GREENVOLUTION

Why “GREEN”? Because the wellbeing of the planet and its inhabitants is one of the core principles of our philosophy, embracing a Industry 5.0 oriented viewpoint.Technology, machines, human skills are the three pillars of the new industrial revolution, where the first two are the key factor underlying harmony and quality of life for the latter. Why “-VOLUTION”? Combined to “green”, it can be read as GREEN REVOLUTION or GREEN EVOLUTION, the wide-scale change which begins with small steps, allowing the dominant worldview to evolve. Everybody loves change but few are willing to take some steps to actually change. Practicing mindfulness and respect for the environment and the people around us, we can make small revolutions. Then, building on them, we’ll give our positive contribution to life on Earth, bringing forth the green consciousness evolution. Sticking to this principle, the protagonists of the podcasts presented here offer their everyday stories, big and small, about the efforts th

La consapevolezza è il primo passo verso la sostenibilità / Awareness is the first step towards sustainability

Scientist, innovator, communicator, writer, and entrepreneur: for Massimo Temporelli, the guest of this episode of #Greenvolution, an introduction similar to that of one of the brilliant personalities in “Fucking Genius” (the podcast he created) fits perfectly. Indeed, over the years, Temporelli has built a multifaceted career and has received various prestigious awards, the latest of which was in 2024, recognizing his efforts in promoting scientific culture.A physicist and advocate of scientific dissemination for over 25 years, Temporelli shares with Greenvolution some of his views on sustainability, including doubts and uncertainties about being green, the dangers of greenwashing, and the importance of awareness as the key to an eco-sustainable life.Thank you for listening! Saving the planet one bottle at the time

If you think that S.T. Coleridge, Iron Maiden and Andrew Eversden of Bottle up don’t have anything in common, think it over. Besides being all British, Coleridge was one of the first author to be considered proto ecologist, warning us of the dangers of going against nature. In his famous “Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner” (translated into a song by Iron Maiden), the quote “water water everywhere, nor any drop to drink” can be seen as a powerful reminder of the disastrous effects of climate change. Luckily, several genial entrepreneurs, like Andrew Eversden (co-founder of Bottle up and my guest for this episode of Greenvolution) have been working to find solutions against wasting water and preventing one the most dangerous threats to our planet: the proliferation of single-use plastic products. And what about Iron Maiden? Oh, they’ve “just” been providing us with excellent music for decades. Thank you for listening! A bright future starts with a single panel

In a recent news article we anticipated something about the Tech 4 Gambia project, which has been carried out between mid January and mid March 2024, with the aim of installimg a solar panel park in Tanji, Gambia  (Africa). This episode of Greenvolution focuses on the story of  Thijmen Smulders and Mark Roelen. who joined  Go For Africa - an organisation funded by multiple ROC/MBO schools in The Netherlands -  during their internships and shared their knowledge and expertise to use the local resources in a more sustainable way. Thank you for listening! Storytelling for a better future

Welcome to another episode of Greenvolution, the Shinchoku podcast by Arianna Pernigoni. So far we have talked about various aspects of sustainability: how to travel respecting the environment more, how to produce more sustainable fashion, the problem of recycling in metal industries and the importance of reducing waste of primary rescources such as water. This time, thanks to my guest, the music songwriter Aaron English, we explore the world of social equality and better education. About ten years ago, he founded the International Youth Project, a charity aiming at ensuring children of Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya with the musical equipment and education to become musicians, producers, songwriters. In short, to provide them with a brighter future. This is surely a wonderful story to tell, and that’s what Aaron English did in this interview. Thank you for listening! Regenerate life starting from agriculture

Developing robotics technology to improve agricolture may sound like a paradox, for it shakes the very foundations of one of the  oldest and most traditional industrial sector. However, thanks to our current guest at Greenvolution, we’ve found out it is possible to unite technology and deeply-grounded, on-the-fields (literally) expertise to realize what Pixelfarming calls “regenerative agricolture”. Its aim is simple and challenging at the same time: by using mathematics to increase food production and stop using chemical pesticides, Pixelfarming wants to grow food with nature instead of against nature. So, by combining mathemathical calculations and computer based technologies, the Pixelfarming crew can predict the most optimal conditions for crops and aim for the best harvest. Their story starts in 2017 as a small scale solution to improve, through extensive studies, the life cycle of plants. Over the years they have implemented their newly built machine, Robot one, in order to grow crops without using artificial chemicals. You can find them on https://pixelfarmingrobotics.com/ or at https://www.linkedin.com/company/pixelfarmingrobotics/ In this episode of Greenvolution we had the pleasure to talk to Cindy Van Dommelen, the brand manager for Pixelfarming.Thank you for listening! Heavy Metal is the solution

Almost every family in the world is sitting on a little pile of gold. But also of copper, silver, palladium, etc. If you wonder how that is possible, have a look at the broken electrical appliances you have at home. But this treasure is alas one not to keep, as it is dangerous for our planet as much as plastic. My guest on this episode of Greenvolution, Rudof von Stokar, CEO of Reco e-waste, gives some crucial insights about the importance of urban mining, the consequences of not disposing of metals and electrical waste in the appropriate way, and explains that the chemical-free and lossless process in his manufacturing company is a real circular way of thinking and operating. Thank you for listening!

Thank you for listening! Sustainable Travles

Thank you for listening! From fast fashion to regenerative fashion

Is it possible to curb the horrible outcomes of trending fast fashion, which is the second cause of world pollution, by breaking the traditional business model built on the assumption of infinite growth? Is it possible to reduce the waste of linear production and linear thinking (in terms of natural resources, exploitation of workers, and use of non-renewable energies) and create high quality products that are good for the environment and the people making them? Mart Veeken, our guest for this new episode of Greenvolution, started LablFashion with the aim of redesigning the idea of fashion, making it sustainable in several respects. Together with a small team of professionals, he opened up a community in Kenya where clothes are produced literally from cotton to the t-shirt (or skirt, sweater, etc.) This eco-friendly fashion firm is proof that we can change the way we see clothes: no longer as disposable garments, but as objects with a story, created with passion and love for the planet and humankind. Thank you for listening! Sustainability begins at the source

In this episode of Greenvolution our guest is Luke van Enkhuizen. Luke is a digitalisation consultant with a background in sheet metal works. His provides his servies in the sheet metal market, where he helps companies integrate their machines with MES, ERP and other relevant IT systems. In the talk we had with he explains in more detail what that means, and of course we also touch upon the subject of sustainability. According to Luke, sustainability is about preventing waste of materials, energy and resources. This needs to be dealt with at the source, in planning and engineering instead of on the shop floor, he explains.Thank you for listening! Water water everywhere, and not a drop to waste

“Water water everywhere, and not a drop to drink” sang Iron Maiden in the mid-'80s, in what would have been for younger generations the best way to remember “The rhyme of the ancient mariner” by Samuel Taylor Coleridge. And they were both right. In this fourth episode of the Greenvolution podcast, we’re going to talk about four projects involved in saving water and our planet. In our view, one proved to be a small example of greenwashing, the other is not so necessary, and the other two are more effective and, we hope, successful. So, let’s have a look at what these companies are doing to sort out the problem of water waste and to make this precious liquid more accessible to everyone, in particular to developing countries, where seasonal draught is a serious life-threatening matter.Thank you for listening!
