What To Do When You Don’t Feel Like That Girl Anymore
back with episode 70 of Her Revision Podcast, and this one is honest. This episode is about what happens when you feel like you’ve lost your spark. When the ideas stop flowing, the passion feels distant, and the thing you once knew was yours starts feeling heavy, confusing, or even questionable.I’m talking about the space between purpose and pressure. The moment where you start comparing yourself, overthinking your next move, wondering if your time has passed, or convincing yourself that maybe you were only meant to do the thing for a season. But what I realized is this: I didn’t lose my voice. I didn’t lose my gift. I didn’t lose who I am. I lost my rhythm. In this episode, I break down the three phases I believe we go through when we feel disconnected from our purpose: the spark, the drift, and the rhythm. The spark is beautiful, but it’s not something you can build your whole life on. The drift is where you start moving without being anchored. And rhythm is what brings you back to yourself.I also talk about why taking a break can be necessary, why forcing yourself to create can make you resent the thing you love, and why sometimes the answer is not more motivation. Sometimes the answer is structure, discipline, honesty, and a slower return to what actually fulfills you. This is for the woman who feels like she fell off. This is for the woman who has been questioning her purpose. This is for the woman who is tired of chasing momentum and wants to build something meaningful. This is for the woman who needs to remember that she is still her.In this episode, I talk about:✨ Feeling disconnected from your purpose✨ Losing your spark and questioning your gift✨ The comparison that comes when you slow down✨ Why relevancy means nothing without meaning✨ The difference between a break and avoidance✨ The spark, the drift, and the rhythm✨ Why motivation is not always the answer✨ How structure helps you return to yourself✨ Reducing the pressure around your goals✨ Creating a routine that actually supports you✨ Moving when you feel ready, but not waiting foreverThe biggest takeaway: the spark is cute, but rhythm is reliable. And sometimes what you thought you lost is just waiting for you to meet it again through consistency.Listen now to Episode 70 of Her Revision Podcast: What To Do When You Don’t Feel Like That Girl Anymore: Finding Your Rhythm Again.Stay connected with me:Subscribe to my Substack: https://rewrittenthoughts.substack.comFollow me on TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jasminelashae0105Follow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jasmine.lashae_Listen to Her Revision Podcast and keep up with everything else here: https://linktr.ee/JasmineLashaeWe’re growing, and your voice matters. Off the Page: Black Girl, Just Be for a Minute ✨
Sometimes the most radical thing a Black woman can do is stop trying to have all the answers. In this Off the Page episode of Her Revision, I’m talking about what it means to be in a season of transition and not fully know what’s next. Moving, life shifts, school setbacks, pressure, purpose, success, timelines, all of it. This is a reminder that you do not have to earn rest. You do not have to perform greatness every second. Sometimes you need to put the trophy down, quiet the noise, and let yourself just be.If you’ve been spiraling, overthinking, or feeling behind, this one is for you.Subscribe to my Substack: rewrittenthoughts.substack.comInstagram: instagram.com/jasmine.lashae_TikTok: tiktok.com/@jasminelashae0105If this episode spoke to you, don’t forget to rate, review, and share Her Revision with somebody who needs it 🤎We’re growing, and your voice matters. You Keep Getting in the Way of What Could Be Good
In this episode, I’m talking through a pattern I’ve been noticing in myself in real time—feeling the need to figure things out too early.Whether it’s dating, friendships, new opportunities, or even creating content, I’ve realized I struggle to let things develop without trying to define what they are or where they’re going. That pressure to “know” can lead to overthinking, rushing, or pulling away too soon. This episode explores how that shows up, what it’s rooted in, and how it can get in the way of fully experiencing things as they unfold. If you’ve ever felt like you needed clarity right away, questioned something before giving it time, or found yourself trying to control the outcome too early, this conversation will resonate.Links:Substack: https://rewrittenthoughts.substack.comInstagram: https://instagram.com/jasmine.lashae_TikTok: https://tiktok.com/@jasminelashae0105We’re growing, and your voice matters. What Happens When Nobody Claps for Your Dreams?
