    Becoming Unmuted with Erin Snow

On this episode of Who We Become, I have Erin Snow as my guest. This one hits home for me and if you've ever lived through moments that brought shame, guilt, grief, judgement or heaviness from your experiences, parenting, successes, marriage, divorce or losses, this is for you too. Erin shares with me how she became a professional listener, a true holder of space to support others as they speak the words they need to release in complete neutrality. Erin Snow is a Professional Listener and founder of The Unmuted Room, a first-of-its-kind confidential listening space for anyone carrying more than they can say out loud. She creates private, judgment-free sessions for people who need to speak the truths they can't share with friends, family, or coworkers — whether it's the messy, complicated stories, the quiet aching questions, or the thoughts they've been softening in every other room of their lives. Before founding The Unmuted Room, Erin spent 17 years as a trauma-informed legal advocate for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking, becoming the first paralegal in New Hampshire allowed to represent clients directly in family court. That experience — combined with her own — taught her a profound truth: being truly heard is not a luxury. It is a necessity for anyone carrying more than they can say out loud. Erin's long-term vision is to make listening spaces as common as gyms and as understood as any other form of wellness. She is building something quietly transformative: a world where people are finally, truly heard.https://theunmutedroom.com/home-8207Follow Erin and The Unmuted Room on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/the.unmutedroom/⏰ Episode Time Stamps ⏰0:00 How Erin became unmuted6:00 Creating the Unmuted Room10:33 What is a professional listener?18:35 Paving the way for more listening spaces22:10 A stepping stone to your action of choice27:16 Speaking your truth and taking up space without shame, guilt, or masks33:25 The physical benefits of finally saying something out loud36:13 Everyone deserves to become unmuted42:08 Permission to take up space46:06 How to get into The Unmuted Room with ErinAs always, thank you for listening to the Who We Become podcast! Becoming La Glammed Jefa with Cynthia Flores Viles

In this episode of who we are through becoming and unbecoming, one of Texas' finest designers joins me in a conversation centered on turning our stories as women into conversation pieces that create a ripple effect of impact everywhere they're worn. Cynthia is the founder and designer of Glammed Jefa, a bespoke hat design brand created for women who have walked through fire and still chose to rise. Her work is not trend-driven it is story-driven. Every piece she designs begins with a woman’s transformation story, and then translates that journey into a wearable reminder of her strength, resilience, and the season of life she is stepping into. Before becoming a designer, Cynthia was an educator and Spanish linguist, and her life has always been centered around voice, identity, and helping others see their potential. After losing both of her parents, she turned my grief into creation, and what began as healing became purpose. She discovered that when a woman sees herself in the mirror wearing something that reflects who she has become, it changes how she stands, how she walks, and how she sees herself.Glammed Jefa exists for the woman who leads with presence. Her mission is simple: to create pieces that remind women they are not invisible they are powerful, they are seen, and they have arrived. If you'd like to collaborate with Cynthia for your very own Glammed Jefa hat, you can find her on Facebook and Instagram @GlammedJefa or email her at [email protected]⏰ Episode Time Stamps ⏰0:00 The WHY behind the GLAM11:11 Supporting other women in their healing15:00 Not just a hat, a journey of rebuilding21:52 The next stage for Glammed Jefa29:29 Feeling like an orphan after the passing of parents and being adopted into a supportive village32:15 Protecting peace and settings boundaries36:43 Women being able to recognize themselves again39:30 A once in a lifetime Glammed Jefa special delivery 44:37 Healing for the generations after us47:53 Storytelling through one of a kind hat designs51:56 Language as a bridge to becoming creative55:00 Inspired by women from all walks of life58:22 Making her inner child proud 59:25 Glammed Jefa's current blank canvas 1:02:49 Where the name Glammed Jefa came fromNote: The book in the episode by Dr. Gabor Mate that I could not remember the name of is "When The Body Says No," and I highly recommend it. Becoming A Podcaster

I recorded this episode last weekend because I thought I would share what it's like for me personally to podcast and I forgot to publish it because my toddler had just got home with her dad and I was excited to see her. My bad! Well, the very same week of recording this I began to get some questions from several of you and a few others on social media. I guess the timing was no coincidence! Now I am even more glad I decided to share this part of my becoming. If you have been considering starting your own podcast but feel like you may be overthinking it, I hope this episode reassures you that it doesn't have to be complicated. Is it nice to have state of the art equipment, a studio, badass ass video footage and great lighting? Probably! But I wouldn't know because I am not quite there yet. In this episode of Who We Become, I share how I have become a podcaster with a "basic ass recording studio" and you can too. This episode is more about the process of recording and publishing. If you would like me to record a part 2 about what to talk about on your podcast, let me know! This podcast is slowly but surely growing and finding its way up the ranks, so thank you to each and every one of you, even those of you across oceans, who take the time to search, choose an episode, subscribe, and hit play! It really means the world. 💜 Andrea K

