Fanfare: Der Du Im Heil'gsten Sakrament

This is a short Hymn-Prelude for my good friend and fellow trumpet player Kevin T. Dolfin. It is one of the few things I was able to write in less than a week. This five-minute -or-less piece is based on an old German Catholic hymn-tune known in the English-speaking world as "Ellecombe" ("Hosanna, Loud Hosanna" or "I sing th'almighty power of God"). It is playable in a few ways: straight through, without the middle section, or just the first section. This recording was done in First English Lutheran Church in Platteville with Kevin T. Dolfin on trumpet and University of Wisconsin professor Dr. Thomas Taylor Dickey on the organ. Music (c) myself. Performance (c) the performers. Picture of the Cologne Cathedral is Public Domain, but found on Wikepedia.

    Fantasia On Slane

Fantasia on Slane is a piece I wrote Summer of 2013 that was premiered the 26th of April 2015 by two very talented Colleagues of mine: Stephanie Cooper on Flute and Laura Bee on Piano. It was originally written for a saxophonist-friend of mine. For those confused by the title, Slane is the name of the hymn-tune paired with the texts "Be Thou My Vision" and "Lord of all Hopefulness". This is a recording of the premier. (c) 2015 by Zachary.