What do you do when you put your heart into something… and the response is silence? In this episode of Her Revision Podcast, Jasmine gets real about one of the hardest parts of building anything in public: the quiet moments. The moments when you launch something you’re proud of and the people you expected to show up… don’t.From starting a clothing brand to learning uncomfortable lessons about validation, community, and expectations, this conversation explores the emotional side of creativity that people don’t talk about enough. The disappointment. The self-doubt. The resentment that can creep in when you feel unseen. But it’s also about the realization that changes everything: sometimes your friends and family aren’t your audience, and the people who truly support what you’re building may start out as strangers. If you’ve ever questioned your dream because the response wasn’t what you hoped for, this episode is for you.Keep building. Even when nobody’s clapping yet.Stay connected with Jasmine LashaeNewsletter / Substackrewrittenthoughts.substack.comTikTokhttps://www.tiktok.com/@jasminelashae0105Instagramhttps://www.instagram.com/jasmine.lashae_Listen to more episodes of Her Revision PodcastApple PodcastsSpotifyAmazon Music(available wherever you get your podcasts)Want to support the show?Share this episode with someone who’s building something of their own. You Don’t Need More. You Need Capacity.
In this episode, I’m talking about what it really means to “have” and what it means to lack. A lot of us have been taught to measure our lives by external markers like money, productivity, access, and how well we seem to be holding it all together. But the older I get, the more I realize that having is deeper than that. This episode is about capacity. It’s about the difference between looking functional and actually being well. It’s about how so many women are mislabeling depletion as failure, burnout as laziness, and survival mode as a personal flaw instead of recognizing when their lives are asking them to carry more than they were ever meant to hold alone.I’m breaking down the myth of “having it together,” the danger of living in constant overextension, and why more money, more discipline, or a better routine won’t fix what is structurally off. We talk about support, sustainability, emotional regulation, internal safety, and what it means to build a life that can actually hold you.If you’ve been feeling behind, overwhelmed, or like you should be handling things better than you are, this episode is for you.Links:[email protected]_https://www.instagram.com/jasmine.lashae_/TikTok@jasminelashae0105https://www.tiktok.com/@jasminelashae0105We’re growing, and your voice matters. Why We Go Back to What We’ve Outgrown
In this episode, I’m talking about the part of growth that does not get glamorized enough. Not just learning the lesson. Not just having the breakthrough. Not just finally getting the clarity.I’m talking about what happens after that. What happens when life gets quieter, when the distractions fall away, and you’re left face to face with yourself. The silence. The boredom. The loneliness. The temptation to go back to what feels familiar just because it’s familiar. This episode is about old habits, old patterns, old doors, and the very real urge to revisit things you already know are not aligned. It’s about the inner negotiation that happens when you know better, but still feel the pull toward what once comforted you. It’s about being honest enough to admit that growth does not mean you stop wanting the old thing. It means you start telling yourself the truth about where it leads.I also talk about distraction, discipline, self betrayal, and the difference between giving yourself grace and giving yourself excuses. Because grace is not pretending something is okay when you already know it pulls you backwards. Grace is telling yourself the truth without turning that truth into shame. If you’ve been in a season where things feel quieter, slower, more stripped down, and you’ve been fighting the urge to go back just because forward feels unfamiliar, this one is for you.If this episode resonates, don’t forget to rate, review, and share it with someone who may need it too.Keep up with me here:Substack: rewrittenthoughts.substack.com Instagram: @jasmine.lashae_ TikTok: @jasminelashae0105We’re growing, and your voice matters. But What Did God Say?
