5/11/26 | The Helmet that Hell Hates | Ephesians 6:10-20; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-5:8
Ephesians 6 reminds us that spiritual warfare isn’t just about external attacks—it’s a battle for our minds, our hope, and our confidence in God’s salvation. Paul describes salvation as a helmet because hope protects us from despair, fear, temptation, and the lies of the enemy. In a world obsessed with control and consumed by anxiety, the Gospel offers something deeper: safety in Christ that frees us to surrender fully to Him. The enemy wants believers distracted, fearful, and spiritually asleep, but hope in Jesus keeps us steady and alert. When you truly believe eternity is secure, the temporary pleasures and fears of this world begin to lose their grip.Scripture:Ephesians 6:10-201 Thessalonians 4:13-5:8Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- [email protected] fccsantamaria.org

4/20/26 | "Your Truth" is Trash | Ephesians 6:10-20
We are in an ancient battle between the kingdom of God and the enemy, and most of the conflict happens in the unseen decisions of our daily lives. In Ephesians 6, Paul doesn’t just describe armor; he reveals the character of God that we are called to “put on” every day—truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and the Word. The real fight is not about external threats, but about whether we will rely on ourselves or on God’s nature as our source of reality and direction. This message challenges the instinct to trust our hearts and instead anchors us in who God actually is. What if spiritual warfare is less about fighting harder—and more about surrendering who gets to define truth in your life?Scripture:Ephesians 6:10-20 (NLT)Prov 18:1(ESV)Jeremiah 17:9 (ESV)Ecclesiastes 9:3 (ESV)Romans 3:10-12 (ESV)Deuteronomy 32:4 (ESV)Titus 1:2 (NIV)Psalm 119:160 (ESV)Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- [email protected] fccsantamaria.org

4/13/26 | Are we Dressed for Church or for Battle? | Ephesians 6:10-20
Most Christians know the phrase “put on the armor of God”—but few actually live like they’re in a war. Ephesians 6 reminds us that spiritual battles are not occasional, they’re constant, and standing firm requires intentional, daily action. This armor isn’t something we admire—it’s something we actively put on through prayer, Scripture, and dependence on the Holy Spirit. The enemy is strategic, deceptive, and relentless, but we don’t fight for victory—we fight from it. This message is a wake-up call: if you’re not suiting up, you’re leaving yourself exposed.Scripture:Ephesians 6:10-20Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- [email protected] fccsantamaria.org

3/23/26 | Grafted in by Grace | Romans 10:18 - 11:24
Romans 11 reminds us that being part of God’s family isn’t something we earned—it’s something we’ve been graciously grafted into. Using the image of a tree, Paul warns believers not to become proud or complacent, but to remain rooted in faith and humility. God is both kind and severe—welcoming those who trust Him while cutting off those who reject Him. Tonight we'll challenge our tendency to take grace for granted and calls us to examine the posture of our hearts. At the end of the day, it’s not about what you’ve been given—it’s about whether you stay connected to the source.Scripture:Romans 10:18 - 11:24Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- [email protected] fccsantamaria.org

3/16/26 | You can't Follow Jesus with a Backup Plan | Romans 9:30-10:17
In Romans 9–10, Paul reveals a tragic truth: the people who knew God’s law best still missed the salvation standing right in front of them. They clung to what was familiar instead of trusting what God was doing through Jesus. The gospel invites us into something radically different—a living relationship with God that requires faith, vulnerability, and obedience. But like Israel, we often choose comfort, safety, and the patterns we know instead of stepping into God’s calling. This message challenges us to release the things holding us back and step fully into the life and mission God has for us.Scripture:Romans 9:25-33Romans 10:1-17Deuteronomy 18:15-19Psalms 23:1-6Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- [email protected] fccsantamaria.org

12/8/25 | You Don’t Hate Sin as Much as Sin Hates You | Romans 7:7-25
Romans 7 exposes something every believer feels: the internal war between what we know is right and what we actually do. Paul teaches that the law isn’t the problem — it’s holy, good, and reveals the sin we were blind to. God uses His standard to convict us, expose us, and lead us into transformation, not condemnation. Though sin deceives and battles within us, freedom is not found in trying harder but in Jesus Christ our Lord.Scripture:Romans 7:7-25Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- [email protected] fccsantamaria.org

