Happy New Year! I didn't want to spend my first Monday of the year trying to protect my identity from being stolen but that is exactly what I did. It took about two hours of time and energy and the stress of the situation definitely shortened my life expectancy but I think I succeeded in protecting myself. The cast is made up of 120 volunteers, the choir is 150 voices strong and the animals add the "cherry on top" to the dramatic recreation of the Christmas story.  How did the Nativity Pageant become a thing in Knoxville? Technology is getting weirder and weirder. In the past couple of months I have had two encounters with the Meta glasses. Back in June there was story on the local news about Rodney Lee. He had a heart attack while out on a local Knoxville nature trail. He encountered a Good Samaritan, Zach during his ordeal and Zach was able to assist Rodney until EMTs arrived. After his hospital stay, Rodney was on a mission to thank Zach. The last time I had to find a new general practitioner the process was so easy. I had a buddy recommend a doctor to me, they took my insurance, bada bing boda boom I had a doctor for the next 17 years. Then he retired. It has been 7 days since Hurricane Helene hit East Tennessee and North Carolina. There are still people missing. There are still people cut off from the world. There are so many people who lost everything.  For the last 6 days, once I fully realized the severity of the situation, I have been praying Romans 15:13 over the people affected by the storm. As of publishing it has been 6 days since Hurricane Helene ravaged East Tennessee and Western North Carolina. Yesterday I tagged along with Nancy Barger and Producer Karly from the Joey and Nancy Morning Show on WIVK and we followed our supply truck up to Erwin, Tennessee. It was an emotionally heavy day seeing the devastation our neighbors have endured. But there was an interesting moment of levity and we relished it. The collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore has been one of the hardest things to wrap my mind around. My eyes see it, my brain says yes I see it but then there is a breakdown.
