Harmoniously at Odds

Welcome to Harmoniously at Odds — the podcast where we talk politics without the shouting but instead try something radical… like listening. Each week I’ll sit down with relatives and friends across the political spectrum — conservatives, skeptics, believers, parents— to explore what it really means to live in the middle. Not as a compromise, but as a calling.

  1. 16

    Alexis

Alexis, a longtime friend, is a Cuban-American and Air Force veteran who served multiple tours in the middle east. His past experience adds context to the convoluted nature of our current foreign affairs and his background allows for some understanding of the complex nature of immigration in today's political climate.

  2. 15

    Tim (Part II)

On this week's episode, Tim and I continue our conversation around the state of funding in education, the importance of local elections, and whether or not the Constitution has "real" power.

  3. 14

    Tim (Part I)

A Libertarian and a Centrist walk into a room..... My first non-familial guest comes out of the gates swinging. As a self proclaimed Libertarian and father of two, Tim brings a unique perspective on what makes Trump stand out. Listen in as we discuss 2A rights, political theater, and how his small town experience has changed over time.

  4. 13

    Omar (Parte II) - Spanish

En el proximo capitulo con Omar continuamos la conversacion sobre lo que ocurrio en Venezuela y la captura de Maduro. Exploramos un poco la historia de Venezuela y como hemos llegado hasta este punto.

  5. 12

  6. 11

    Stephanie

What happens when a "purple" voter is weighing the options? Stephanie offers a glance into the thought process of a stay-at-home mother who has voted across the aisle depending on what matters most in the moment. The daughter of immigrants, she speaks about the conncection between her faith, her voting decision, and her conviction as a Christian looking for guidance in a misguided world.

  7. 10

    Raquel (Part II)

Raquel and I continue our conversation on gender affirming treatment and the fallout from the Argentinian beef shenanigans. There's also a fun little tangent about Starbucks and the struggle to voice your opinion with the power of your dollar.

  8. 9

    Raquel (Part I)

As the first female to join the podcast, Raquel brings a unique perspective. Her key issues are focused on the momentum behind the MAHA movement and what her "mom bear" brain makes of some of the most controversial themes in today's political sphere.

  9. 8

    Aaron

Aaron brings real-world experience to what it's like to live in the Trump Economy. An award winning BBQ Pit Master, Father, and self proclaimed conspiracy theorist, his insight connects in a raw and unfiltered way. If Libertarianism were a person, this would be it.

  10. 7

    Abraham

No, not "Father Abraham" but a man of God nonetheless. Ever wondered where a Conservative Pastor stands on many of today's most controversial issues? Peer into the mind of someone who's been doing just that for 32 years. His take on prayer back in schools will blow your mind...

  11. 6

    Osel

One of my closest cousins, Osel is a fervent MAGA supporter, father, and small business owner. Our discussion explores the real world implications of rising costs and the firestorm surrounding Charlie Kirk's assassination.

  12. 5

    Austin (Part II)

Austin and I continue our conversation on financial gain by public officials. Additionally, we explore topics ranging from the violence in politics to perceived racism.

  13. 4

    Austin (Part I)

Austin and I have known each other for years now. When we're not playing board games, we're debating politics online. Through a series of long-winded topics and a couple of curveball questions, we ended up with a recording worthy of two parts. Does it end on a cliffhanger? Listen to find out.....

  14. 3

    James

What can I say about Tio Jim? Loves football, a "Valley" native through and through, and he's full MAGA; the typical conservative-right tropes would lead you to believe the exact opposite. You'd think after being part of his wedding he'd have a little more respect for me........kidding of course. Still, his political leanings are well-informed and a regular topic in our discussions at family gatherings.

  15. 2

    Isai

In the inaugural episode, I sit down with one of my closest uncles. He and I have shared many memories, debates, and humorous exchanges. Our 7-year age gap meant we were always together as kids and I've always deeply admired his willingness to do anything with my cousins and I growing up. In spite of our diverging paths on everything political, we still managed to have a great time recording this episode and conversing about some of today's most heated topics.
