You Can't Heal What You Refuse To Acknowledge
We seem to accept anxiety and depression as personal problems — but what if they’re actually responses to the societal and political climate we’re living in?In this episode, I've invited Christine, a progressive counselor to the show. Her focus is across the lifespan — from kids and adolescents, to adults and healthcare workers — specializing in trauma, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and major life transitions.Together, we explore what therapists are seeing right now, why “nothing’s happening in my town” doesn’t mean nothing is happening to us; and how privilege, hypervigilance, and community play a part in affecting our mental health. From Midwest resilience to collective burnout, this episode challenges the idea that healing can happen in isolation — and asks what it really means to acknowledge reality rather than avoiding it. Or worse, mistreating it.__________________________JOIN THE FROM DIRT WE GROW FAMILY, SUBSCRIBE NOW! __________________________Find Christine on socials under the tag: Life_as_a_counselor __________________________*intro/outro audio: The Plot Thickens by Joshua SpachtOwner: Soundstripe, Inc.

Can We Remove Money From Power?
Both political parties claim to represent the people. So why does nothing ever change?Today an open-source candidate, Winston Jordan, joins me on the show. He believes neither side is working for everyday Americans — and he’s done waiting for them to fix it.Frustrated with the lack of movement on HR 415 and other stalled legislation, he decided to stop complaining and start building. Literally. He programs his own platforms. He builds AI-driven communication tools. And he’s running outside of traditional party structures to challenge the system from the ground up.We talk about:• Why both parties stall meaningful reform• What “open-source politics” actually means• Whether technology can restore accountability• Why grassroots candidates struggle to gain traction• And what it would take to truly disrupt the political machineThis isn't just another candidate interview, this is a different way to think about and look at power. She Ran and Lost. What's Next? Advocate. Activist. Volunteer.
This episode features a women's rights advocate, an activist, a community volunteer, who ran for senate in 2024 - and didn't win. But that's not where her story ends. Instead of walking away, Tracy doubled down. Volunteering, organizing, showing up. We talk about what running for office really costs, why losing doesn't mean failure, and how real change is often built far outside campaigning. We talk about family, abortion, women's rights, and a movement called "The Visibility Brigade". This One Reform Can Fix Many Other Societal Failures
Running for congress in Michigan's 2nd district is Jamie Hill. With a background in healthcare, Jamie believes that by making it a single-payer system, many other societal breakdowns will begin to dissipate. They have a solid grasp on the snowball effect that the failings our current healthcare system has across housing, employment, mental health, and the justice system. They join me today to talk about it, and what real change could look like for society when given the chance to implement this one reformation.Jamie is willing to put in the work and work for the people. They Let You Vote - But They Choose the Options
We're told to vote. Vote more. Vote every election like our lives depend on it.But after speaking with multiple candidates lately - people running without corporate money, without party machines, without special access - one truth kept surfacing. The problem isn't that people don't vote. The problem is who were allowed to vote for.So in this episode, we're breaking down how the political system filters candidates long before Election Day. Through ballot access laws, fundraising barriers, party gatekeeping, and rules most voters never see. Because by the time a name reaches your ballot, the real decisions have often already been made. This is about understanding why good candidates struggle to be seen and why so many elections feel like choosing between pre approved options instead of real representation. Because the truth is, we are voting. So the problem isn't on the people, it's on the system.___________________________SUBSCRIBE NOW FOR MORE UNFILTERED TRUTH!BE SURE TO SHARE THIS EPISODE.___________________________*intro/outro audio: The Plot Thickens by Joshua SpachtOwner: Soundstripe, Inc.

