Sí hablamos de la guitarra venezolana, hay un nombre que siempre va a destacar y es el pináculo de la creación musical de mi instrumento principal, Antonio Lauro es la referencia absoluta de la guitarra Venezolana. En la Blockchain de Hive he subido muchas interpretaciones de sus Valses más icónicos, como el Vals Nº3, Carora, Angostura, El Marabino... sin embargo, hay muchas piezas que desconozco que estan esperando ser expuestas al público Venezolano, tal es el caso de la Bolera Caraqueña de Antonio Lauro, un estilo musical prácticamente extinto la cual Lauro tuvo un gran interés, pues su concierto para Guitarra y Orquesta tiene una parte dedicada al susodicho género musical. A manera personal, este tipo de obras son increíbles y comprendo también el porque las personas no se atreven a montar estas piezas musicales, ya que requieren de mucho estudio y dedicación, es un trabajo muy delicado ya que en un ensamble hay una relación de Codependencia, si alguno se echa un pelón todo se va a tornar muy caótico. Transcribiendo y estudiando los Scores. Pasé esta obra por un programa de notación musical llamado Sibelius 7.5 que es el software que uso para componer, lo hago para estudiar la Bolera, ya que estoy a cargo de la dirección musical de un Cuarteto de Guitarra que próximamente, con la ayuda de Dios estaremos mostrando obras muy interesantes para cuarteto de guitarra. Al tener este material audiovisual puedo ver y escuchar con claridad cada frase, salida y entrada de los instrumentos y las secciones que se deben ensayar, hay que usar la tecnología para mejorar nuestra calidad de vida, y eso es algo que estoy haciendo al transcribir estas obras. On a personal note, these types of works are incredible, and I also understand why people don't dare to perform them. Hay unos músicos dentro de esta agrupación que son legendarios, jovenes con una pasión musical extraordinaria y una entrega y dedicación incuestionable, entre ellos hay 2 personas que destaco por las virtudes antes mencionadas: Sebastián Rivas ( @sebas.mandolin ) y Diego Belisario. Ellos me han demostrado que todavía tengo mucho por aprender, y que el camino es largo y hay poco tiempo para recorrerlo, estoy muy feliz de que Dios los haya cruzado en mi camino, porque ellos son imparables, siempre siento que voy un paso detrás de ellos, y eso es lo que me encanta, que la única manera de tocar con ellos es dar el 130% de mí mismo! La Guitarra y la Mandolina son esenciales en la música Brasileña, y la integración del Cuatro Venezolano le da una esencia criolla típica de nuestra idiosincrasia sonora. Esta obra es una de las más representativas de este gran compositor: Jacob do Bandolim, debo admitir que este tema me costó bastante aprendermelo porque tiene una estructura un poco extraña, pero claro, es música brasileña !!! Es algo completamente nuevo para mí. Dios mediante estaré mostrando más interpretaciones con mis hermanos musicales. Estos últimos días he estado más enfocado en el tema de la composición, hay creaciones musicales que tardan en nacer, van transformándose, esta obra tiene esa característica, la escribí pero esta es la primera fase, todavía no esta terminada, posiblemente la modifique durante toda la vida, porque la composición no es una carrera sino un maratón de esta y la próxima vida. En sí esta pieza tiene unos elementos que desarrollé que modestia aparte, me gustaron mucho como quedaron, el Intro tiene una presencia increíble, el Coro la nostalgia que quería pero hay cosas que todavía no me convencen, por lo que debo seguirlas trabajando, pero siento que los compositores y artistas en general deberían mostrar las obras en su fase de evolución, por lo general, las personas tienden a mostrar las cosas una vez finalizadas, pero en otras disciplinas siempre vemos como van mostrando las cosas de acuerdo con la evolución, tal es el caso de la arquitectura, que vemos como abren un edificio con otras fases en construcción, o vemos fragmentos de libros como muestras al público. Los instrumentos tradicionales o populares no estan ideados para leer partitura, están pensados para hacer música en el momento, la guitarra clásica es un instrumento relativamente nuevo en el mundo académico, ya que ella siempre ha sido un artilugio de expresión popular, su ingreso a las salas de concierto fue algo que se logro con mucho trabajo y dedicación. Yo estoy en un momento histórico donde la música Venezolana esta viviendo una transformación que en mi criterio nunca había pasado con ninguna expresión sonora en el mundo, el Sistema ha dado la posibilidad de profesionalizar la música tradicional del pueblo venezolano, Bandolistas, Arpistas llaneros, Maraqueros y Cuatristas de todas partes del país estudiando Solfeo, descifrando notaciones musicales para ser interpretadas por sus instrumentos, es algo surrealista, estoy