SHOW NOTESLast episode we talked about being more than one thing and giving yourself permission to explore more than one lane without letting society shame you into choosing one “acceptable” identity.Today we’re taking it a step deeper. Because once you actually start moving like you’re multi gifted, the noise gets louder. The opinions get louder. Fear starts sounding like wisdom. And you can end up calling it confusion when really you’re just overstimulated. This episode is my reset for anybody in a pivot season. We’re talking discernment, decision paralysis, and what it looks like to come back to the original instruction when everything around you is loud.In this episode• Why being “more than one thing” is a gift, but it can trigger overthinking• The difference between confusion and noise• The three types of noise: external, internal, spiritual• How fear of judgment keeps women stalled• A simple framework to discern what to do next• A personal update as a case study, not a headline• How to move from peace, not performanceReflection questions• What’s one thing I keep postponing because I’m waiting to feel ready?• What did I feel called to do before I started asking everybody their opinion?• Am I asking for more signs, or am I avoiding the cost of obedience? If this hit, share it with a friend who’s been second guessing herself.LinksInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jasmine.lashae_/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jasminelashae0105Substack: https://rewrittenthoughts.substack.comSpotify playlist: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/41hS7vu0yS4AIVcwwyCpu6?si=JT4-qIWoTcWb9aI-JR8d7w&pi=msoDhX_lTS2N_We’re growing, and your voice matters. You’re Not Confused. You Just Want More Than One Life.
If you’ve been feeling behind, uncertain, or like you should have your life figured out by now, this episode is for you.A lot of us were raised to believe that adulthood means picking one purpose, one path, and sticking to it forever. And if you change your mind, want something new, or feel pulled in multiple directions, something must be wrong with you.I don’t believe that.In this episode, I talk about why feeling “confused” is often just a mislabel for curiosity. Why wanting more than one life doesn’t mean you’re scattered, immature, or unfocused. And why your purpose may not be a role at all, but a why that shows up in different seasons, careers, and expressions.I share my own journey through teaching, fashion, corporate life, creativity, culture, and podcasting, and how clarity didn’t come from choosing one thing, but from recognizing the thread that connected all of them.We also get into:• The pressure to have it figured out by a certain age• The grief that comes with choosing any path, even the right one• Why time has been turned into a countdown instead of a container• The difference between being scattered and being multidimensional• How curiosity gets mistaken for irresponsibility in adulthoodYou don’t owe anyone a linear origin story. You don’t owe anyone one version of yourself forever. You’re not confused. You just want more than one life.Links📝 Substack: www.rewrittenthoughts.substack.com📲 Instagram: www/instagram.com/jasmine.lashae_🎥 TikTok: www.tiktok.com/jasminelashae0105We’re growing, and your voice matters. You’re Waiting on Clarity You Already Have
You’re not confused. You’re not lost. You’re not missing insight. You already know what the pattern is. You already see the misalignment. This episode is about the moment awareness stops being enough and leadership is required. We’re talking about the difference between being self-aware and being self-led. About how clarity, language, and insight can keep you stuck if you never move past naming the problem. About how healing that doesn’t change behavior isn’t finished. And about why growth asks for action, not another explanation. If you’ve ever said “I know better” but found yourself in the same cycle again, this episode is for you. This is about choosing direction over understanding.Execution over articulation.Leadership over loops. In this episode:• Why self-awareness has become social currency• How clarity can feel productive without producing change• The difference between insight and self-leadership• Why naming the pattern isn’t the same as breaking it• What it actually looks like to lead yourself forward—Links & Resources:• Read the unfiltered companion entry on Substack:rewrittenthoughts.substack.com• Submit a Letter to the Tribe or respond to this episode:[email protected]• Join the conversation on Instagram:@jasmine.lashae_We’re growing, and your voice matters. The Beyoncé Method: Understanding Is Optional
