The Mouse Trap (2024)
A curveball episode to take a step back from traditionally analytic-heavy content, Carla ditches the script to casually converse about a horror comedy that thoroughly shook her to her core. While still exploring extremely thrilling topics like copyright law and public domain there was plenty of time to rant about the current state of horror comedies, nostalgiabait, and...the adultification of Disney cartoons. Tonight's wine of choice is perhaps an unlikely pairing but you can count on this Sauvignon Blanc to sweeten the deal.Available on YouTube 12/22/2025 @ 4 PM CSThttps://linktr.ee/goreandgrapes

Late Night with the Devil (2024)
Wow, talk about timing! With themes of the occult and parapsychology, Carla reviews a unique film just in time for spooky season to her delight. Starting off strong with discussing deals with the devil and the horrors of night time TV, there is so much to learn on Episode 4. However, the film found itself in controversy that shrouds the film to this day that audience members cannot ignore. A certified favorite Cabernet Sauvignon accompanies Carla that is also appreciated visually!Available on YouTube 10/20/2025 @ 4 PM CSThttps://linktr.ee/goreandgrapes

The Thing (1982)
She's alive...again?After yet another unexpected hiatus, Carla admits things were not working out in her professional life but amidst the great uncertainty she comes back full force with a fantastic review of a horror/sci-fi classic refreshed and renewed. Tackling some obvious themes of freezing temperatures and paranoia, she dives into masculinity: a theme rarely discussed surrounding the film. Carla mistakenly says the New Zealand white wine presented in the episode to be the first NZ wine on the podcast but is nonetheless impressed by her choice of pairing.Available on YouTube.https://linktr.ee/goreandgrapes

With themes of Spanish influence on the film, an American perspective, mazes and labyrinths, and missed opportunities there is plenty to dive into. All appears to be normal until Carla presents a quite unusual New Zealand bottle of wine...Available on YouTube @ 2 PM.https://linktr.ee/goreandgrapes

House of Wax (1953) ft. Ruben L. Garza Jr.
Welcome to Season 3!Gore & Grapes starts strong by introducing the show's first ever guest: Ruben L. Garza Jr. aka vocalist of Through N Through, who also happens to be Carla's beloved cousin. Ruben shares his love for horror by naming his Top 5 films, how it has influenced his songwriting, and the overlap between metal and horror films. The pair discuss themes of revenge, artists "suffering for their art", the film's changing mood, and women's position in slasher films. A casual but fun take on this horror classic that you are sure to have a killer time!Video version available on YouTube 2/11/2025 @ 12 PM CSTCheck out TNT here:https://linktr.ee/throughnthrough?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAaYx_oYTEYvjy11pNZmI5kDAzZpFopcflvN8ZhwMkDd0aamYiPUIQhWUa-U_aem_zNnwh3nomH1OrmeS8mCIlQCheck out my socials!https://linktr.ee/goreandgrapes

As Season 2 of Gore & Grapes comes to a close, Carla ends the season by reviving a forgotten horror film that once went viral online. This brings up topics of mental health awareness, generational trauma, and a fear that most people can relate to. The Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016)
The film for Episode 9 of Gore & Grapes is one that Carla deems distasteful for her liking but she sweetens the review with an Argentinian wine while discussing Forensic Science and its allure in horror, the rising interest in true crime, and even critiquing parts of the film with her background in mortuary science. https://linktr.ee/goreandgrapes