en el Génesis de un suceso que sobrepasa mi comprensión. Por ende, hacer un arreglo para este tipo de agrupaciones es dar un salto al vacío, es incursionar en un mundo sonoro nunca antes explorado, tengo la oportunidad de crear colores que ni Beethoven, ni Bach, ni Debussy, ni ninguno de los grandes iconos de la música occidental europea pudieron siquiera soñar. Este arreglo es producto de esa búsqueda por lograr una estética personal con instrumentos tradicionales venezolanos. One of my most iconic musical arrangements I truly enjoy arranging for the Alma Llanera format, but writing for traditional instruments is no easy task. Truth be told, it is harder to write for a folk ensemble than for any other musical format. This is because these types of orchestras are relatively new; there are no orchestration manuals for an Alma Llanera Orchestra, and I believe that holds true for any type of traditional orchestra in the world. Traditional or folk instruments are not designed for reading sheet music; they are meant for making music in the moment. Even the classical guitar is a relatively new instrument in the academic world, as it has always been a tool for popular expression; its entry into concert halls was an achievement reached through immense work and dedication. I find myself in a historical moment where Venezuelan music is undergoing a transformation that, in my opinion, has never happened with any other sonic expression in the world. El Sistema has provided the opportunity to professionalize the traditional music of the Venezuelan people. Bandolistas, llanero harpists, maraqueros, and cuatristas from all over the country are studying solfège, deciphering musical notations to be interpreted by their instruments. It is something surreal; I am at the genesis of an event that surpasses my understanding. Therefore, creating an arrangement for these types of groups is a leap of faith; it is venturing into a sonic world never before explored. I have the opportunity to create colors that neither Beethoven, nor Bach, nor Debussy, nor any of the great icons of Western European music could have even dreamed of. Para cualquier artista, es un enorme reto el hecho de poder desarrollar un estilo propio, los más grandes de la historia llegaron a ser lo que son porque se atrevieron a hacer algo que pocos se han arriesgado a hacer, ser auténticos. La autenticidad en la vida es cada vez más escasa, ya que muchos quieren ser como otras personas, quieren actuar para conseguir más aprobación social, para vender más, para ser "virales"... En cambio los que deseamos ser genuinos, tendemos a ser un poco más rebeldes, a saber decir que no ante lo que amenaza nuestra identidad y convicciones, por lo general, ser nosotros mismos trae más problemas que soluciones, porque el mundo no quiere que seas tú mismo, quiere que seas una copia más de ese que te ponen en la pantalla. Por ende, esta búsqueda sonora no es una carrera, sino un maratón de por vida, es una lucha para exteriorizar mi mundo musical interior. Encuentro - Una pieza para Susana Ruiz. In contrast, those of us who desire to be genuine tend to be a bit more rebellious. We know how to say "no" to anything that threatens our identity and convictions. Generally, being ourselves brings more problems than solutions, because the world doesn’t want you to be yourself—it wants you to be just another copy of whoever they put on your screen. Therefore, this search for sound is not a sprint, but a lifelong marathon; it is a constant struggle to externalize my inner musical world. Encounter – A Piece for Susana Ruiz My greatest inspiration is women. They are the pinnacle of my creative engine. It is a mystery to me; I simply allow myself to be carried away by feminine beauty, and that is when musical ideas begin to surface. Recuerdo que cuando estudiaba en la universidad llegué a leerme un libro que considero que es una joya de la literatura musical para quien desee adentrarse en el mundo de los sonidos orquestales, se llama "Música clásica para Dummies". Yo sé que el titulo es bastante gracioso pero no hay que subestimar a un libro por su portada, realmente fue uno de los mejores textos que he leído sobre música orquestal. Conocí a muchos grandes compositores europeos y norteamericanos gracias a ese libro, si mal no recuerdo creo que tenía 300 páginas, hablaba de los instrumentos orquestales, la historia de la música, los compositores más influyentes para el mundo sinfónico. Leer es importante, porque amplia tu conciencia del mundo, es como viajar pero dentro de tu mente, puedes visitar lugares, conocer personas, ver conflictos, batallas, creaciones en cada palabra. Boarding Pass, una pieza dedicada a un gran músico. Esta obra la hice para grabarla con un maestro de mandolina llamando Emmanuel Araque, sin embargo, al momento de concebir