In this episode, I’m talking about what happens when you stop performing clarity for people who are committed to misunderstanding you. This conversation came from a real moment. A viral post. A comment section. And that familiar urge to explain myself just so I wouldn’t be misread. But instead of jumping in, I sat with it. And what I realized is that silence can be a decision. Not avoidance. Not weakness. Discernment. This episode is about self-trust. About restraint. About knowing when clarity is no longer required and choosing to protect your center instead of proving your intentions. We talk about:• The difference between being seen and being available• Why over-explaining can quietly betray you• How self-awareness becomes power when it turns into self-leadership• Why access is chosen, not owed• What I call “The Beyoncé Method” and how it applies to real life, not just the internetIf you’re in a season where your boundaries are shifting, your voice is changing, and you’re done explaining yourself into exhaustion, this one is for you.If you want to go deeper with me beyond the podcast, I write in real time on Substack. Starting Over When Everyone Already Knows You
Starting over is not the motivational version we’re used to hearing about. It’s not just new beginnings or clean slates. It’s what happens psychologically, emotionally, and socially when you decide to become new in a world that already knows you for something else.In this episode, I’m talking about the discomfort of being seen as a beginner after you’ve already been competent. The way growth can get misread as performance. How learning in public gets labeled as unserious instead of developmental. And why unfamiliarity often gets mistaken for failure.I break down why starting over feels heavier than staying where you are, especially when people are attached to who you’ve been, what you were good at, and how you fit into their understanding of you. Why imposter syndrome shows up loud when you’re actually in alignment. And why being underqualified isn’t a flaw — it’s a necessary stage. This episode is for the woman who feels called into something new but is navigating other people’s projections, doubts, and expectations. The woman learning how to protect her mind while she builds. The woman realizing that her intelligence, worth, and value don’t disappear just because she’s learning.Starting over isn’t weakness. It’s motion. And you’re allowed to be new.If this episode resonated, I’d love to hear what you’re starting over with.DM me, email me, or sit with it quietly.Don’t forget to rate, review, and subscribe to Her Revision Podcast.Until next time. We’re growing, and your voice matters. Off the Page: Don’t Build a Home in Your Hiding Place
Even when I don’t have a full episode in me, I still got a word for y’all. This Off the Page moment is all about community — and how isolation can feel like peace until it becomes hiding. We love to say we’re “protecting our peace,” but sometimes that’s just fear wearing a self-care outfit. The truth is, healing needs people too. You can rest, reset, and recharge alone, but you weren’t meant to stay there forever.Take this as your reminder to find your people, lean into your support system, and stop trying to do life all by yourself. You don’t have to earn community. You just have to let yourself be seen by it.If this resonated, share it with someone who’s been pulling away.✨ Mentioned in this episode:Community, growth, and isolationLearning to accept help and supportTrusting God through connection and vulnerability🎧 Listen to more episodes of Her Revision Podcast:https://pod.link/herrevision📰 Join the newsletter — Rewritten by Jasmine Lashae:https://rewrittenthoughts.substack.com🎶 Vibe with the Her Revision Mood Board Playlist:https://open.spotify.com/playlist/41hS7vu0yS4AIVcwwyCpu6?si=JT4-qIWoTcWb9aI-JR8d7w📲 Connect:Instagram — @jasmine.lashae_Threads — @jasminelashae0105We’re growing, and your voice matters. The Good Guy Complex — And Why It’s Still Manipulation
He wasn’t loud. He wasn’t cruel. He listened. He cared — or at least, he sounded like he did.But somewhere between the deep conversations and “I understand,” you started feeling smaller. That’s the thing about The Good Guy Complex — it’s not toxic in the obvious way. It’s tidy. It’s emotionally aware. It’s the kind of manipulation that hides behind calmness and care.In this episode of Her Revision Podcast, Jasmine Lashae breaks down how emotional fluency can turn into control, why “nice” doesn’t always mean safe, and how to recognize when someone’s using self-awareness to protect their image, not your heart.Because peace without honesty? Cultivating the Unbecoming: The Hard Thing You Keep Putting Off Is the Door

You Were Never Meant to Be Digestible for Everybody.