The Conversation Corporate-Backed Politicians Don't Want Us Having
When did politics stop serving people — and start serving donors? Or has it always been that way?In this conversation, I sit down with Wisconsin gubernatorial candidate Francesca Hong to talk about the issues that rarely get honest airtime: corporate influence, the truth about Wisconsin's prison stats, and the real-life consequences for working families, and farms, across Wisconsin.Full transparency, this is a system that prioritizes special interests over the people who keep this state, along with every other state across the country, running. From housing and healthcare to labor, accountability, and representation — this is the conversation corporate-backed politics deflect at all costs. Because when people start connecting the dots, power gets uncomfortable. And it's high time we get real comfortable with causing some discomfort for a change. ______________________SHARE THIS EPISODE NOW!! ______________________ Find today's guest, Francesca Hong, on socials: On IG - francescahongwi join team hong! - https://thelink.bio/francescahongwi On FB - Francesca Hong On TikTok - francescahong On Bluesky - francescahongwi.bsky.social On YT - FrancescaHongWI _________________________Other helpful resources:know your rights - https://www.cityofmadison.com/council/district10/blog/2025-11-07/kyr-know-your-rightsVOCES hotline - 800- 427-0213DMFrancesca for more tips - @FrancescaHongWI _________________________ *intro/outro audio: The Plot Thickens by Joshua Spacht Owner: Soundstripe, Inc.

They Followed the Rules - And Still Got Silenced
What happens when everyday citizens try to use the constitution the way it was intended - to hold those in power accountable? That's just what Citizen's Impeachment has set out to do, an online movement that gained real momentum before it was suddenly stopped in it's tracks.According to one of the founders, Keira Havens, it wasn't lack of support that postponed their goal - it goes much deeper than that. She tells us how it started, and where and why it hit a wall. But that still did not stop them. Their efforts remain strong, the mission stays in sight. What's important to remember when learning about a citizen-led movement such as this, is the reason it's even necessary for the people to have organized in the first place. And that's because the rest of the elected officials in place to advocate for us, are not doing their jobs. __________________________SHARE THIS EPISODE NOW!__________________________Find Citizen's Impeachment on socials:website - https://www.citizensimpeachment.comAlso on Instagram, Facebook, and Bluesky under the name Citizens Impeachment___________________________*intro/outro audio: The Plot Thickens by Joshua SpachtOwner: Soundstripe, Inc.

Candidate For Governor Focused On Citizen-led Oversight, Accountability Beyond the Ballot Box
Voting alone hasn't been enough and people are finally asking why. In this episode, I sit down with Rodney Glover, a gubernatorial candidate who's running on a bold idea: giving citizens constitutional, binding authority to hold elected officials accountable beyond the ballot box. This is where real issues meet real change: Why voting every few years isn't real accountability How power drifted away from the people What citizen-led oversight could actually look like and why it's important The difference between symbolic reform and structural change Why this race isn't about left versus right, it's about control versus consent This is a conversation about who actually holds power and how that could actually change. We're constantly told that we need to get out and vote to make a difference, yet it's not about the voting numbers this time around as much as it's about who we're listening to, who we're trusting with our voices and our lives, and if we decide it's time to break away from the same old system that's not working for the people. Join the conversation. Question everything. Change the game. _______________________________________________ SHARE, SHARE, SHARE!!! _______________________________________________ Find more from today's guest, Rodney Glover: https://linktr.ee/rodney.c.glover ______________________________________________ *intro/outro audio: The Plot Thickens by Joshua Spacht Owner: Soundstripe, Inc. Crisis In America. The Way To Stop It Starts Right HERE.
America is in crisis - and most of the politicians in power don't feel it, don't see it, or don't care. But the people do. People that are living it everyday. People like Robert People. A grassroots congressional candidate who stepped up not for fame, not for money, not for a career... but because he was watching the country fall apart and couldn't sit back and watch anymore. Running for Florida's 15th district and not intimidated by the uphill battle it will take to get a seat in the House of Representatives. This episode covers government failings, issues being ignored by leaders, and most importantly, solutions to some of those problems. If you're tired of being lied to.... tired of the greed... tired of watching the working class get crushed... this episode is for you. Real change starts with us, and voting for the candidates that are running for the right reasons, not greed or power, is the first step. ______________________________________ Don't forget to share this episode with your friends! ______________________________________ Find today's guest on socials: @robertpeopleforcongress _________________________________ *intro/outro audio: The Plot Thickens by Joshua Spacht Owner: Soundstripe, Inc. Black Men Found Hanging Across America. Where's the Media Coverage?