la obra me dí cuenta que suena muy bien para un viento metal, por eso decidí mostrarla así porque el sonido de mandolina de mi Sibelius no me gusta, esto que estan escuchando es un Fliscorno, uno de los viento metales que más me gustan. Cuando viajé a Bolivia, tuve la oportunidad de compartir con el Maestro Emmanuel Araque, recuerdo que lo ví caminando en el aeropuerto y lo percibí como alguien que siempre carga una buena vibra, me lo imaginé con su mandolina en la espalda y caminando relax esperando el vuelo. El Boarding Pass para quien no lo sabe es el Ticket de entrada para el Avión, cuando ya has entregado la maleta y pasado los controles de seguridad de un aeropuerto te dan ese ticket que lleva especificado el asiento que te corresponde del vuelo. I remember when I was studying at the university, I came across a book that I consider a gem of musical literature for anyone wishing to delve into the world of orchestral sounds; it's called Classical Music for Dummies. I know the title is quite funny, but you shouldn't judge a book by its cover—it truly was one of the best texts I’ve ever read on orchestral music. I discovered many great European and North American composers thanks to that book. If I recall correctly, it was about 300 pages long and covered orchestral instruments, music history, and the most influential composers in the symphonic world. Reading is important because it expands your awareness of the world. It’s like traveling within your own mind; you can visit places, meet people, and witness conflicts, battles, and creations in every word. Boarding Pass, a piece dedicated to a great musician. I wrote this work to record it with a mandolin master named Emmanuel Araque; however, while conceiving the piece, I realized it sounds very good for a brass instrument. That is why I decided to present it this way—I don't really like the mandolin sound on my Sibelius software. What you are listening to is a Flugelhorn, one of my favorite brass instruments. When I traveled to Bolivia, I had the opportunity to spend time with Maestro Emmanuel Araque. I remember seeing him walking through the airport and I perceived him as someone who always carries a good vibe; I imagined him with his mandolin on his back, walking "relax" while waiting for his flight. Componer es un acto que requiere valentía, fé y mucha paciencia, pero es algo sumamente gratificante cuando puedes expresarte como tú quieres, lograr algo único a través de la fuerza interna de tu mente y alma es maravilloso, creo incluso que es lo más grande que puede existir en la vida, la creación humana. No solamente en la música, en todas las disciplinas artísticas como la pintura, la poesía, la orfebrería, la arquitectura... Todas las expresiones artísticas son demostraciones del poder creativo que hay en todos nosotros, todos tenemos esta esencia divina que Dios nos regaló. Sin embargo, es impresionante como pocos nos atrevemos a usar esta fuerza creadora, creo que el mismo Sistema Social en el vivimos nos frena para usar esta gran habilidad liberadora de la conciencia. Es increíble como nos estamos acostumbrarnos a delegarle a las Inteligencias Artificiales las actividades que nos hacen completamente humanos e independientes. En vez de nosotros diseñar un dibujo, por Rapidez y "eficiencia" le decimos a la I.A que lo haga por nosotros, esto a la larga hará que los artistas estén en peligro de extinción. Invocación, Redención y Tormento. Mi primera pieza Moderna. Esta pieza podríamos decir que esta incompleta, es la primer vez que hago una obra con un lenguaje atonal bastante disonante, tiene incluso elementos dodecafónicos, cambios de armadura de compás, en fin, varias características bien interesantes. Hay una historia detrás de esta composición: Una persona invoca a un espíritu por curiosidad, al despertarlo él comienza atormentar a su invocador, el tormento es la parte más movida de la obra y termina con intervención divina de la mano de Dios, que lo libra del espíritu y perdona sus pecados. Sinceramente me encanta tanto la historia como la obra porque yo siempre he sido una persona mística y dado a la religión y los temas de ocultismo. The Magic of Artistic Creation Composing is an act that requires courage, faith, and a great deal of patience, but it is deeply rewarding when you are able to express yourself exactly as you wish. To achieve something unique through the internal strength of your mind and soul is marvelous; I believe it is the greatest thing that can exist in life: human creation. This applies not only to music but to all artistic disciplines—painting, poetry, goldsmithing, architecture... All artistic expressions are demonstrations of the creative power within us all; we all possess this divine essence that God gifted us. However, it is striking how few of us dare to use this creative