, at the count of one, two, threePray to Him, who gives abundantly For peace that pass man’s ability.Whenever we have peace, never let is goIt’s tranquil because we need it so With those busy thoughts that occupy the mind Peace is the only thing that will help mankind.Love, joy and peace are gifts from GodFreely given at the quest of his word,Come closer to Him to obtain that peace It’s a blessing no one should ever miss.By Gloria S. Poetry - Love
The world will be a better placeIf we/d love our neighbors as ourselvesLove is the greatest commandment of our Lord And it’s shown in His unspoken word. Please try to bless someone todayBy showing love in a great way Like the good Samaritan of old Compassionating love he showed.Where there’s love there’ll be no hate And no weapons at all shall be made All wars will cease and strife resolved In this our transitory abode. When the world becomes a better place We all will willingly partake The fruit of the spirit that’s given to us By no other but the Lord Himself.Brothers, sisters, parents, child, let’s Love others as we would ourselves That will itself reunite his world And make a better place for all.By Gloria S. Smoke in the Kitchen - The First Chapter
The opening chapter of Smoke in the Kitchen introduces Sara Moses in Freetown, Sierra Leone, in February 1983. At forty-three, Sara is no stranger to hardship. She carries within her a deep well of fortitude, built from years of overcoming personal loss and family conflict. We meet her in a moment of tension, walking away from her modern, fully equipped indoor kitchen to the outdoor firewood kitchen she treasures. This simple act reveals much more than a preference for cooking methods. It exposes the central conflicts shaping her life: tradition versus modernization, personal conviction versus marital compromise, and cultural heritage versus societal progress. As Sara stands firm in her love for the three fireside stones of her outdoor kitchen, we begin to see a woman determined not to lose herself in marriage. Beneath this domestic disagreement lies deeper pain—her inability to bear children, her desire to adopt, and a looming dispute over her inherited family business.Chapter One sets the tone for the novel: a story rooted in resilience, identity, and the quiet strength of a woman determined to protect what she values most, even when the smoke begins to rise.
