    384. 7 Things I Wish I Knew Before Becoming a Mother!

    384. 7 Things I Wish I Knew Before Becoming a Mother!  This episode felt like sitting on the porch with us talking about motherhood, emotions, nervous systems, little kids, big feelings, and becoming who God created us to be 🤍 As Emmy prepares to become a mama this summer, we’re sharing some of the biggest lessons motherhood has taught us over the years. In this episode, we talk about: Why your child’s behavior is not your report card Learning to look underneath behavior instead of just reacting to it Why connection changes children more than control Emotional regulation for moms and kids The importance of repair over perfection Why your children are watching how you live Letting motherhood transform you The pressure modern moms feel—and how to release some of it Why staying alive to your own life matters so much One of our favorite reminders: ✨ “Your kids are watching what you do way more than what you say.” 🧶 Links Mentioned Beginning Knitting Resource! https://docs.google.com/document/d/18ArWC6VjZB65j-6DwB2ehEpY70-bLa8biYTHJCsd6Xw/edit?usp=sharing  Childbirth & motherhood prep book (mentioned throughout episode —https://a.co/d/048rHTIT  Learn more about your ad choices. 383. The Hidden Pattern Sabotaging Your Relationships (And How to Change It)

This episode is one of those “you can’t unsee it” conversations. We’re diving into the subtle but powerful patterns that shape your relationships—and how to shift them so you can experience more connection, peace, and joy. Why we often think the problem is the other person The difference between your true self and false self How your false self shows up as: People-pleasing Needing validation Controlling or protecting yourself Why neediness and emotional outsourcing create disconnection How judging and labeling others blocks real intimacy The impact of your thoughts on your relationships Why you cannot have a better relationship than your thoughts about someone How to start shifting into your most grounded, loving self Spend one day thinking the highest, most loving thoughts you can about someone you love… and watch how your experience of them changes. 382. The 2-Part Formula for a Life That Actually Feels Good!

In this episode, we’re talking about the balance so many of us are craving: ✨ Structure + Spontaneity ✨ Discipline + Delight ✨ Productivity + Magic We share real-life examples from our own lives (meal prepping, sourdough, last-minute NYC trips, knitting projects, motherhood rhythms, and more) and how we’re learning to hold both. Why routines and rhythms create peace, stability, and freedom How too much structure can make life feel flat or rigid How too much spontaneity can make life feel chaotic and overwhelming The importance of planning ahead so you can be fully present Letting yourself say yes to the “interruptions” that actually are your life Why being fully present matters more than doing everything perfectly Where am I leaning right now—structure or spontaneity? Do I have enough rhythm to support me? Do I have enough play to make life feel alive? 🔗 Links Bauble Bar Bracelet Stack   → https://www.baublebar.com/products/darcy-beaded-bracelet-set-vibrant-multi?_pos=33&_sid=641da63be&_ss=r  Bauble Bar Red Beaded Necklace → https://www.baublebar.com/products/janette-beaded-ring-necklace-carnelian?variant=42551868588116&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=23013992081_PMax%20-%20BT%20-%20Baublebar%20-%20US%20-%20Brand%20-%20Others&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=23014013210&gbraid=0AAAAADj06pCfKe83U7bV0g691if00qtdI&gclid=Cj0KCQjw2MbPBhCSARIsAP3jP9zeA9NILxI-bejqWE5ePeeJQEMxKyuQl6ts5rEQet7oCyqi8TyKsFgaAvUOEALw_wcB  Target Red Short Boots → https://www.target.com/p/women-8217-s-reed-boots-with-memory-foam-insole-universal-thread-8482-red-8-5/-/A-94822655?sid=&TCID=PDS-22806998536&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22797457326&gbraid=0AAAAAD-5dfZnODvh2DjCC5ZgX-z4JVXZl&gclid=Cj0KCQjw2MbPBhCSARIsAP3jP9wPtiqLd7-ok7bUjGd1tX2_D0g0P5mXdPmp5ZSdm28uN3_DW4DcqfYaAsVVEALw_wcB  We talk about:Questions to ask yourself: Learn more about your ad choices. This episode is all about creating a “House of Joy” through tiny, intentional habits—the kind that shape the atmosphere of your life and leave lasting memories for the people you love. We talk about: Creating a signature scent in your home (hello, diffusers ✨) Always having something baking or brewing Using soft lighting to calm your nervous system Keeping a rhythm of creating with your hands Wearing things you love (not saving them for “someday”) Prioritizing time outside as a daily reset You don’t create a beautiful life through big moments. 380. 7 Thoughts That Are Making You Feel Disconnected in Your Relationship (and What to Think Instead)