Why are so many Black men across the United States being found hanging - and why are every one of them almost immediately dismissed with "no signs of foul play" without any real investigation? Yes, I'm referring to now, modern-day. The trend has become too strong to ignore. It's time to confront the disturbing rise in suspicious hanging deaths of Black men in America. It's time to bring these stories to the fore-front, get eyes and ears on them, because the media is not. It's time to ask the real questions surrounding the circumstances. Were these deaths truly "by their own hand"... or is something far more sinister at play? Today we'll look at such cases as the one involving Donte Perez Jones, a military veteran whose 2022 death was declared as having no foul play involved, within hours, despite multiple suspicious circumstances. As well as a 21 year old truck driver, Javion MaGee, found dead far from his Chicago home in a town he'd never been before. These aren't isolated incidents or simple tragedies. These cases along with so many more, fit a pattern that echoes America's darkest, ugliest part of history. All too often a history that's too uncomfortable for many to address, keeping the too uncomfortable conversations that are so needed, silenced. Well guess what, I really have zero concern as to the comfort level of those who'd rather ignore the truth and allow this to continue, than acknowledge it and stand for justice and accountability from law enforcement. Pretending it doesn't exist, doesn't make it go away. Standing up and calling it out, does. Obama Created Division? WRONG!! You Can't Create What Already Exists. Exposing It However...
Did Barack Obama really "divide America"? Or did America finally get exposed for what it already was? In today's episode we breakdown one of the most persistent political myths of the last decade - the idea that Obama somehow made the country more hostile, tense, or divided. We dig into the psychology, the media spin, the historical context, and the uncomfortable truth that many people still avoid. This episode looks at: Why the "Obama caused division" narrative became so popular The media machine that turned discomfort into outrage How visibility and technology exposed problems that already existed Why some groups feel threatened by a shift in representation The real legacy of the Obama years that people forget How the myth was used to justify the political backlash that followed If you've ever wondered why certain people insist that the country fell apart under Obama, even though the facts say otherwise, this episode brings clarity and truth without sugar coating anything. _______________________________________________ Join the From Dirt We Grow family, hit subscribe today! _________________________________________ *intro/outro audio: The Plot Thickens by Joshua Spacht Owner: Soundstripe, Inc. ________________________________________________ SOURCES: NIH This is a public episode. American Greed Literally Makes (And Keeps) You Sick. Listen To Your Gut.
We've been taught to hand our health — and our power — over to a system that profits from keeping us sick. Pills for symptoms. Labels for pain. Quick fixes for a lifetime of disconnection. But what if your body already knows how to heal itself — if you'd just learn to listen? This episode flips the script on the Western medicine model that treats you like a pill popping cash cow, rather than a human being with real human needs. We talk about gut health as the real foundation of healing — where the body, mind, and soul meet. Today's guest, a Certified Nutrition Specialist, Jena Salisbury, breaks down how what you eat, think, and feel all shape your physical reality. This isn't about chasing another "miracle cure." No natural herbs or home remedies. It's about reclaiming the truth the system buried under prescription pads and profit margins: Your body is not broken. THIS Is the Unfiltered Truth Behind America's BROKEN Foundation, and Why It's Finally Crumbling
THIS IS THE MOST RAW, POWERFUL, CAN'T MISS EPISODE OF FROM DIRT WE GROW YET. America didn't break overnight — it was built on cracks. In this explosive episode of From Dirt We Grow, we dig deep beneath the chaos to expose the three systems that broke America — the economic, the justice, and the political machines — and how they've worked together for decades to keep power, profit, and control in the hands of the few. We trace why they are the way they are — how our economy was designed for extraction, not opportunity… how "justice" became an industry of control… and how our politics turned into a marketing campaign funded by billionaires and fueled by division. But this isn't just another rant. This is a roadmap. Because if these systems were built by people, they can be rebuilt by people — together. You'll hear how we can start demanding better — not as Democrats or Republicans, but as citizens who've had enough of being pitted against each other while the real power brokers cash in on our outrage. This episode is about truth, accountability, and reconstruction — not just of our institutions, but of our mindset as a nation. 🔥 We can't fix what we won't face. PTSD: War Wounds They Don't Want To Even Hear About
