#End Human Trafficking Zimbabweans Now - Voice of America

Shamwari Yemwanasikana's Director Ekenia Chifamba says her organisation has embarked on an awareness campaign to educate women and girls on the dangers of human trafficking. Mrs. Chifamba says they are now targeting maginalized rural communities.

Biata Nyamupinga, chairperson of the Parliamentary Gender Committee and Zanu PF lawmaker, warns local women and girls to be vigilant of foreign job offers in Arab countries, especially Kuwait. This follows the trafficking of 200 women under the guise of greener pastures.

A Zimbabwean woman who wanted to be identified as Nancy Moyo says she was duped into slavery in Kuwait where her sponsor wanted her to be based in Saudi Arabia.