This episode is all about how your thinking is shaping your experience of your relationships—and how to shift it in simple, powerful ways. We talk about: Why we default to thinking the problem is “out there” How your thoughts create your emotional experience (not the other person) Why disconnection often starts internally, not externally The “House of Joy” mindset in relationships “They should be different” → creates resistance “I shouldn’t have to go first” → creates emotional gridlock “They always / they never” → creates distorted thinking “We’re just not as connected anymore” → creates more disconnection “They don’t care” → creates shutdown “This shouldn’t be this hard” → creates discouragement “This just isn’t working” → creates emotional withdrawal Thinking your highest thoughts about the people you love Creating connection intentionally (instead of waiting for it) Practicing small, meaningful moments of love and presence The 7 thoughts that create disconnection:What actually helps:Becoming the version of yourself you want to be in the relationship Why You Feel Disconnected in Your Relationships Webinar:  WEDNESDAY April 29th, at NOON eastern!  https://www.ediewadsworthcoaching.com/connect Learn more about your ad choices. 379. This Is Why Your Life Isn’t Changing (It’s Not What You Think)

What if the reason you’re not getting the results you want… has nothing to do with your circumstances? In this episode, I’m sharing one of the most powerful concepts I’ve ever practiced and taught—how your internal state (your thoughts, emotions, and energy) is shaping everything in your life. After a transformative weekend at our House of Joy coaches retreat, I saw this truth more clearly than ever: it’s not what’s happening around you—it’s who you’re being within it. Even in the middle of hard things, you can choose a different way of showing up. This episode will gently challenge how you think about change—and invite you into a more peaceful, powerful way of living. We talk about: Why most of us believe external things need to change first How your emotional state shapes your entire life experience The difference between living in: Fear, shame, anxiety (low-energy states) Love, joy, peace, gratitude (high-energy states) How your nervous system plays into this (fight-or-flight vs. rest-and-trust) Why being around people who live at a higher level is so powerful How your “energetic signature” impacts your relationships, your work, and your results 📍 Mentioned: Dr. David Hawkins’ Map of Consciousness- https://a.co/d/0eqs43Sw  Next Level Life Coaching Summit-  Learn more about your ad choices. 378. The 3-Part Code of Your Highest Self: Thoughts, Emotions, Actions

What if the life you want isn’t something you have to wait for… but something you can start living today? In this short but powerful episode, I’m sharing one of my favorite frameworks I teach inside Life Mentoring School: the 3-part code of your highest self. We’re talking about how to shift your thoughts, create your emotional life on purpose, and take aligned action—so you can start showing up as the version of you who already lives the life you want. This isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about becoming more of who you already are. If you’ve been feeling stuck, reactive, or disconnected from the life you want… you are just going to LOVE this one.  Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

    377. The Little Things That Are Changing My Life Right Now!

In this episode, we’re talking about how to romanticize your life in real, tangible ways—not by pretending everything is perfect, but by bringing intention and presence to what already is. Here are a few of the little things currently bringing me so much life: Travel knitting (yes, I cast on a whole sweater just for the trip ✨) Coordinated retreat goodies + planning meaningful experiences Self-coaching + journaling through hard moments My favorite oversized linen shirt (truly perfect for everything) Knitting baby bonnets for my grandbabies  Porch swing time with my grandboys Being outside as much as possible The joy of preparing for a trip Staying consistent with movement, even in a hard season We also talk about: Why you don’t need different circumstances to enjoy your life How small moments shape your overall experience Creating peace and intention—even in the middle of uncertainty 📖 Mentioned: Practicing the Presence of People by Mike Mason Learn more about your ad choices. 376. 5 “Weird” Things We Did as a Family (That I’m Now So Grateful For)

This episode is a little different… and so much fun. Today Emme and I are sitting down for a lighthearted conversation about the “weird” things we did as a family growing up—things she definitely didn’t love at the time 😅 But here’s the funny part… She’s starting to do a lot of them now. We talk about: Growing up in an “ingredient household” (and why that actually mattered) Why I made the girls do daily “rest time” (and why they’d bring it back!) Our stance on sleepovers—and how it shaped safety and connection Driving an hour to church every single Sunday for 20 years Creating a home that felt joyful, colorful, and a little unconventional And underneath all the laughter, there’s something deeper: The rhythms and traditions you create in your home matter more than you think. Even the ones your kids roll their eyes at 😉 Because one day… they might just carry them into their own lives. This one is cozy, funny, and full of heart—and I think you’ll see a little bit of your own family in it too. Mentioned in this episode! 375. What This Sweater Taught Me About Hard Seasons, Growth & Receiving Support