When we think of war, we picture the battlefield. But for many veterans, the hardest fight begins once they return home. In this episode, I sit down with James Mummert, a veteran who opens up about the deep mental health struggles he faced during and after his service—and how a culture of silence, stigma, and neglect within the military left those struggles untreated. His story is not an isolated one; it's a reflection of a crisis faced by countless men and women who've worn the uniform. This conversation isn't about politics—it's about humanity, awareness, and the urgent need to change how we care for those who served. How is anyone, anywhere expected to have any respect for or trust in a governing body that uses, lies to, abuses, and discards their own citizens? Executive Orders = Attacks on Democracy: Fair Banking, Bail Crackdown, Woke AI Ban
Even more of Trump's executive orders that have to be scrutinized beyond their titles made to sound good on paper - because when you dig deeper, they reveal dangerous hypocrisy, selective application, and hidden power grabs. In this episode, we break down three more orders worth delving into: "Guaranteeing Fair Banking For All Americans" - but inside, the mentions of Americans included is extremely limited. "Taking Steps To End Cashless Bail To Protect Americans" - a direct attack on the presumption of innocence and state rights. "Preventing Woke AI In The Federal Government" - a move to lock political bias into government technology. Join me in connecting the dots to show how these policies aren't about fairness or safety, and certainly not the greater good of society as a whole. They're about control, rewriting history, and stacking the system on one side. His. Truth, democracy, and the future of this country are at stake with every power play this administration makes. _____________________________ Subscribe NOW for more unfiltered political truth! _________________________ SOURCES: -Whitehouse.gov https://www.whitehouse.gov/ -U.S. Department of Treasury https://home.treasury.gov/ -Judiciary website https://judiciary.house.gov/ This is a public episode. Rewriting History?!?! America's Memory Makeover
President Trump 2.0 has thus far signed a hefty amount of executive orders . There are quite a few that beg a closer look, and I'm here for it! Here at From Dirt We Grow, we are all about pushing past surface level rhetoric and narratives to expose the roots. And that's just what we're going to do in today's episode with one such order named, "Restoring Truth and Sanity To American History". Without even reading anything beyond the title, the red flags are popping up everywhere. The sheer volume of questions that title invokes is quite astonishing. We break down and expose the way he runs the country mirrors his failed business ventures: overpromising, underdelivering, and leaving others to pay the price. From bankrupt casinos to corrupt policies, the pattern is clear — Trump governs the same way he ran his businesses: for show, for profit, and at the expense of everyone else. Hypocrisy is a common theme that continues to surround the actions and words of this administration. How far will they take it? Find out the answer to that by joining me on this episode that takes a hard look at how rewriting history fuels division and why restoring truth is the only path to progress. We talk about why it's so important to keep teaching our true history, the actual, albeit ugly and disgraceful, history of America, not the whitewashed version. Let's talk about why this dangerous move matters for the future of democracy. If you care about truth, accountability, and keeping history honest, this is a conversation you can't afford to miss. _______________________ Join the From Dirt We Grow family, subscribe now! _______________________ Sources: -Whitehouse.gov https://www.whitehouse.gov/ -U.S. Senate https://www.senate.gov/ -Human Genome Project https://www.genome.gov/about-genomics/educational-resources/fact-sheets/human-genome-project This is a public episode. DJT Unleashes America's Own Military On It's Own Citizens. For the Protection Of Who Though? Or What?