    Becoming Strong &Feminine

I struggled with my femininity over the years for several reasons but I am learning about becoming softer around my edges without forgetting the strength I have. Can you relate?I know I'm not the only woman who has had to step into her strongest versions and forgot to take care of herself, that it's okay to dress in whatever makes her feel her best, or that it's a balance between being able to handle whatever life brings and not lose herself in the process. Despite wearing whatever we feel like wearing, we're still women. In this episode of Who We Become, I share my experiences of embracing femininity and owning my girly side, as well as exploring why I thought for so long I "couldn't" be "girly."Thank you for listening. ❤️

    Journey To Keynote

How often do we see someone reach a goal they talk about but didn't see everything that went into it?Giving a keynote has been a goal of mine, but the way it all came together is something I could not have imagined. Who you are today could be a totally different person than who you are in a few months. This episode of Who We Become is a summary of my journey over a few months, beginning where I decided I wanted to speak, got invited to speak, prepared for it, and traveled to give a keynote to my first audience. One of the details that blew me away is that I traveled out of state to do this and I thought starting out locally was the only way. Turns out that when your goals become real life, it will be so different than what we imagine, but the journey is so worth it! Thank you for listening to this episode, it means a lot! Shares, reviews, and comments are always appreciated. ❤️

    Why I Speak Up

A big reason I podcast at all is to practice speaking up. But it didn't start with this podcast and after living through years of experiences that required me to use my voice, I can say that who you are and who you are becoming has a lot to do with whether you are using your voice or not. I know that I won't die with regrets of staying quiet because I did it enough to learn the consequences. This short episode on Who We Become is full of reasons to speak up and I will be back with more so stay tuned. Thank you for listening! Reviews, shares, and comments are very appreciated! I would love to know how this episode supported you. 💜

    Holding Space Isn't Problem Solving

Holding space often gets confused with fixing what is or feels wrong. Although I have genuinely held space for others and myself countless times, I have been guilty of offering solutions to someone who didn't need that in the moment. They wanted me to simply be there. Who you are in that moment holding space for someone else can be the difference between someone coming back to you for confiding or not. Who someone else is, while you are needing them to hold space for you in that moment determines if you will go back to them to be there for you. Paying attention to how silence requires attention just as much as words do is part of holding space. This episode of the Who We Become podcast will help you understand the difference between what holding space is and isn''t. Thank you for being here! Closing Chapters

As we close out 2025, so many emotions and memories are coming up. The lessons that this year brought are so vast! If you're so ready for this year to be left behind, this episode is a reminder to give yourself credit and grace for what you endured and where you had wins. Remember that transitions from one season to the next can feel like they can't be here soon enough, instant gratification is not realistic and it's normal to soak in the "in between" because there are lessons and experiences worth your time in that space too.And in case you haven't heard it lately, I am so proud of you! Life After Death

Today is Dia De Los Muertos (The Day Of The Dead) and I honor my loved ones today and everyday. In this episode, I get raw about some things I have noticed and learned through my own grief. The truth is that death IS a part of life. As a former childbirth coach, I have seen the miracle of life being birthed. On the other side of that is death. Yes it is sad, sometimes tragic and brutal but so is birth. If we can talk about having babies and starting families in society, we can talk about when it is someone's time to go, even when unexpected. These are the conversations that foster deeper connections, help us face our most vulnerable moments, and give us the strength to carry on. Do you honor your loved ones who have passed? I would love to hear how you celebrate and honor the life and memories they lived. 🧡Connect with me here

    48 Hour Lesson

This episode is the story of my recent rollercoaster of a lesson.I felt so much shame around being irresponsible and losing my driver's lesson, which triggered me to have a huge crying release that I had held for a couple weeks. While I have been having so many wins and breakthroughs lately, I was also reminded that life will life throw punches that I must roll with. Once I did, I had a realization of:WHEN WE WANT OR DESIRE MORE THERE WILL BE MORE EXPECTED OF US. ⚡️This is what the Universe, God, Spirit were all trying to tell me: "hey, you're on your way so GET READY. Increase your capacity to hold more because you are becoming more."⚡️Have you had an experience where you needed to become more in order to receive more? I would love to hear about it! Discernment For Discomfort

There is so much talk around having discernment for other people and their intentions or their energy. But what about our own? What about being discerning of when we are doing too much or being too hard on ourselves? I am calling myself out on what one of my principles in this episode! "Lean Into Discomfort": Am I here to encourage you to do so? Absolutely! But it should never come at the cost of our joy or peace. We can live our lives AND apply whatever we have learned in our experiences WHEN life gives us that opportunity. But we don't have to constantly seek discomfort or self improvement. This episode is about taking you on my personal journeys of knowing the difference between being outside of the comfort zone and suffering.BECAUSE WHEN WILL YOU ENJOY YOUR LIFE??Give yourself permission to LIVE and not be in a constant state of DOING. It is okay to choose BEING. Thank you so much for listening! What did you think about this episode?? I would love to know! 5 Weeks of Results

