S1 E09: A Mixtape Portrait Of Jade Hannath Part 1
Ellooooooo mate, how's it bloody going? This month on the YFWM we're doing something a little bit different and talking to a writer- the one and only Jade Hannath. Jade is a writer, social worker, ocassional Triple R DJ and mostly notably one of my best pals. We get into all things creative process, the origins of Jade's want and need to write and all things vegan eating in Melbourne. From day one of meeting her, Jade has always been one of those friends I can't help but dive down deep rabbit holes with and lose several hours in discussion on any topic under the sun, I honestly struggled playing host and to remind myself multiple times that this was in fact a podcast and not just a usual extended yap session. In light of that, I hope that familiarity and fun bond comes across in this first of two episodes with Jade. Check back in next week to hear Jade's mixtape of bangers, but for now I hope you enjoy these two friends having a fun little gab! Until next time maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate!https://linktr.ee/yfwmate

S1 E06: A Mixtape Portrait Of Hamish McNab
This month on the YFWM podcast we have the very special guest Hamish Mcnab. Well known in the Melbourne music scene for his performing in many rock bands over the years, his work as a live sound engineer, producer and as the organizer and founder of the Freedom Arts Movement, (an organization that hosts mini backyard festivals across Melbourne each year). This was the very first episode of the podcast, recorded back in February 2024, so thanks to Hamish for christening the ship with me. All parts loose, fun, deep and profound, this conversation really runs the full gamut. Also included in the pod is Hamish's favourite Melbourne institution(s), somewhat unable to contain his love for the scene, he broke the rules and shouted out five venues! Unfortunately two; the Gasometer Hotel and Whole Lotta Love have closed down since this pod, which just means we all need to make sure to get down and give the much needed love, support and beer money to the legendary Cherry Bar, Shotkickers and Bergy Seltzer. Support your local music scene guys and, as always, please support your local pod. Links for everything down below including Hamish's socials and his full mixtape portrait playlist on the YFWM spotify page. Until next time maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate!https://linktr.ee/yfwmatehttps://www.instagram.com/hamish.mcnab/https://linktr.ee/thefammelb?https://www.instagram.com/cherrybarmelb/https://www.instagram.com/shotkickersmelb/https://www.instagram.com/thebergyseltzer/

S1 E05: An Ode To Fake Tales Of San Francisco by Arctic Monkeys
'Ello maaaaaaaaaaaaaaate! This week is a solo episode and I'm discussing Fake Tales of San Francisco by Arctic Monkeys and in doing so, telling a story about moving to Canberra at the age of 16, my first musical perfomances at Dickson College with my pals Andy and Matt, and how listening to this song influenced a 29 year old me into getting stuck back into making some music after a little hiatus.I hope you get something from this little ramble and chuck in the comments what your favourite AM track is or what song gets you back on track and creating when you have a lull in passion and creativity. Until next time maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate...Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/yfwmate/Email:[email protected] Spotify:https://open.spotify.com/user/316di3ladgy6o7yvu5lgva2boxdi?si=fGTQ1y_OSD6F2NHJ83thuA