force. I believe the social system we live in restrains us from using this great, consciousness-liberating skill. It is incredible how we are becoming accustomed to delegating the activities that make us fully human and independent to Artificial Intelligence. Instead of designing a drawing ourselves, we tell an AI to do it for us for the sake of speed and "efficiency." In the long run, this will put artists at risk of extinction. Invocation, Redemption, and Torment: My First Modern Piece One could say this piece is incomplete. It is the first time I have created a work with a fairly dissonant, atonal language; it even contains dodecaphonic elements, time signature changes, and several other interesting characteristics. There is a story behind this composition: A person invokes a spirit out of curiosity. Upon awakening, the spirit begins to torment its invoker—this torment is the most active part of the work—and it ends with divine intervention by the hand of God, who frees the person from the spirit and forgives their sins. Honestly, I love both the story and the work because I have always been a mystical person, drawn to religion and themes of the occult. Recientemente tuve un encuentro musical con algunos de mis colegas del Sistema de Orquestas, nos reunimos para grabar un cover de la canción "Oh, qué será?" de Chico Buarque (versión de Willie Colón), terminamos de hacer la grabación y estabamos espectantes, queríamos grabar otra cosa y no sabíamos qué tocar! El Cuatrista y el Bajista se estaban preparando para tocar "El Tramao de Luis Laguna" y aproveché la oportunidad de unirme a ellos porque yo me sé esa pieza en la mandolina y da la casualidad que me la sé en el tono en que la estaban tocando. Salió a la segunda toma, hicimos un pequeño arreglo y quedó bastante chévere. Esta experiencia me hizo dar cuenta que lograr las cosas es una combinación de preparación + oportunidad, jamás planificamos hacer esa interpretación pero se dió y aproveché de grabar con estos músicos de alto nivel. Yo no soy el mejor mandolinista del mundo, pero ese momento era mi oportunidad para destacar, y creo que así es la vida, de esperar o buscar tu momento de brillar y que cada uno de nosotros tiene la capacidad de ser grande en su día a día. Recently, I had a musical get-together with some of my colleagues from the Sistema de Orquestas. We met up to record a cover of Chico Buarque’s "Oh, qué será?" (the Willie Colón version). Once we finished the recording, we were still buzzing with energy—we wanted to record something else, but we weren't sure what to play! The cuatro and bass players started getting ready to play "El Tramao" by Luis Laguna, and I jumped at the chance to join them. As it happens, I know that piece on the mandolin, and by pure luck, I knew it in the same key they were playing in. We nailed it on the second take. We put together a quick little arrangement, and it turned out great. This experience made me realize that achieving things is a combination of Preparation + Opportunity. We never planned to perform that piece, but the moment arrived, and I took the chance to record with these high-level musicians. I’m not the best mandolinist in the world, but that was my moment to shine. Following our last meeting, she decided to open a Hive account (good for her!). She is taking her first steps on the Hive Blockchain, and just like other users I’ve brought on board, she has my full support. She has an incredible voice, but also great humility and is an excellent person. She is one of those few students of whom I can say I truly invested my time and energy well. Estaba muy alejado de la comunidad de Hive Open Mic, este año deseo volver a estar activo por acá porque para mí este espacio en la blockchain representa el primer lugar donde crecí como músico en Hive. Estuve viendo las entradas de la semana 301 y me encantó el ambiente y el compañerismo que se expande por toda esta maravillosa comunidad, la temática de esta semana es algo particular, "Good Luck" que es español sería "Buena suerte", yo siempre he pensado que la suerte existe, todos tenemos momentos de buena y mala suerte en la vida, pero la buena suerte + la preparación es lo que crea una Oportunidad. En la vida no basta con tener "buena suerte" por que esta es temporal y no siempre se tiene, hay que estar preparado para afrontar tanto la fortuna como la desdicha, saber como vivir en la abundancia y en la escases. I have always believed that luck exists—we all have moments of good and bad luck in life—but I believe that Good Luck + Preparation is what creates an Opportunity. "Fulanito canta mejor que yo" y otro montón de cosas más que me impedían expresarme como yo quería, poco a poco el espíritu rebelde que tenemos todos salió a relucir y me obligó a cantar, y el hecho que yo cante parecera una tontería pero causa