The fake words promise better policing to reduce crime and protect citizens, but the actions show a different narrative. Who is he really protecting — the people, or those in power? In this episode of From Dirt We Grow, we dig into executive orders, broken systems, and the hypocrisy behind claims of justice, exposing how 'safety' often comes at the expense of our freedoms. What happens when law and order means censorship, mass incarceration, and protecting the powerful over the powerless? This episode challenges the narrative — and asks: Law and order for who? Host Stephanie Kendall exposes the truth behind the White House's executive order, "Strengthening and Unleashing America's Law Enforcement". What sounds like public safety is really another weaponized law and order agenda that protects power, not people. This is a must watch if you care about justice, accountability, and protecting civil rights. You're More Powerful Than the System Wants You To Believe
What if I told you the biggest threat to those in power isn't a foreign adversary, a rogue politician, or even a broken system — it's us. United. In this episode, we dig deeper into the concept of unity — the one thing powerful enough to truly shake the broken foundations of our divided nation. We explore why politicians and media outlets work so hard to keep us at each other's throats, and how differences have been weaponized to distract us from our shared struggles, our shared adversary. We'll unpack the true cost of division: economic setbacks, community breakdown, and the erosion of critical thinking. We'll also imagine what real unity could look like — and why it terrifies the people pulling the strings. Because at the end of the day, it's not about left vs. right. It's about the top vs. the rest of us. If you're tired of fighting your neighbors instead of the real enemy, this episode is for you. Let's break the cycle and reclaim our power — together. ____________________________ Don't forget to share this episode with your friends! ______________________________ *intro/outro audio: The Plot Thickens by Joshua Spacht Owner: Soundstripe, Inc. Misusing Religion and Misunderstanding Growth
Changing routines is not easy, changing your mind about a deeply held belief is almost impossible, at least it seems that way. This episode covers a few topics as they relate to change. First we'll look at the real source of America's biggest problems. Spoiler: it's not your neighbors. While we're busy blaming each other, the government continues to slap band aids on deep systemic wounds rather than addressing root causes. Change often stirs fear because it disrupts the familiar and challenges our sense of control. However, change itself is not the enemy, fear is. We naturally resist the unknown, clinging to routines that make us feel safe. By shifting our perspective - seeing change not as a threat, but as an opportunity - we open ourselves to evolution, wisdom, and progress. Embracing change is essential, because growth is impossible without it. In this next segment we take a hard look at the version of Christianity often preached today. This version seems more rooted in control, judgment and political power than in love, humility, or truth. Why have we weaponized faith to avoid self-reflection and accountability? We are going to explore how religion, when distorted, can become a shield against personal growth instead of a guide toward it. This isn't about attacking belief, it's about reclaiming its original purpose. This is a public episode. This Land Is My Land, This Land Is NOT Your Land - The Immigration Hypocrisy No One Wants To Admit.
The double standards embedded in America's immigration enforcement is more clear than ever. What we're witnessing isn't just flawed policy - it's the latest chapter in a tale as old as time: r*cism masquerading as national interest. For generations, America has used its laws to enforce social hierarchies, often built on racial lines. From who gets welcomed to who gets punished, who is feared versus who is forgiven. The patterns don't lie. Immigration enforcement, like so many other areas of American law, reveals a deeper, uncomfortable truth: it's less about justice and more about preserving power. We know the system is broken, but what's worse, is that it's also working just as intended. Increased funding for law enforcement, such as the ICE agency, means more families being needlessly torn apart, continued violations of constitutional rights, lives violently disrupted, and more detainees to house. Meanwhile, the U.S. jails and prisons are over crowded and under-funded as it is. It's important to note that consistent violations of and disregard for constitutional rights, creates the habit that soon will become normalized. _________________________________ Don't forget to share this episode with your friends! __________________________________ SOURCES: NY Times https://www.nytimes.com/ Cato Institute https://www.cato.org This is a public episode.