This is a short episode, but it carries a lot of heart. Today I’m telling you a story about a sweater… but really, it’s a story about growth, hard seasons, and who we’re becoming in the middle of it all. I started a knitting project that I definitely was not ready for. At first glance, it felt overwhelming—too complicated, too intricate, too much. And honestly? That’s exactly how some seasons of life feel. But slowly, with patience, help, and a whole lot of staying with it, something shifted. In this episode, we talk about: Why hard seasons often feel like “too much” at first How growth happens through staying, not rushing The beauty of learning something you once thought you couldn’t do Why the hard things in your life may be forming something in you The powerful (and often overlooked) practice of receiving support How to recognize the love and help that’s already surrounding you One of the biggest lessons I’m learning right now is this: You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to stay. And maybe—just maybe—this season is teaching you something you’ll carry for the rest of your life. I love you so much. I’m so grateful you’re here. 374. If You Feel Far from God: Finding Him in the Middle of Hard Seasons!

This episode is a really special one. We’re sitting down during Holy Week, in the middle of a season that has felt both beautiful and incredibly hard for our family. And we wanted to just have an honest, heartfelt conversation about what it’s like when life feels heavy… and God feels far. Because if you’ve ever been there (and I think we all have), you know how disorienting it can feel. In this episode, we talk about: Why hard seasons can make God feel distant—even when He’s not The very real emotions that come up (anger, grief, confusion… all of it) How God meets us through people, small moments, and everyday grace The spiritual rhythms that have grounded our family for years Why you don’t need a “perfect” faith routine to feel close to God How suffering can open our eyes to what really matters One of the biggest things I’ve been reminded of in this season is this: You don’t have to strive to find God. He is already with you. Sometimes it just looks like noticing Him in the smallest places—a prayer before dinner, a Sunday drive to church, a kind text from a friend, or even a sweater you’ve carried through hard days. If you’re in a season where things feel uncertain or heavy, I hope this episode feels like a deep breath… and a reminder that you are held. We love you so much. Truly. 373. 7 Signs You’re Living From Your Ego (And How to Come Back to Your True Self)

This is one of those episodes that might make you pause and think… oh wow, that’s me. And I just want you to know—this comes with so much love. Today we’re talking about something that affects every single one of us: the difference between living from your ego (false self) and living from your true self. Most of us learned, without even realizing it, how to live in survival mode—how to protect ourselves, perform, compare, and prove. But that way of living? It’s exhausting. And the beautiful truth is… it’s not how you were created to live. In this episode, I walk you through 7 signs you might be living from your ego, including: Constantly feeling evaluated or self-conscious Getting defensive or over-explaining Living with pressure and urgency Comparing yourself to others Struggling to receive love or compliments Avoiding discomfort and playing small Feeling disconnected from yourself And then we talk about what to do next—how to gently come back to the version of you that is: grounded, loved, peaceful, and whole. This isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about coming home to who you already are. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

    372. The Freedom of Being Who God Created You to Be with Susan Shull

What if the freedom you’re looking for isn’t found in becoming someone new—but in finally becoming who you already are? I’m joined by the incredible Susan Shull—someone who so beautifully embodies what it means to live as your true self—and we’re diving into one of the most important conversations we have inside Life Mentoring School. If you’ve ever felt like you’re trying to fit in… If you’ve found yourself constantly comparing… If you’ve wondered, “Who am I really, underneath all of this?”… This conversation is for you. Susan shares her journey from people pleasing and seeking approval to discovering a deeper, more grounded identity rooted in who God says she is. And let me tell you—it’s not about becoming someone new. It’s about waking up to who you’ve been all along. We talk about: The difference between your true self and false self Why comparison keeps you stuck (even when you “know better”) How confidence is actually rooted in identity—not ego The small, brave “yeses” that change everything What it looks like to live your life from love instead of fear One of my favorite parts of this conversation is the reminder that this isn’t a one-time transformation—it’s a daily practice. A coming back. A remembering. And the freedom on the other side? It changes everything. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

