Choosing to embrace my baldness has been a liberating journey, especially coming from a community where traditional gender norms often dictate feminine beauty standards. Shaving my head was more than a change in appearance; it was a powerful statement of self-empowerment, challenging societal norms and reclaiming my autonomy over my body and identity. In letting go of external expectations, I discovered an inner strength and authenticity I never knew I had. Each strand of hair shed was a step toward liberation, unveiling a deeper connection and acceptance of who I am.

This past holiday season I was asked “When are you giving us grandbabies?” more than ever. Here’s a glimpse at what my thought process been since then. I know it’s something most of us find ourselves dealing with as we enter our late twenties. We’re constantly reminded that many of the women that came before us had families at or before the age of 25. It generates the inevitable feeling of *pressure*. But here’s a reminder that whatever decisions you make, make them with *your* best interest at heart.
