ANDREW TATE IS NOT YOUR FRIEND: PART 2

A quick wrap up of Episode 10: Part One which was necessary to record because Sam accidentally shut off the recording during the episode taping.

ANDREW TATE IS NOT YOUR FRIEND

Don't worry -- Sam and Heath won't judge you if you listen to Andrew Tate. He's a very popular podcaster/influencer with young men, and there's a reason for that. Young men are feeling lost, alone, craving guidance and connection in a world where they feel increasingly isolated and helpless, and they look to Andrew Tate to provide it. But Sam and Heath think these same young men can do better. They deserve to make real friends who don't berate them at every turn. Friends that provide laughter and light, not and cynicism and darkness. In other words, friends like Sam and Heath.

IF YOU WERE SMART, YOU'D USE YOUR SMARTPHONE TO CALL A FRIEND

Smartphones aren't even really phones... they're just tiny computers in your pocket that HAPPEN to have a phone feature that allows you to call someone. But it's the last thing anyone thinks about when they're using it. They're too distracted by all the other options the phone provides. In today's episode, Sam and Heath break down the importance of shutting out all those tempting distractions, and using the phone in the way it was originally intended to be used -- to make a call, to hear someone's voice, to be a human, TO MAKE A CONNECTION. So to all the young men out there having trouble making friends, make a call to someone today -- it will mean more to that person and forge more long lasting friendships than you could possibly imagine.

A FRIEND IS ALWAYS A PHONE CALL AWAY

Making friends is not as hard as you think. In today's episode, Sam and Heath (will special returning guest Jamie Latta-Corson!) tell you the one thing you need to know to get and maintain a good friendship -- stop the texting, the DM'ing, and the voice messaging, pick up the freaking phone, call someone and have an actual conversation! It really is that simple!

THE ROAD TO HAVING FRIENDS RUNS THROUGH THE DANCE FLOOR

Kids used to love dancing... well, not anymore. These days, kids just stand around at concerts, not moving to the music, getting scolding by the musicians they're watching for having sticks up their asses. While this episode is not directly related to helping young men find and make friends, we think the trend of kids not wanting to dance is indicative of a larger problem -- mainly that the phone has made kids so used to being isolated, that they're not comfortable hanging out with other people, especially in public. Sam and Heath dive into all of it, and believe that the road having to having friends runs straight through the dance floor.

EPISODE 5 PART 2: HEATH'S MESSAGE IN RESPONSE TO SAM'S MESSAGE

Heath calls Sam back to talk about the message Sam left for him, and they continue their chat about the importance of leaving messages when it comes to maintaining and nurturing lifelong friendships.

  7. 6

A VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF LEAVING MESSAGES

Once upon a time, not that long ago, people would leave a voicemail on someone's phone if they didn't pick up. But those days are long gone. Now, "missed call" is the new version of leaving a message. And we think that's wrong. Friendship is not just about communicating and talking on the phone, it's about leaving a message so your friend can hear your voice and know why you were calling. In this very special solo episode, Sam leaves a message for Heath, and makes the case for leaving a message as a way to maintain friendship and keep it going in between the missed calls.

MANKEEPING: THE FASTEST WAY TO LOSE YOUR GIRLFRIEND

If you haven't heard of "mankeeping" you really better hope you're not one of the million guys on this planet who are asking their girlfriends/wives/significant others to do it for them. It's when you complain and bitch about your life to them, even though they really don't want to hear it, and would much prefer you share this stuff and work it out with your friends instead. Of course, the reason you're probably doing it is because you don't have any friends in the first place. We're here to help -- and so is our special guest, Heath's amazing wife, Jamie!

YOU G0T KICKED OFF THE FRIEND TEXT CHAIN -- NOW WHAT?

Being kicked off a text chain with all your friends is never fun, but it's all too common. So how do you handle it? What do you do to get back into the good graces of your friends? Or is better not to and just move on from that friend group who could so easily dump you? In this episode, Sam and Heath delve into this fraught topic with helpful advice and guidance to deal with this exact situation.

  10. 3

THE IMPORTANCE OF BALL BUSTING AMONGST FRIENDS

Getting roasted, talking shit, teasing -- whatever you call it, it's something good friends do. Don't fear it, let it get you down or think of it as a micro-aggression. Let it be something that brings you closer together with your friends, not pushes you apart.

  11. 2

MAKING FRIENDS ISN'T AS HARD AS YOU THINK

In the very first episode of Would It Kill You To Call?, old friends Heath Corson and Sam Wolfson give young men tips and advice on how to make friends in a world where it is increasingly difficult to do so. The good news is you're not alone -- 1 in 5 young men have no friends. Heath and Sam are here to help.