12/1/25 | Stop Cheating on Grace with Religion | Romans 7:1-6
December 1, 2025Romans 7 teaches that following Jesus isn’t about obeying God out of pressure — it’s about loving God out of freedom. Paul uses the picture of a marriage covenant to show that when we died with Christ, we were released from the law and united to Him in new life. Instead of producing a harvest of rebellion, our union with Jesus now produces a harvest of good fruit. This message explores the difference between religion and relationship, and how the Holy Spirit empowers us to live in love, not legalism. Real transformation flows not from trying harder, but from living connected to Christ.Scripture:Romans 7:1-6Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- [email protected] fccsantamaria.org

11/17/25 | Becoming a Slave to Righteousness | Romans 6:15-23
Series: "The Epistle of Paul to the Romans" This world is divided by so much right now. We must remember that there is much which unites us as humans. We are all united by our sinful desires, but also in our need for a savior. To become united as God's people, we cannot be slaves to sin, but rather slaves to righteousness through Jesus Christ.Scripture:Romans 6:15-23Romans 6:1-42 Peter 2:20-22Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- [email protected] fccsantamaria.org

11/10/25 | The Old You Called - Don't Pick Up. | Romans 6:1-14
Series: "The Epistle of Paul to the Romans" Romans 6 is a call to live like the resurrection actually changed us. Paul reminds believers that sin’s power is broken — we’re no longer slaves, no longer controlled by what once ruled us. Through Christ’s death and resurrection, we have the freedom to live new lives, not by our own strength but by grace. Sanctification means dying to sin and coming alive to righteousness — a daily choice to yield our bodies, desires, and habits to God. Real faith doesn’t just believe in Jesus’ victory; it lives from it.Scripture:Romans 6:1-14Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- [email protected] fccsantamaria.org

11/3/25 | The New Humanity is In Session | Romans 5:12-21
Series: "The Epistle of Paul to the Romans" In Romans 5, Paul parallels the transgression of Adam with the obedience of Jesus, not to compare two humans, but to highlight a new form of humanity. This new humanity has a new kind of life - not just longer, and not just sinless in a moral sense - but it shares in the abundant overflowing overjoying nature of God's own life.Scripture:Romans 5:12-21Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- [email protected] fccsantamaria.org

“What’s in Your Hands? Stewarding God’s Gifts for Eternity”
God has entrusted every believer with gifts—abilities meant not for self-promotion, but for serving others and glorifying Him. Scripture reminds us that the body of Christ thrives only when each member plays their part, from the seemingly small roles to the most visible ones. This sermon unpacks how to discover your spiritual gifts, how to faithfully steward them with excellence, and how to shift your perspective toward eternity in how you live and serve. When we offer our hands, hearts, and gifts to God, He multiplies them to build His Kingdom and bring glory to Christ.Scripture:Colossians 3:1-21 Corinthians 12:12-311 peter 4:10-11Romans 12:6-8Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- [email protected] fccsantamaria.org

A Biblical Perspective on this Cultural Moment
This message addresses how followers of Jesus can process a week filled with tragedy, violence, and confusion. While culture spins stories and social media fuels division, Scripture reminds us that we are living in a spiritual battle far deeper than politics or headlines. The enemy is actively working to blind, divide, and derail—but Jesus remains victorious, sovereign, and present. In this sermon, we’ll look at how to view cultural chaos through God’s eyes, how to respond as the Church with prayer and courage, and what it means to count the cost of following Christ in our generation.Scripture:Ephesians 6:10-12Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- [email protected] fccsantamaria.org

When My Limits Lead me to God
We all face moments when identity struggles, unmet expectations, and anxiety seem unshakable—even after we’ve tried every “Christian” answer we know. The problem isn’t that Scripture isn’t enough; it’s that we sometimes use it like a band-aid instead of seeing the deeper truth it points to. In Exodus 3–4, God meets Moses in his insecurity, not by inflating his ego, but by shifting his focus from his own limitations to God’s sufficiency. Our potential and our limitations are two sides of the same coin—both designed to lead us to rely on God. When we take our eyes off ourselves and fix them on Him, we find the strength to walk where He calls.Scripture:Exodus 3: 1-22Exodus 4: 1-31Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- [email protected] fccsantamaria.org

Righteousness through Faith
This week, we will be going over Romans 4:1-12, to better understand what Paul is saying in his thorough presentation of God's gospel in Christ Jesus. Paul describes Abraham's righteousness as not stemming from the works of the law (as the law hadn't been given to Israel at that point), but through belief in God (obedience, love, faith and trust). This would have been unfamiliar to many of the Jewish believers at the time, since the teachers of the law pressed onto perfection in the law and the acquisition of God's righteousness through that way. However, God's standard stressed perfect obedience, which was not possible, and God knew that, so it is through faith in His Son, who took our penalty and became our sin, that we might become God's righteousness in Him (through faith in Jesus Christ) and this was for all who accepted Christ, not only the circumcised, but also those who have not been, since they share the same circumcision in their hearts (the same seal of faith in Christ Jesus).Scripture:Romans 4:1-12Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- [email protected] fccsantamaria.org