controversia entre mis compañeros de Orquestas y Público en general, a quienes les gusta y otros que me gritan: "Ya callate, no sirves" (Porque sí me lo han gritado varias veces jeejje) pero aquí el reto esta en hacer lo que realmente deseas hacer siempre y cuando no rompa con los límites de la ley, es mi vida, y al final lo hago como algo de autosuperación, el hecho de que alguien como yo pueda vivir de la música y sea considerado para algunos un "Maestro" es para mí un milagro, puesto yo vengo del ceno de una familia no musical, solamente mi madre que ama cantar y medio charrasquea el cuatro. La música es un derecho que tenemos todos, y si a mí me da la gana de cantar pues lo haré y ya! Si no te gusta vete a otro sitio. Así deberíamos ser con las cosas que amamos hacer pero que otros en su amargura no desean que hagamos, ahí la rebeldía debe estar activada, yo te animo a que si siempre deseastes hacer algo, si tuviste un sueño que no pudiste cumplir, lucha por él, tal vez no serás el mejor del mundo, pero autosuperate, busca la excelencia, demuestra esa chispa divina que tienes en tu interior, la oscuridad de los demás no puede ni debe ganarte, la luz siempre gana contra las tinieblas. Grabar es un acto de fé. Ya he hablado de esto en otras oportunidades, pero vaya que grabar es una suma de pequeñas oportunidades, cuando se mezcla: el silencio, la luz, la perspectiva, la batería al 100% de la cámara o teléfono, la excelente ejecución y la buena pose para el vídeo, es que lo lograste! Pero en mi caso si alguno de estos elementos falla tengo que repetir o cancelar la grabación... Con lo único que suelo ser un poco flexible es como mi interpretación del tema, porque es natural y humano tener uno que otro error leve, de esos que hasta las orquestas más profesionales del mundo hacen pero que nadie percibe (Nadie es perfecto, solo Dios). Por lo que para grabar un "simple video" se debe tener una gran Fé y una enorme paciencia! Sin contar el proceso de post-producción ! Que es otro capitulo más en mi vida. Dado esto he trabajado muy fuerte en hacer las cosas porque así lo deseo, sin importar la opinión de los demás, claro esto no es tarea fácil porque a pesar de que intente ser lo más "Antisistema" posible, la opinión de los demás siempre tendrá algo de importancia en lo que hago, sin embargo, trato en lo posible que sea mi propia opinión la que más importancia tenga. Yo canto porque me gusta cantar, para mí es una necesidad tan importante como comer y dormir, por lo tanto, lo hago porque me permite sentirme vivo, a quienes les guste pues bien, y a quienes no les guste los invito a que no me escuchen, pero no puedo permitirme que el público decida si yo debería cantar o no, eso lo decido yo en base a mis valores y gustos, eso para mí es la verdadera libertad, tener una conciencia tranquila. Given this, I have worked very hard to do things because I want to do them, regardless of what others think. Of course, this is no easy task; even though I try to be as "anti-system" as possible, others' opinions will always carry some weight in what I do. However, I try my best to ensure that my own opinion is the one that matters most. I sing because I love to sing. For me, it is a necessity as vital as eating or sleeping. Como estoy probando un nuevo bando de sonidos llamado "Note Performer 5" quise escuchar como suena con algunas arreglos que había hecho en el pasado. Me sorprendí mucho como cambió la sonoridad con este arreglo de "Criolla Fantasía", por eso deseo compartirlo por aquí en mi Blog de Hive. Trabajar con un banco de sonidos realista le da otra profundidad y madurez a la música que compongo y además que me da una idea más clara de como va a sonar cuando alguien en el mundo real la interprete. Ya era el siguiente paso que debía hacer para ir perfilándome como compositor instrumental, de resto lo que queda es ir escribiendo y probando las nuevas ideas que salen de mi mente! Criolla Fantasía - Luis Laguna. Dentro del acervo musical tradicional de mi país, Luis Laguna es un nombre muy importante, este compositor y guitarrista dejó un legado sonoro muy extenso y rico en armonía y melodías hermosas, creo que es deber de que cada uno de nosotros defender y proclamar esta música, porque es parte de nuestro legado como Venezolanos! Es una obra hermosa y la arreglé a mi gusto, es la primera vez que hago un cuarteto de cuerdas y me solté un poco, tratando de mantener siempre la misma estética sonora. Dusting Off My Old Arrangements Since I am testing a new sound library called "Note Performer 5," I wanted to hear how it sounds with some arrangements I had made in the past. Estrenando un nuevo banco de sonidos Hace 100 años atrás creo que los compositores no hubieran imaginado como la tecnología iba a cambiar el panorama musical, a decir verdad ni siquiera yo estoy actualizado