They discuss their experiences with their injury, obstacles they face, how it's changed them so far, and how it affects their bodies, mental health, and college application processes. From the moment it happens to pre-hab, rehab, and even years after recovery the injury sticks with you. Despite sports being the main cause, most athletes do as much as they can to recover in time for their next season because of how much sports mean to them. Crawley, Muttathil, and McGovern express the importance of talking to people about your injury and getting the opportunity to relate to others who have been in the same boat. Though it is certainly one long, and tough recovery, having people around is a greater help than one could imagine. If you are a female athlete interested in learning more about injury prevention as well as hearing from those who have been through injuries feel free to join Women in Sports Club!
