Things like potholes, graffiti, interesting architecture, neighborhood association meetings and political conventions, odd local traditions & characters, local politicians both bland and provocative, and neighborhood businesses. Through covering her neighborhood, Taylor has learned a lot about how the city works. Her work helps make the mundane entertaining and has helped expose opportunistic politicians and fraudulent candidates. Recently Minneapolis catapulted into headlines with Trump's anti-immigrant surge & Minneapolis residents' resistance. This ostensibly started from a right wing YouTuber creating a hit piece on a Somali daycare center in Taylor’s neighborhood. The federal operation has subsided & the media has mostly moved on. So it seemed like a good time to talk with Taylor about her perspective on all this and more.I accidentally only recorded the audio of our conversation, so this is an audio-only episode.