Today’s episode is personal.I am pulling the curtain back on all the ways I, and so many of us, have been shrinking ourselves without even realizing it.Shrinking our personalities.Shrinking our dreams.Shrinking our energy to make people comfortable. And the truth is, it is exhausting. You were never meant to be digestible for everybody. You were meant to be full. Whole. Loud. Deep. Playful. Passionate. In this season finale, I am talking about what happens when you finally decide to stop editing yourself down, stop shrinking your light, and start showing up fully, even if it makes people uncomfortable.I am closing out this chapter with gratitude, growth, and a promise. The next version of me you hear? She is not playing it safe anymore.Thank you for growing with me through every season.I will be back Tuesday, June 3rd for my one-year anniversary episode, and trust me, the shift is already happening. In the meantime, stay connected with me on Substack: rewrittenthoughts.substack.comP.S. Off the Page: Show Up Anyways.
Segment: Off the PageEpisode Title: Show Up AnywayHost: Jasmine LashaeHey friend. Welcome to Off the Page, the part of Her Revision where I slow it down and share a quick word that’s been sitting on my spirit. These are the short episodes. No fluff. No filter. Just me and you.In this episode, I’m talking about the power of showing up even when you don’t feel like it. Even when you feel behind. Even when your energy is low and your momentum is off. I’ve had to learn that consistency doesn’t mean perfection. It means choosing yourself again and again, even after a setback. So if you’ve been in a season where you feel like you dropped the ball, this is your reminder. You don’t have to be at your best to keep going. You just have to show up.Take this with you:You’re still growing. You’re still becoming. You’re Staying Because You Don’t Have a ‘Good Reason’ to Leave
In this episode of Her Revision, I’m talking about the relationships that look good on paper but feel empty in your spirit. This isn’t about toxic love. This isn’t about being mistreated. This is about the guilt you feel when someone is trying..but you’re still not moved. When the love starts to feel like obligation… when the desire isn’t matching the effort… when you’re sitting there trying to convince yourself to stay because they didn’t do anything THAT wrong.. that’s what this episode is for. It’s okay to walk away from something that feels kind of okay but not aligned. You don’t need chaos to call it quits. At some point, growth will make you unrecognizable to the people who only know your past. And while that might not be your fault, it is your responsibility to protect your evolution. In this episode, we’re talking about the emotional weight of outgrowing people. When God Gives You What You Asked For… And You Want to Give It Back
Dear Diary,I got exactly what I asked for. And now? Whew.I don’t know why I thought receiving a blessing meant coasting. I thought that when God answered my prayers, everything would just flow, be smooth, feel light. But instead, I got resistance. Work. Discipline. And if I’m being real? I started side-eyeing the blessing itself—like maybe I wasn’t supposed to have this? But I had to check myself. Just because it’s hard doesn’t mean it’s not meant. Just because the weight is heavier than I expected doesn’t mean it’s not mine to carry. In this episode, I’m talking about:✔️ Why we second-guess what we once prayed for✔️ The real reason blessings don’t always feel like blessings✔️ How to stop running from the responsibility of answered prayers✔️ What it really means when things feel “too hard”If you’ve ever felt like giving up on the very thing you once begged God for… this one’s for you.📩 Want more? For The Girl Who’s Not Close To Her Family: Redefining Connection
In this episode, I’m getting real about something that’s often hard to talk about: family. Growing up, I always knew my family relationships didn’t look like the ones I saw around me. I’ve often felt like the outsider, navigating life without that “tight-knit” family bond that so many people seem to have. This weekend, though, I spent time with my cousins, and it opened my eyes to a different kind of family connection—one I didn’t expect but really needed.Together, we’re unpacking what it means when “family” doesn’t look like you thought it would, when you find yourself building your own definition of it, and when you start to let go of the idea of a “perfect” family. For anyone who’s ever felt alone or out of place within their own family, this one’s for you. We’re talking growth, acceptance, and finding unexpected peace in the connections we do have—even if they’re not exactly what we planned.Stay tuned till the end, where I’m sharing how you can stay connected through my newsletter. We’re growing, and your voice matters.
