Eric

In this final episode Eric gives the final details of the construction of the USAF Greenham Common, and then we come to the end of Eric's story.

Eric was given an opportunity to work at a snack shop on the new US airbase being built near his hometown. This was another big change in his life, but as with his time on the trains, he thrived. In this episode we hear a lot about the American foods that were making their way across the ocean.

Eric continues to describe life at St. Lukes's. You can get an idea of the location if you look up Burgess Hill, Sussex. Much has changed since my grandfather was there, but some of the older buildings would have been familiar to him.
