From Creative Resilience to Creative Resistance: Applying Arts-Based Participatory Methods to Engage Students in Undergraduate Research at an HSI
In this special episode of Willing to Learn Dr. Ashley D. Domínguez, along with her colleagues at the University of Arizona College of Education, Dr. Regina Deil-Amen, and Dr. Julio Cammarota, present their ongoing project focused on the experiences of Puerto Rican undergraduate students in the wake of Hurricane Maria in 2017. They explain the use of 'participatory action research', where students themselves researched their own experiences, and elucidate some of the key issues raised during the project. Additionally, they showcase arts-based elicitation as a valuable emotional outlet and research tool.
