FIVE FROM SEVENS AND TWELVES
by Dave and Mark
Our hosts, Dave and Mark, are two music obsessives who first met in 2008 at the community radio station RTRFM 92.1 in Perth, Western Australia. Bonding over a love of post punk and other alternative music genres, they soon began making music together and are still heavily involved in the city's fertile local music scene. They also like nothing more than a yarn about music, and their favourite (or not so favourite) bands. These conversations are often amusing, sometimes serious and occasionally, potentially libellous. Thus, the idea for this podcast was born. Each episode the lads choose a theme and each select five songs to explore the topic. The show is free flowing and so the facts are sometimes hazy and the chat can go in any direction. This is not your typical music show.

Songs About Space
Send us Fan MailIts safe to say that us humans have always been curious about what exists beyond what we can see with our own eyes. By 1400 BCE, discovered Hindu texts show that we were already beginning to map the space around us. Astrology can be broadly considered the search for human meaning in the sky. It makes sense then, that artists, including musicians and film makers, have always found huge inspiration in the space around us. It also makes for some great metaphors. On this episode we showcase four bands who did just that. We also look briefly at TV and film, who in particular have often tapped into the mystery and immense wonder of the universe to great effect. Alternative Music Documentaries
Send us Fan MailGiven his somewhat unhealthy obsession with music documentaries, Mark takes the lead on this episode. Focussing on five lesser known documentaries, covering the stories of some really interesting bands. From the challenges of touring in a small van, for weeks on end, to dealing with profound loss. All these films have something in common, they are all: fascinating, entertaining and heartbreaking . Violence in music

ABOUT THIS SHOW
Our hosts, Dave and Mark, are two music obsessives who first met in 2008 at the community radio station RTRFM 92.1 in Perth, Western Australia.
