The Legendary/Infamous "Judgment Night" Soundtrack
In 1993 a film emerged entitled Judgment Night featuring some high-profile starts (of the time), Emilio Estevez, Dennis Leary, Jeremy Piven, and Cuba Gooding Jr. to name a few. However, more notable than the actors, and shoot, even more notable than the movie itself, was the film's soundtrack. Released on Immortal Records (home to West-Coast legends, Funkdoobiest & Volume 10) the Judgment Night soundtrack took the fusion of rock and rap to a whole new level. By pairing acts like Biohazard, Teenage Fanclub, Sonic Youth, and Mudhoney with Hip-Hop acts such as Del The Funkee Homosapien, Onyx, Sir Mix-A-Lot, and De La Soul, the Judgment Night soundtrack made fans see a clear path to what would later become "Rock Rap" and inspire such acts as Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park. Listen as Sean Kantrowitz talks to journalists and musical performers from the soundtrack to find out more about the history and experience of what it was like to be a part of something so ahead of it's time.Follow our socials @hiphopgoldrush and @stupidflymediaSupport Stupid Fly by checking out our merch at www.stupid-fly.comSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