By Grace through Faith
In a world where we're constantly trying to prove ourselves—morally, spiritually, even socially—Romans 3:19-31 offers good news: we can stop striving and start trusting. This passage confronts the futility of earning righteousness through the law and reveals the heart of the gospel—God makes us right with Him not through our performance, but through faith in Jesus. Whether you feel burdened by guilt or prideful in your goodness, this message invites you to rest in the righteousness that only God provides.Scripture:Romans 3:19-31Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- [email protected] fccsantamaria.org

God's Righteousness is Generous AND Just
In Romans 3:21-30 Paul says God's righteousness has been revealed. Jesus Christ has been put forward as the new mercy seat, establishing the sacred, tabernacling presence of God on planet earth once again and empowering the formation of a just community. This is no arbitrary venting of wrath - this is the restoration of the human vocation so that God's purposes can be fulfilled... and that is what we call justice.Scripture:Romans 3:21-31Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- [email protected] fccsantamaria.org

Talk is Cheap
The right action done with the wrong intent, is in fact the wrong action. God desires for His people to be holy in all of life. Paul condemns the Jews for being people who said one thing and then did another, and did not practice what they preached. Instead, God desires that His people's words, thoughts, heart, and actions are aligned and that his people are transparent, even when they don't "look good" on the outside.

Bad news...great news in Romans 2:1-16
We have all sinned, we all fall under God and we can't look down on anyone else. Those who follow the law are condemned by the law that they can't keep, those who follow their own standards fail their own standards. Yet, we are judged by the perfect Lord Jesus Christ and this also offers hope.Scripture:Romans 3:23, Romans 2:1-16Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- [email protected] fccsantamaria.org

When God Lets Go: The Danger of Rebellion
May 12, 2025What happens when humanity trades the truth of God for a lie? Romans 1 paints a sobering picture of what it means when God gives people over to the desires of their own hearts. In a world full of idols shaped in our own image, we're reminded that God's wrath is not impulsive anger—but the righteous response to our willful rebellion. This message will challenge what you think about sin, culture, and the cost of rejecting the Creator for created things.Scripture:Romans 1:17-32Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- [email protected] fccsantamaria.org

Romans: Eager to Encourage
Paul begins by thanking God for the Roman believers, whose faith was so vibrant it was known throughout the world—reminding us that gratitude and prayer must be the foundation of all Christian relationships and ministry. He emphasizes his deep desire to visit and encourage them, reflecting the mutual strengthening that comes through Christian fellowship and the shared pursuit of spiritual growth. Finally, Paul boldly declares the power and necessity of the gospel, for it alone reveals God's righteousness and offers salvation to all who believe—Jew and Gentile alike—by faith from start to finish.Scripture:Romans 1:8-16Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- [email protected] fccsantamaria.org

Habakkuk 1:1-4 - Confronting Generational Sin & Doubts
In this intro to Habakkuk, we dive into the story of Judah's decline and the prophet Habakkuk's cry for justice. Habakkuk sees a world filled with violence and corruption, and his doubts about God's silence reflect the struggles many of us face when our experiences don't match what we know about God's promises. Is doubt a sign of weak faith? Or an opportunity for God to prove Himself; inviting us to trust Him despite our circumstances? We also confront the impact of generational sin—how issues like abuse, addiction, and anger can be passed down through the family line, and how through Jesus we have the power to break these cycles for generations to come.Scripture:Habakkuk 1:1-4

Discipleship Happens in the Heart

The Humble Belong Here
Culture convinces us that to welcome someone means to "entertain" - to have the well arranged house, the right food, the mood lighting, the perfect music and vibe.In contrast, Jesus shows in the story of Zacchaeus that by leading from a place of humility and weakness we make space for the weakness of others. November 11, 2024Paul encourages believers to live worthy of the gospel, embracing a life marked by unity, humility, and joy—focused not on temporary circumstances but on eternal realities. He challenges us to align our priorities with the eternal perspective that transcends earthly struggles and ambitions. This call to live in light of eternity means our daily choices, attitudes, and relationships reflect the hope we have in Christ.