    371. Living Well in Uncertainty: Finding Peace When You Don’t Know What’s Next!

I’m coming to you from a tender, uncertain season—one where I don’t have all the answers and can’t quite map out the next 90 days the way I normally would. And if you’ve ever walked through something like that, you know how disorienting it can feel. But even here… there is still so much goodness. In this episode, I’m sharing what’s been anchoring me lately—the thoughts, practices, and gentle shifts that are helping me stay grounded, present, and connected to joy, even when life feels uncertain. We talk about: What to do when you can’t “plan” your next season How to focus on what is certain when everything feels unknown Choosing who you want to be, even when circumstances are shaky Giving yourself compassion instead of pressure Why continuing to create (in small ways) can be so healing Staying open to joy, beauty, and tiny miracles right now Simple, powerful thoughts to anchor you in hard seasons If you’re feeling a little tender… a little out of sorts… or like life isn’t unfolding the way you expected—this is for you. You are not alone. And there is still so much life available to you right here. Also—Life Mentoring School is open right now, and we’re heading into one of my favorite seasons inside the program. 370. The Glow Up That Starts From the Inside Out // Best of 2025

Hi, dear ones — Today I’m bringing back one of my favorite conversations from last year, all about the kind of glow up that really matters — the one that starts on the inside. In this episode, Emme and I talk about beauty, style, skincare, confidence, and the things that truly make a woman magnetic. And while we do share some fun favorites along the way, what we really get into is this: the most powerful transformation doesn’t come from a product, a trend, or a perfect outfit. It comes from the work you do in your heart, your mind, and your everyday life. We talk about what it means to care for yourself well, how your emotional and mental health show up on your face and in your presence, and why real beauty has so much more to do with joy, confidence, and authenticity than anything external. In this episode, we chat about: Why the biggest glow up starts from the inside out The difference between outer beauty and true magnetism How joy, healing, and emotional health change the way you look and feel The kind of presence that lights up a room Taking care of your skin and body in a nourishing, realistic way Personal style as self-expression and confidence Some of our favorite skincare, fashion, and glow-up staples from last year This one originally aired last year, but the message still feels so timely and so worth revisiting. I hope it encourages you to care for yourself deeply, to honor the season you’re in, and to remember that your most radiant self is never about perfection — it’s about becoming more fully who God created you to be. 369. 4 Anchors That Will Carry You Through Hard Seasons!

This episode is a little different than usual. The last couple of weeks have been some of the hardest our family has faced. We recently received news that will likely change the next several months of our lives and will involve treatments, medical decisions, and a lot of unknowns. I’m not quite ready to share all the details yet because some of it is still unfolding and involves people I love dearly. But I felt like I wanted to come on and share the anchors that have been holding me steady in this season. Because what I’ve experienced in the middle of this hard moment is something surprising: deep peace, gratitude, and even joy. Not because the situation is easy — but because the tools, faith, and practices I’ve been cultivating for years are carrying me through in ways I never could have imagined. So today I’m sharing four anchors that have helped me navigate one of the hardest seasons of my life. We talk about: Deciding who you want to be in hard seasons Why your brain naturally scans for fear (and how to widen your gaze) Learning to notice tiny miracles even when life feels heavy Allowing yourself to feel every emotion without being ruled by them How faith and community become lifelines when things feel uncertain Why joy can still exist in the middle of pain One of the biggest things I’ve realized in the last two weeks is this: We don’t get to choose many of the circumstances that come into our lives. But we do get to choose how we show up inside them. And the tools we talk about here at House of Joy — mindset, emotional capacity, faith, presence — matter most when life isn’t going the way we planned. If you’re walking through a hard season right now, I hope this episode feels like a gentle companion. And if you feel led, I would deeply appreciate your prayers for our family as we step into the unknown in the weeks ahead. I love you all so much. Thank you for being here. Today on the podcast, I’m joined by Jessica Honegger, founder of Noonday Collection, and I cannot tell you how much I loved this conversation. I’ve been wearing and loving Noonday pieces for years, so getting to sit down with Jessica and talk about the heart behind what she’s built felt extra special. We talk about what it really looks like to build something meaningful over the long haul — not just the pretty, polished parts, but the inner work, the risk, the resilience, and the courage it takes to stay when things get hard. Jessica shares the story of how Noonday began, how motherhood and entrepreneurship collided in those early years, and what she means when she talks about “doing the work.” We talk about naming the stories we carry, building real community, letting ourselves be seen, and learning how to keep going with honesty and heart. We also talk about: how shame and secrecy keep women stuck why being witnessed in safe community is so healing the emotional and spiritual formation that happens through entrepreneurship the difference between being a starter and becoming a stayer what it looks like to build a business that reflects your values why creating beauty, opportunity, and connection matters so much And of course… we had to talk style too. We chat about Noonday’s newest collection, favorite statement pieces, travel style, and the shoes we’d wear to Italy and Greece. This one is full of wisdom, honesty, and so much inspiration for any woman who wants to build something beautiful — whether that’s a business, a family, a community, or simply a more courageous life. 367. I’m Becoming My Mother (And Honestly… I Love It)