I share how keeping it simple, keeping my routine and practices  intentional, leaving pressure in the past, and showing up imperfectly has paid off in ways I did not foresee at the beginning of this year. These last 5 weeks have been the proof I needed for my future self. What can you do you now so your future self has proof that you are showing up?Highlights from this episode:-Healing begins with facing painful truths📚James Clear’s Atomic Habits is so underrated, if you haven’t read it I highly recommend it -Being productive does not mean doing more🎼 Song lyrics in Ordinary by Alex Warren: “If your time is running’ out, day after day, we’ll make the mundane our masterpiece”-Consistency in simplicity can be rewarding-The fun and growth resulting experiences I’ve had over the past 5 weeks from all my small but consistent efforts paying off 📚The 7 Spiritual Laws of Success by Deepak Chopra: the little book you should take everywhere with you-The version of you now determines who you become in the future, good or bad🙌🏽 I noticed I barely said “um” way less in this episode, WOO! 🤣Thank you from the bottom of my heart for listening to this episode! 💜🩷💙Please leave me a review, comment, or connect with me through here.

    Giving Away Your Power

Yes, I went there and "beat the dead horse" on people pleasing.I believe that when it comes to women no longer people pleasing, being empowered, and living with boundaries, half the battle is using our voice. But it takes consistency for the "speaking up muscle" to grow. I shared something on social media this week that over 1500 women resonated with and I knew it was because at some point between childhood and now, they have also either had their power taken from them or given it away. So this episode is a reminder that you don't have to give your power away anymore. If you have, give yourself grace and hold space for whoever you were in that moment and know that it's okay. Moving forward, your power is yours. Validation from others is no longer necessary and it's okay to return to sender. In this episode I share: -the viral sentence that I posted on social media in September-why speaking up consistently is an important practice that can make or break life impacting decisions -how not speaking up seems harmless but comes with a price-how I had a 20 minute conversation with a surgeon who expected me to be in and out of my appointment briefly-what to pay attention to so you can identify where you may be people pleasing-that it's okay to have boundaries with your own kidsIf you listened to this episode, thank you!!! TEDx St. Pete Women

Earlier this month I had one of my favorite experiences of my life: attending a TEDx event! If you follow me on social media or have met me in person, you know that I value memories over things. This is forever one of my favorite memories. TEDx St. Pete Women was organized by Montrella Cowan, a TEDx Speaker herself (Why We Need To Talk About Grief At Work), and was hosted at the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Pete, FL. The theme was The Golden Age of Greatness: Health, Wealth, and Happiness (https://tedxstpetewomen.com/)More About Montrella Cowan: https://montrellacowan.com/Not only did I get to meet each speaker but I was able to see how so many people come together to not only support the speakers who said yes to themselves, but I got to see close up how many moving parts come together to give us the quality talks we get to watch on our screens at home. If you didn't know the difference between a TED Talk and a TEDx Talk, the difference is that a TEDx event is independently organized. Qualified TEDx organizers are able to put their own TEDx event together and I truly believe that Montrella knocked it out of the park with TEDx St. Pete Women! Coming Home to Ourselves

If you've ever had a season that you did not think would end, this episode is for you. ❤️This year I felt like I was drowning due to my health taking a plummet and I had to relearn how to use my voice, listen to my body and lean into discomfort more than I ever have. After months of darkness I finally began to see and feel the light again, but none of it was possible without some of my favorite humans that supported my vulnerability and held space, which has resulted in my empowerment. It has felt like a coming home to a familiar embrace and the best part is I am a better mom and partner because of it all. Let's connect!https://linktr.ee/the.andrea.k

    For The Love of Boundaries

The B word is so common now and I think it’s become way too much of an excuse to dodge the responsibility we owe ourselves and each other to communicate our needs, values, and standards. In this episode I speak about: -boundaries being used for improving connections and not severing them-preventing resentment-the discomfort that comes with the territory of boundary setting -how boundaries don’t mean that we don’t care, in fact, the opposite: a way to show each other that we care but don’t want but too much give or takeThank you so much for listening! I would love to hear your thoughts and your experiences with boundaries, email me about it! [email protected]

    It's Okay To Start Over

Third time's a charm! I am officially making my comeback into podcasting. Thank you to those of you who have listened before, hit the follow button, or shared an episode and welcome if you are new here! It's been an interesting and wild ride, but I'm grateful to be speaking to you about all things becoming who we were, are, and going to be. P.S. It may look different around here because I gave the design and branding a refresh! I absolutely love it and it felt right as I have outgrown who I was last year. Let me know what you think!
