Fan Interference Podcast — June 19, 2025
Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, and Producer Tim discuss: In this, the season finale, the talk began with NHL news since the Florida Panthers won their second Stanley Cup in a row. Then, truthfully, it’s a long, drawn-out, b*tch-p*ss-and-moan session from Ty about the Red Sox basically giving Rafael Devers away from crumbs. There’s other stuff, but that takes up the majority of the hour. See you next season (August-ish)! All this and more…Leave a voicemail or text for Fan Interference by calling 336-422-NUMB (6862). Fan Interference Podcast — June 12, 2025
Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, and Producer Tim discuss: Everyone has been talking about the NCAA vs House settlement and what it means for College Athletics. That it is monumental in the history of college sports. Rece Davis said that coaches and administrators just wanted rules and just wanting to follow the rules. Um… aren’t these are the same people who have been breaking the rules for the last 150 years? In truth everything comes down to enforcement. Can anyone enforce the rules? If not, no one will follow them. If a rule is broken, and that personr or people gets fired/fined, will they sue? Are the courts going to support the College Sports Commission, because they certainly did not support the NCAA. Murray State is in the College World Series. Is this the last year a mid-major (and that is being kind to Murray State) can make a run? Their athletic budget is $10.3 million and an article on their website says they raised another $21.5 million. If they opt into the House settlement, they would have to pay athletes $20.5 million. That is 2/3rds of their budget. Does any school that opts out have much of a chance. Oh yeah Rodgers is officially a Steeler. How does Producer Tim feel about it? Ty gives his thoughts about the USMNT four-match losing streak heading into the Gold Cup and the fact that most of the A-players are on vacation. Landon Donovan had some interesting comments. It seems the USMNT has had a lot of drama over the last couple of years. All this and more…Leave a voicemail or text for Fan Interference by calling 336-422-NUMB (6862). Fan Interference Podcast — June 5, 2025
Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, Bijan, and Producer Tim discuss: Knicks fire Tom Thibodeau after reaching the ECF. What are the Knicks thinking? Is the owner sane or not? Does Connor McDavid need to win a cup, to be considered one of the greatest of all time? The Oilers are on their way with a 1-0 series lead. Crazy stat of the day… As of yesterday, the Colorado Rockies had 3 wins since the beginning of May. Scottie Sheffler, on the other hand, has won 3 tournaments since the beginning of May. The Rockies played 28 games, Sheffler played in 4 tournaments. (the Rockies have won three straight since Monday)… Bigger story: last year the White Sox were historically bad. This year the Rockies are even worse. Does baseball have a serious problem? Does the league need some sort of punishment for being awful? Fan Interference Podcast — May 29, 2025
Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, and Producer Tim discuss: Aaron Rodgers is holding the Steelers in limbo, even though they say he isn’t. Whatever, you don’t have a season-ready QB. Joe Flacco had to walk back his comments about being a mentor to the younger QBs. Does the market matter for quality NBA finals? Probably for overall viewership because unless the Knicks pull off a stunner, it will be OKC v. Indy. But, the quality should be fantastic no matter. Canes choked and sent the Panthers back to the Stanley Cup finals for the third straight year. If Edmonton wins tonight, it is a rematch from last year. IF the Oilers get there, can they be the first Canadian team to win in a long time? There was a story last week about a few MLB pitchers who were not in favor of the proposed Hawkeye Technology that would call balls and strikes. Their concern was that is was not 100% accurate. (no tech is 100% accurate) how accurate do we think is acceptable? 98%, 99%? All this and more…Leave a voicemail or text for Fan Interference by calling 336-422-NUMB (6862). Fan Interference Podcast — May 22, 2025
Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, Bijan, and Producer Tim discuss: NBA – Shai Gilgeous-Alexander wins MVP. It is the seventh straight season that a non- US born player has won. Why is this trend happening? Pacers/Knicks or Wolves/Thunder which is more compelling? NHL – Are we destined for a Panthers/Oilers rematch? Or will the Canes and Stars shake that theory? GOLF – Scottie Scheffler won the PGA last weekend to become the 3rd player to ever win 3 majors, and 15 tour titles before the age of 29. The other two, some guys named Tiger Woods and Jack Nickolas, that is it, that is the list. How amazing is that? Baseball- Pete Rose and all 8 “Black Sox” are now eligible for the Hall of Fame. Will any of them actually get in? NFL- The Tush push lives, do we care? Does it matter to teams that aren’t in the NFC East? NFL players will be allowed in the Olympics to play flag football, does the rest of the world has a chance? Brock Purdy signs extension with 49ers. Fan Interference Podcast — May 8, 2025
Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, Bijan, and Producer Tim discuss: NBA Playoffs – Nothing like this has ever happened before. Not in the history of the NBA have all four home teams lost the first game of the 2nd round. The Cavs and Celtics are both down 0-2. Are we really going to have a Knicks/Pacers ECF? Where are Spike Lee and Reggie Miller? Steph Curry injured, does it spell the end for the Warriors, they won Game 1. Is Haliburton the most overrated player, let’s check the tape. NHL Playoffs- Oh the late game heroics/heartbreak. Could the Blues and Avs have had any worse game 7 losses? Which was worse? Once again President Cup winner on the ropes, it’s only game one but the Jets losing to the Stars after barely getting by the Blues is not a good sign. Caps and Canes: Does the winner raise the Cup? It kind of feels like it, but the Leafs would like a word. Oilers, all they do is fall behind early and comeback to win in the 3rd period. Is it sustainable? What do we think about the Utah Mammoth? NFL news: George Pickens is a Cowboy. Tom Brady talks to (but did not draft) Shuduer Sanders. Tells him, “to use slide as motivation.” All this and more…Leave a voicemail or text for Fan Interference by calling 336-422-NUMB (6862). Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, and Producer Tim discuss: The ACC/FSU/Clemson settlement went through this week. Some parties got what they wanted, and some were unscathed. Is the ACC worth that much trouble? When it comes down to it, where does the conference rank? Third? Fourth? We are coming down the stretch in college basketball. Selection Sunday is March 16. Is the ACC a 3-bid league? NFL Hot Stove topics such as trades, free agency, the upcoming draft, etc. Alex Ovechkin will break Wayne Gretzky’s record. Will it be this season? LeBron hits 50k. Or is it advantageous to both? Diana Taurasi retires – 3 NCAA titles, 3 WNBA tiles, 6 gold medals, WNBA scoring record. Is she the G.O.A.T.? An NFL team (who is a mystery, apparently) introduced a proposal to ban the “tush push” or “Brotherly Shove.” Why? Is it dangerous? Is it just a matter of defenses need to learn to stop it? Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, and Producer Tim discuss: Deion has saved Colorado $200,000 each year by not traveling to recruit. Is that a good thing? Everett really enjoyed the NHL Four Country All-Star Playoff thingy. Adam Silver and Jay Bilias are proposing that the NCAA CBB move to four 10-minute quarters, similar to the women’s game. Should MLB have a salary cap? And why is it that the bully is screaming foul? Miami FC and Sporting KC are playing soccer (in shorts) at a temperature of 4° Fahrenheit at game time, possibly colder. Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, Bijan, and Producer Tim discuss: NASCAR in Winston-Salem. We don’t usually talk about NASCAR, but since it was at Bowman-Gray, a couple of things made it interesting. MLB Umpire Pat Hoberg (rated the best ball and strikes Ump) was fired for sharing a betting account with a poker player who bet on baseball. There is no evidence Hoberg influenced bets or bet on the games himself. Super Bowl news with discussions on refs and their preferential Chief leanings, predictions, arguments, etc. How crazy and head scratchingly weird was the big NBA trade announced this week between the Mavs and Lakers? Fan Interference Podcast — January 23, 2025
Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, Bijan, and Producer Tim discuss: Let’s face it. There are plenty of sports happening right now. Like, college and pro basketball, futbol and soccer seasons on all levels across all leagues, NHL, etc. All good stuff. But the only thing that matters, really, in January is football. This episode is all about the College Playoff Championship and the NFL Playoffs. Ohio State are the national champs. Meh. Does the fact that none of the top four teams were in the championship mean that there were too many teams in the playoffs? Did the 12-team model fail? Remember folks, the best team is supposed to win. Did they? Jayden Daniel’s storybook rookie campaign gave the Commanders a beat down of the monster #1 seed, Detroit Lions. Will it catapult through the NFC Championship Game and make him the first rookie starting QB to reach the Super Bowl? Does Buffalo have any chance to beat Kansas City or will Kansas City’s penchant for “pulling it off” happen again? Does officiating help them? Conspiracy theorists think maybe. The joke is that Buffalo already has a roughing the passer penalty against them, and they haven’t even left Buffalo yet. Is it Josh Allen’s time? Is Mahomes truly a freak of nature? And Ty goes on his not-infrequent and predictable rant about why the Washington Redskins and Cleveland Indians had to change their names, whilst the Chiefs and Atlanta Braves get to keep their iconography and “allow” the fans to do “insensitive and insulting gestures” such as the tomahawk chop and war cry chants. It never gets old. That’s sarcasm. Finally, Ichiro Suzuki, CC Sabathia, and Billy Wagner will, along with “classic era players” Dave Parker and Dick Allen, be inducted into the Pro Baseball Hall of Fame. Congrats to all of them. Fan Interference Podcast — January 9, 2025
Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, Bijan, and Producer Tim discuss: The crew discusses the inaugural 12-team college football playoff with perspectives on the new format, and perhaps how the expanded playoff gives opportunities to teams from various conferences and reduces SEC dominance. The discussion delves into the performance of teams in the first round of the playoffs and the merits of a 12-team versus an 8-team playoff. What was the impact of first-round byes for top-ranked teams? Did the three-week break potentially affect teams like Georgia, Oregon, and Arizona State, and what of the challenge of maintaining game readiness during extended rest periods? What are the nuanced effects of bye weeks, noting issues like missed tackles and potential rust, while acknowledging the benefits of injury recovery and preparation time. The discussion then turns to the NFL, which has a 14-team playoff that starts this weekend. The woes of the Steelers? Are the Chiefs and Lions for real? The games that the Ravens and Chiefs lost mean more than the ones they won, right? Some light predictions on who will win. NCAA considers a blanket 5-year eligibility model. Say what? Fan Interference Podcast — December 19, 2024
Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, and Producer Tim discuss: This episode explores recent coaching changes in college football and the NFL, emphasizing Wake Forest’s remarkably secretive hiring of Jake Dickert after Dave Clawson’s retirement. What will be the challenges and opportunities of transitioning to new leadership in different programs, discussing the strengths of young, energetic coaches and notable hires like Bill Belichick to UNC and Michael Vick to Norfolk State. The gang critiques the Atlanta Falcons and speculates on playoff scenarios. The discussion covers quarterback dynamics, notably Kirk Cousins and Michael Penix Jr., and evaluates teams like the Chiefs, Bills, and Lions, debating their playoff prospects and strengths. Uniform design preferences and how they influence the viewing experience also enter the lively dialogue. Major League Baseball free agency, the Cardinals’ restructuring, and concerns over pitching injuries caused by the pursuit of velocity is on deck. What are potential solutions? Fan Interference Podcast — December 13, 2024
Producer Tim’s equipment was undergoing repair, so enjoy this lo-fi episode courtesy of Ty and Everett. In a move that shocked both college and professional football circles, Bill Belichick has been named the head coach at Carolina. As a Super Bowl-winning NFL legend, Belichick’s foray into college football marks a significant shift in his storied career. Ty and Everett question his ability to adapt to recruiting in an environment where players—now empowered by name, image, and likeness (NIL) deals—function more like free agents than traditional college athletes. His five-year, $50 million contract signals Carolina’s willingness to invest heavily in Belichick’s proven success and brand recognition as they navigate uncharted territory and highlights the evolving dynamics of college athletics. Challenges lie ahead: from appealing to 17-year-old recruits to creating a culture where athletes remain invested in their programs. As the conversation wrapped up, Ty and Everett discussed the unpredictable nature of this new landscape. Whether it’s a seasoned NFL icon or a rising collegiate star, success in today’s game depends on navigating an evolving system where tradition meets modernity—and every player asks, “What’s the number?” All this and more…Leave a voicemail or text for Fan Interference by calling 336-422-NUMB (6862). Which one is more impressive? The Chiefs and Lions are dominating their conferences. Who’s after them? Steelers, Bills, Ravens in AFC? Vikings, Eagles, Commanders in NFC? Aaron Rodgers says he plans on playing in 2025. Does anyone care? Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, Bijan, and Producer Tim discuss: Bijan is back for the first time this season. The gang talk about Commanders, Falcons, and Steelers, who each at least share their respective divisions’ leads. They also talk about some of the weekend’s matchups and who they thought was going to win. If the college playoffs were to start right now, with the standings as they are, some really great potential matchups are intriguing. Also, both the Army and Navy are ranked for the first time since 1960 and both are undefeated for the first time since 1945. What could that mean for the college playoffs, if anything? Fan Interference Podcast — October 3, 2024
Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, and Producer Tim discuss: So, UNLV still won with the backup quarterback? Did the move by the now “red-shirted” QB backfire? Gonzaga to the Pac-12. But that still doesn’t get them to six schools because Gonzaga doesn’t have a football team. What now? The buzz in the Super Bowl is the Chiefs/Vikings. Yeah, it’s only four weeks down, but that’s what people are saying. But it’s odd that going into week five, only two teams are undefeated, and only one is winless. Has parity finally set in? Is it good that all the games are up for grabs (even though they all are anyway)? Or, is it better to have dominant teams so someone is the “bad guy?” Devonte Adams wants out of Las Vegas and says he won’t play for them any longer. Which team(s) are the favorite landing spots for him? Does he go with the Jets to reunite with “Old Man” Rodgers who may or may not play after this season? Does he go to NOLA to reunite (again) with Derek Carr? How about the Black and Yellow or the Burgandy and Gold? Tributes and discussions on Dikembe Montumbo and Pete Rose passing this week. Fan Interference Podcast — September 26, 2024
Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, and Producer Tim discuss: Could UNLV be THE most important school in college athletics right now? Not the best, not the highest ranked, but important? UNLV and San Diego State both reject the PAC 12 invite. What does that mean for the PAC-12 and why did the schools decline? UNLV QB Matthew Sluka leaves the team after not getting the NIL money that the coach promised him. Does this open a can of worms? Is it par for the course? Is it meaningless? Sam Darnold has led the Vikings to a 3-0 start. Are they the best in the NFC North? Mike Tomlin is non-committal about naming Justin Fields the starting quarterback despite Fields leading the Steelers to first place in the AFC North with a perfect record of 3-0. Steelers fan Producer Tim has a theory, and Ty agrees with him, albeit in the most roundabout way possible. Is “The U” back? Is Miami that good or is the rest of the ACC that bad? Are the Chiefs really good or just really lucky? For the second year in a row, NFL #2 picks prove to be better than the #1s (at least this far). Shohei Ohtani is the first 50/50 player. Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, and Producer Tim discuss: The remnants of the Pac-12 are trying to re-bolster their conference by inviting four universities to join them. That’s six colleges. Can they find the last two to be eligible for membership status? A big recap for Week #1 in the NFL. Only two QBs threw for over 300 yards and one (notable) QB didn’t even get to 100 yards. Early predictions on how the season will end, even though forecasts after one week are primarily frivolous. Back to college football: how will the big names overcome heavy schedules? For instance, Georgia (#1) has to play four Top 10 teams during their season. Fan Interference Podcast — July 11, 2024
Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, Bijan, and Producer Tim discuss: The NFL lost a significant class-action lawsuit over The NFL Sunday Ticket, with the class-action plaintiffs being awarded $4.7B due to broken antitrust laws. The suit says the NFL turned down lower prices to keep buy-rates low to boost their partners. The NFL will appeal, but because of the antitrust laws, if they lose, they will owe $14.1B. The Copa America and UEFA finals are either set or almost set. July 1 is New Year’s Day in college athletics. The conferences all look much different now, including one of the two most winning conferences this past year, completely gone. This is the season finale of Fan Interference. We’ll be back mid- to late-August. All this and more…Leave a voicemail or text for Fan Interference by calling 336-422-NUMB (6862). Fan Interference Podcast — June 27, 2024
Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, and Producer Tim discuss: The NBA Draft is here. More than half of the first 10 were from other countries. Are American players losing position in the stature aisle? Numbers 1 and 2 were French. JJ Riddick is the new coach of the Lakers. So? Panthers win their first-ever Stanley Cup, yet the MVP (Conn-Smythe) trophy goes to McDavid who was on the Oilers team. Second skating player to ever do so. Who does the gang think will survive the Knock-Out Stage in the Euros? Will the US get out of the group in the Copa? Jim Schlossnagle left Texas A&M one day after losing the CWS final and after a rant against a reporter who suggested he may go elsewhere. Well, it wasn’t just any team he left for. It was A&M’s biggest rival, Texas. All this and more…Leave a voicemail or text for Fan Interference by calling 336-422-NUMB (6862). Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, and Producer Tim discuss: Two major sports legends (Willie Mays and Jerry West) pass away within days of each other. Three with Bill Walton last week. Was Willie Mays the true GOAT of baseball? The gang discusses it. The Rickwood Game that was to honor Mays tonight brings a whole new meaning. The Celtics closed out the NBA Finals in 5, just like Everett said they would. How did Ty’s AAU coach do? Ty breaks down the Euros and USA’s chances in Copa America. The Oilers are holding off elimination in a very entertaining NHL Finals series. All this and more…Leave a voicemail or text for Fan Interference by calling 336-422-NUMB (6862). Fan Interference Podcast — June 6, 2024
Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, Bijan, and Producer Tim discuss: Celtics/Mavs NBA finals- Boston can not be beaten and will win in five, at least one member of the crew says (not Ty). Will Ty give backhanded compliments to the Celtics’ coach? How do the others predict? Oilers/ Panthers NHL final- do you really have to have your heart broken? If so, advantage Panthers. Lost in finals last year, so hard to get shots against. The Oilers have the stars; how great to have Canada in the finals! Are the Lakers really going to hire JJ Redick as a coach with 0 coaching experience? Is it the UCONN coach? Would he leave UCONN? Is Caitlyn Clark being “targeted”? What is bigger: Real Madrid Winning the Champions League or signing Mbappe? All this and more…Leave a voicemail or text for Fan Interference by calling 336-422-NUMB (6862). Fan Interference Podcast — May 23, 2024
Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, Bijan, and Producer Tim discuss: The NBA Conference Finals are underway. Who will advance to the league finals, Dallas, Minnesota, Indy, or Boston? Why each team could be set or fret. Does Ty hate his beloved Celtics’ coach? It sounds like he might, right? The same with the NHL conference finals. Who will it be? Dallas? Colorado? New York? Miami, er… Florida? Ty and Everett bounced off into some kind of oblivion about F1 vs. Champions’ League vs. whatever else floated around the room. No one really knew what was happening. NIL problems just a few years into the system. Shocker!? All this and more…Leave a voicemail or text for Fan Interference by calling 336-422-NUMB (6862). Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, Bijan, and Producer Tim discuss: The NFL Draft is this week! The first three picks are pretty much locks, but what about the rest of the picks? Why do three of the four co-hosts love the draft hoopla, while one hates it? The NBA playoffs started this week, and some of the matchups are going according to predictable plans, while some aren’t. Which? Listen in. The NHL playoffs also started this week. Can a Canadian team finally win it for the first time since the early 90s? All this and more…Leave a voicemail or text for Fan Interference by calling 336-422-NUMB (6862). Fan Interference Podcast — April 18, 2024
Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, Bijan, and Producer Tim discuss: NBA is banning Jontay Porter, for life, for gambling. Is this a one-off? Or is it a real issue for the NBA? He is a player with no real name recognition, but the idea that a player can affect gambling odds is a real issue. Should college prop bets be banned? Why is Caitlin Clark’s salary being debated, and why should it or shouldn’t it matter? Is she underpaid, or is it just the economic cavern between the NBA and WNBA? Who will win the NBA playoffs? Is it time for the Warriors to cut bait and start over? All this and more…Leave a voicemail or text for Fan Interference by calling 336-422-NUMB (6862). Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, Bijan, and Producer Tim discuss: The Final Four of both NCAAM and NCAAW are upon us. Who will win? How bad will the defeats be? The Iowa/LSU game was watched by 12.3 million people (the highest-rated WBB game ever), more viewers than all but one NBA Finals game, and more than any of the Amazon Prime Football games. Moving to the NFL, who was the winner in the Stefon Diggs trade? Will this boost the Texans to upper-echelon status? How will the Bills fill the on-field void? NFL rule changes and why are they so confusing? How inconsistently will they be called? Baseball is here! Fan Interference Podcast — February 22, 2024
Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, Bijan, and Producer Tim discuss: The CFP confirmed the 5-7 model, which is not surprising to anyone. So the format will be five conference champions (ACC, SEC, B10, Big 12, and the highest “Group of Five” champion) will get the automatic bids. And there will be seven “at-large” teams chosen. The top 4 receive a first-round bye. However, you must be a conference champion to get a 1st round bye which means Notre Dame can never be ranked higher than fifth. There was some hullabaloo about the NBA All-Star game that ended 211-186. Do we need all-star games anymore? What is their benefit? Does the average fan watch or care? And, “Breaking” is now an Olympic sport? One of the gang was a VP of the “Breakdancing Club” in the 7th grade… but who? And why is this an Olympic sport? Fan Interference Podcast — February 15, 2024
Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, Bijan, and Producer Tim discuss: Bijan is IN the studio this week. Of course, there was a rather important game that happened this past weekend. Did the gang pick correctly? There is a rather intense argument about whether the game was “boring” or not. Also, did Tony Romo break the FIRST rule of broadcasting? Why does he talk so much? Caitlyn Clark will most likely break the NCAA D1 Women’s scoring record tonight. She has a real shot at the Men’s scoring record, as well. A lot of NCAAM basketball talk. Does Men’s Basketball have a problem? No one mentions basketball until after the Super Bowl. But, by the time the SB is done, there are mere weeks left in the NCAA season… All this and more…Leave a voicemail or text for Fan Interference by calling 336-422-NUMB (6862). Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, Bijan, and Producer Tim discuss: Lots of the Super Bowl. The current line (as of this recording) is San Francisco -2. with over/under at 47.5. What is at stake- Kansas City is trying to become the 9th team to repeat as Super Bowl Champion (well, 8th different team; Pittsburgh did it twice). The last time was New England in 2004 & 2005. San Fran. trying to win its sixth Super Bowl which would tie New England and Pittsburgh for the most all-time. The gang make their predictions. SEC/Big 10 Advisory committee formed, what does it mean for the NCAA/future of College football? Thoughts about the Disney, Fox, and Warner Brothers-Discovery plans for a sports streaming platform. Fan Interference Podcast — January 25, 2024
Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, and Producer Tim discuss: Jim Harbaugh to Chargers. It’s not really a surprise; all the violations at Michigan, they are going to end up vacating the title. Get out now, and hope the school can save face. Is the Chargers the right place for him? Antonio Pierce gets the full-time Raiders gig. Apparently, he was the choice of the players, and if he was not hired there would have been a revolt. Maybe true. Maybe not. But, the players got who they wanted. The Patriots hired Jarod Mayo, the youngest head coach in the NFL. Titans hired Bengals OC Brian Callahan. Is Bill’s kid the answer? Panthers surprise everyone and hire Dave Canalas, the OC of the Bucs. Commanders, Falcons, and Seahawks (as of this recording) are all still looking/interviewing. A recap of the Divisional Round and preview the Championship weekend. In MLB news, Adrian Beltre, Todd Helton, and Joe Mauer get elected to Cooperstown! Fan Interference Podcast — January 11, 2024
Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, Bijan, and Producer Tim discuss: The first episode of 2024!!! Producer Tim, an avid Steelers fan, had an epiphany and stated something even he didn’t think he’d ever say. NFL Playoffs begin this week. Who do you trust? Who are frauds? The gang gave predictions. Coaching carousel. Rivera and Smith are out in Washington and Atlanta, to no one’s surprise, but Pete Carroll is out in Seattle, and Mike Vrabel is out in Tennessee? Those were surprises. And with Belichick out in New England, which was kind of expected or at least suspected, seven teams now need coaches and that number could grow. Nick Saben retires!!! What is next for Alabama (Dabo Swinney, Lane Kiffen, or a couple of years in the wilderness)? FCS Championship: 11 of the last 13 won by “something”X” Dakota State. Why are these teams not moving up to the CFP? And speaking of the CFP Championship, Michigan trounces Washington. Surprise? No? Fan Interference Podcast — December 14, 2023
Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, and Producer Tim discuss: Last podcast of 2023. Who is your player of the year? Your team of the year? Your game of the year? The FI Gang discussed theirs. Shohei Ohtani’s $700m/10-year contract with the Dodgers. He defers 97% of the money for 10 years. Will only make $2 million per year for the first 10 years. But, really, is he worth that kind of money? Is ANYONE worth that kind of money? Ben Roethlisberger said some harsh things about the Steelers. Was he right? Was he out of line? Producer Tim thinks a little of both. Will the Patriots fire Bill Belichick at the end of the season? Either way, what will he do when he leaves? Fan Interference Podcast — December 7, 2023
Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Bijan, and Producer Tim discuss: A show that is NCAA heavy. Did FSU get screwed? Did they get it right? Can two things can be true? Heisman Trophy finalist announced. Most deserving vs. Best debate again? NCAA President Charlie Baker announced he wants the NCAA to create a new tier of D1 athletics where schools with the most resources can offer unlimited educational benefits and directly pay them through a trust fund. What would that look like? How would it affect college sports as we know them? The Patriots vs Steelers game is set at an O/U of 30, which is the lowest it’s been in almost 30 years and the fourth or fifth lowest it has ever been. Even Producer Tim, the resident Steelers fan, doesn’t know how much he cares about the game. Why does the NFL insist on putting crap games on “prime time?” All this and more…Leave a voicemail or text for Fan Interference by calling 336-422-NUMB (6862). Fan Interference Podcast — November 30, 2023
Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, and Producer Tim discuss: College Football Playoffs and what happens if Bama beats UGA? Could the SEC be left out of the playoffs? If the top 4 win this weekend, then there’s no problem. But what if…? Lots of movement in the transfer portal. It’s basically “free agency” for college sports. Who is surprised? Producer Tim got his birthday wish and Matt Canada was fired from the Steelers, and they gained over 400 yards for the first time in 58 games. Yet, they couldn’t score more than 16 points with 400+ yards. PT argues that the only stat that counts is that the opponents scored less than 16 points. The Panthers chucked first-year head coach Franch Reich just 10 weeks in. And, they had their butts handed to them. What is the problem? The players? Reich? David Tepper? Fan Interference Podcast — November 16, 2023
Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, and Producer Tim discuss: The Big Ten has suspended Jim Harbaugh for the final three games of the regular season, although there is a hearing on Friday that could allow a 2-week injunction. Is the head coach ultimately responsible for things he may not know about within the program? Why is Harbaugh suspended and not other assistants that may have had knowledge? Michigan’s rebuttal is the lack of Due Process. The Big 10 handed down the suspension before the NCAA and without any other judgment. Big Ten sighting sportsmanship clause. Jimbo Fisher was fired at Texas A&M. The goal of every American worker is to be paid $75 million NOT to work? Texas A&M revenue last season was $193 Million. The NCAA Denied James Madison’s appeal to reduce the transition period from 2 years to 1 year. JMU is 9-0 and ranked #21 but will not be in a bowl game this season. Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, and Producer Tim discuss: The Rangers have won their first-ever World Series. The Diamondbacks had several opportunities to pull it off but didn’t. Ohio State is #1, does it matter? Is anyone surprised? Dabo reacts to “Tyler from Spartanburg,” and as much as we don’t like to agree with Dabo, perhaps he was right. The NFL Trade Deadline came and went. The Commanders seem to be in TOTAL rebuild mode. The Raiders dumped Josh McDaniels, their GM, and their OC before the second half of the season. Is McDaniels that bad a coach? Fan Interference Podcast — October 26, 2023
Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Bijan, and Producer Tim discuss: The World Series is set. 3rd time in recent history that two wild card teams make it to the Fall Classic. 2002 Giants/Angels and 2014 Giants/Royals now 2023 Diamondbacks/Rangers. The crew talked about the LCS and made their predictions as to how the series will go. Jim Irsey wants the NFL to review everything in the final 2 minutes of the game. What do we think? Almost to the halfway point (there’s no halfway to 17). If the season ended today, the playoffs would look like this:AFC- Dolphins, Ravens, Jags, and Chiefs win divisions. The Steelers and Browns would be wild cards. (Bills are a half-game behind, we need them to play the same number of games)NFC – Eagles, Lions, Falcons, and 49ers win divisions. Cowboys and Seahawks are wild cards. Is this how we expected the season to go? Will it change? Michigan is cheating again. Does it matter? Do we care? Why don’t teams change their signals or at least an indicator every week? All this and more…Leave a voicemail or text for Fan Interference by calling 336-422-NUMB (6862). Fan Interference Podcast — October 19, 2023
Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Bijan, and Producer Tim discuss: Let’s talk about the baseball playoffs. Specifically, the format. Is it fair to the best teams? The Astros and Phillies have figured it out, but the Braves, Dodgers, and Orioles all won over 100 games and went 1-9 with the week off. Also, do we need 162 games? If the playoffs are a crapshoot, if we’re going to add teams, why not shorten the regular season? If the regular season matters, maybe don’t have as many playoff teams. NFL – No more “unbeaten” and let’s talk about coaching decisions. Not about individual coaches, but just overall modern coaching theory. How did some of those coaching decisions wreck the games?
