Cody Hinkley, a wildlife biology graduate student at Western Colorado University, spent 2.5 years studying a reintroduced bighorn sheep herd deep in the Black Canyon of the Gunnison—one of the most rugged and remote landscapes in Colorado.After being wiped out by disease in the 1970s and reintroduced in the 1990s, the herd is now thriving.