con lo que las computadoras ya pueden hacer musicalmente, he escuchado cosas hechas por inteligencias artificiales que son una locura! Hay personas que dicen que en películas ya se esta usando música hecha por inteligencias artificiales, esto a mí sinceramente me preocupa por que las maquinas están adueñándose del trabajo de los humanos... no es que la tecnología sea mala, pero como la estamos usando esta acabando con el arte humano. Volviendo a mi vida, hoy estoy estrenando un banco de sonidos realista que se llama Note Performer 5 a decir verdad estoy bastante impresionado con lo bien que suena, Componer es mi momento feliz. Hoy terminé de hacer una pequeña pieza para clarinete, le puse como nombre "Manchas & Pecas" en honor a las mascotas de @cocuyeras. Tenía pensado ponerle al principio el titulo de "Solaz" pero no me sonaba que el nombre sonara con la pieza, me puse a pensar y siento que es una pieza con un aire inocente y juguetón, me imaginé a esas perritas y decidí ponerle ese nombre tan peculiar. La pieza es un Merengue Venezolano al estilo Rucaneao, esta en Re mayor. Esta pieza tiene un ligero aire del Barroco con progresiones armónicas bastante tradicionales, en lo personal, amo el merengue Venezolano, me parece que es el estilo musical más hermoso del país. To tell the truth, even I am not up-to-date with what computers can already do musically. I have heard things made by artificial intelligences that are crazy! Some people say that music made by artificial intelligence is already being used in movies. This sincerely worries me because machines are taking over the work of humans... it's not that technology is bad, but the way we are using it is destroying human art. Returning to my own life, today I am debuting a realistic sound bank called Note Performer 5. To be honest, I am quite impressed with how good it sounds. Composing is My Happy Time Today I finished a small piece for clarinet. I named it "Spots & Freckles" in honor of @cocuyeras' pets. I had initially thought of titling it "Solaz" (Comfort/Pleasure), but I didn't feel that the name resonated with the piece. I started thinking and I feel it is a piece with an innocent and playful vibe. I imagined those little dogs and decided to give it that peculiar name. The piece is a Venezuelan Merengue in the Rucaneao style, and it is in D major. This piece has a light Baroque feel with quite traditional harmonic progressions. En la historia de la música miles de compositores tuvieron de las cientos de obras que hicieron unas 2 o 3 (en el mejor de las casos) fueron aceptadas por el público en general, incluso hay unos cuyos trabajos nunca fueron bien vistos en su época y siglos después tienen renombre internacional. Digo todo esto porque la aceptación del público no debe ser una motivación para hacer arte, porque si fuera así, desde hace mucho que me hubiera retirado de la música, y más en los tiempos actuales donde la música que más gusta es Reggeaton y sus variantes. Yo escribo porque me nace del alma hacerlo, más que un deseo es una necesidad de expresarme, y muchas veces no voy a expresar lo mismo, algunos días estaré enojado y mi música va a sonar a eso, otro estaré enamorado, y mi música va a sonar así, otros días estaré ansioso, y la música sonorá así... Por lo que para crear artísticamente hay que ser valiente y enfrentarse al rechazo del público! Debes ser fuerte en tus ideales y principios y fiel a tu propuesta. Esta vez pude crear algo que sinceramente me gusta mucho escuchar y me parece algo maravilloso que esa música haya salido de mi espíritu, pero eso no siempre va a ser así, esta vez tuve la suerte de que tanto el público como a mí nos gusta la obra que hice. No puedo mentir, me encanta que le guste a la gente pero estoy consciente que eso no será así siempre. Public Opinion Should Not Be the Motivation. Not all the compositions I've made are works of genius. I usually write what I feel, and if people like it, great, and if they don't, nothing happens. In the history of music, out of the hundreds of works thousands of composers created, only 2 or 3 (in the best-case scenario) were accepted by the general public. There are even some whose works were never well-regarded in their time and centuries later have international renown. I say all this because public acceptance should not be a motivation for making art, because if it were, I would have retired from music a long time ago, especially in current times where the most popular music is Reggaeton and its variants. I write because it comes from my soul; more than a desire, it is a need to express myself, and many times I won't be expressing the same thing. This time, I was able to create something that I sincerely love to listen to, and it seems wonderful to me that this music came out of my spirit, but that won't always be the case.
