Twas the night before Christmas Eve and locals & visiting tourists gathered at LBD Honolulu to dine on sushi, imbibe in a celebratory manner and groove to house beats provided by DJ James Vincent. Kiku & Meshiagare!!!

In 2008 I went by the name DJ JVC, I was spinning a whole lotta mashups and doing a whole lotta driving around to my gigs in NY & NJ. Hence the inspiration for this teaser mix and it's longer extended 'full length' version. Both mixes posted on this page.

I've done a ton of work for Victoria Secret over the years and it's always a great time getting to throw down some beats and add to the vibe at their events. Digging through some old mixes and found a couple of quik mixes I used to use sometimes for bathroom breaks and combined them to bring you some awesome late 80s hip hop (Schooly D, Run DMC, Biz Markie, Eric B, Slick Rick) & early 90s dancehall reggae (Barrington Levy, Cutty Ranks, Dawn Penn, Tenor Saw, Sister Nancy).

Another #tbt. Osheaga Festival 2015 commissioned me to do a few mixes for one of their installations. On this mix I used lots of groundbreaking 80s electro classics and tracks that were the foundation for hip hop of that era along with more up to date material that draw influence from that time.

A few years back Mario Barth --world famous tattoo kingpin and founder of Starlight Tattoo -- asked me to create some custom mixes for him to play in his when he first opened up his first Las Vegas parlor inside Mandalay Bay. A little Labor Day soundtrack for your --BBQ, pool party, beach time, car ride, flight, same grind as any Monday even it is a holiday….

Playing a good opening set is not always the easiest thing to do. Especially if the headliner is running late. You want to get the crowd pumped up --bc that's what being an opening dj is all about--but you don't want to play a bunch of bangers & 'burn' the headliner. I knew ahead of time this night the headliner was going to be late and toed the line between opening & peak hour. Turned out to be a great night all around.