Today is a special, extra-fun episode because Emme and I are literally twinning (matching sets, matching Uggs… the whole thing). And it felt like the perfect day to talk about a theme that keeps popping up in our lives lately: “I’m becoming my mother.” Emme is in her becoming a mother era (baby girl on the way!), and I’m in my becoming a Grammy who knits baby bonnets era… so naturally, this conversation turned into a funny, tender, unexpectedly meaningful reflection on what we inherit, what we emulate, and what we choose to do differently. We talk about: The moment Emme got ready for church and her husband said, “You literally look exactly like your mom.” 😂 How we change as we age—from FOMO to JOMO (the joy of missing out) What it’s like when your home becomes your favorite place to be The beautiful parts of family legacy (and the parts we want to rewrite) Why “becoming your mother” can be a gift… even if your relationship with your mom is complicated The kind of women (and communities) that make you feel seen, cared for, and fed—in every sense of the word We also share some cozy-life favorites at the end: what we’re listening to, what we’re making, what we’re reading, and a few things that are bringing us joy right now. If this episode brings up tenderness for you—whether you’re grateful for your mom, grieving what you didn’t get, or trying to choose a new story for your own family—just know this: you’re allowed to take the good, heal what hurt, and create something beautiful from here. 366. The Confidence Code: 4 Identity Shifts That Change Everything

Hi dear ones 💛 This episode is so special because I’m giving you a behind-the-scenes teaching from our spring workshop, The Confidence Code — and truly, this work has changed my life. If you’ve ever looked in the mirror and thought, “I don’t even know her anymore…” If you’ve felt your spark dim. If you’ve wondered whether your best days are behind you. This is for you. In this teaching, I walk you through four identity shifts that helped me step out of survival mode and into a life filled with energy, joy, purpose, and presence. I share vulnerably about: Watching old videos of myself from 8–11 years ago and barely recognizing that tired, inflamed, joyless version of me Walking through anxiety, depression, perimenopause, weight gain, and the aftermath of our house fire The decision I made to shift my identity from the inside out And how that decision led to: Writing a book Building two thriving businesses Healing my marriage Adopting our son Reclaiming my spark If you’re ready to reconnect with your voice, your identity, and the highest version of yourself that God created, I would absolutely love to see you inside The Confidence Code workshop. We’re also doing a special style mini-series inside the workshop — including: A closet tour A capsule wardrobe planning session for my upcoming Mediterranean trip Behind-the-scenes identity work expressed through style You can join us through the link in the show notes. You are not stuck. You are not behind. And your spark is not gone. 365. The Art of Restarting: How to Begin Again Without Shame!

Today we are talking about something every human needs: the art of restarting. Because let’s be honest… most of us aren’t struggling with starting—we’re struggling with what happens after we fall off. If you’ve ever had a great routine going and then life happened… if you’ve ever told yourself “I’m just not consistent,” or “I always quit,” this episode is for you. We’re reframing restarting as a skill, a mindset, and honestly… a superpower. Why restarting feels emotional (and why that’s normal) The “three-month struggle bus” — when motivation wears off and the real work begins How shame turns one missed day into one missed month Why you’re never restarting from zero How to build a “restart fast” identity (playful, simple, no drama) Why the story you tell yourself (“I’m not good at this”) becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy How to increase desire and make your goals exciting again (yes… sometimes it’s the new shoes 😅) The hidden cost of overthinking: how mental spirals take more energy than doing the thing Mom restarting knitting (again and again) and why it finally stuck this time Dad restarting golf after years away — and why that’s actually so inspiring Emmy restarting decorating/creating a home and learning not to give up mid-process Pregnancy routines, changing energy levels, and learning to restart with grace The magic isn’t in never falling off. The magic is in how quickly you come back. Restarting isn’t proof you’re failing— it’s proof you care… and you’re still in the game. What’s one thing you want to restart this week—without shame? One walk. One prayer. One nourishing meal. One page. One tiny step. And celebrate it. Every row. Every rep. Every restart. 364. The Year We Stop Dressing Small: Style, Identity & Becoming Your Most Magnetic Self!

Today we’re talking about something that might sound light — but is actually deeply meaningful. We’re talking about style. Not trends. Not fast fashion. Not “what’s in.” But identity. Presence. Expression. Becoming. I truly believe 2026 is the year we stop dressing small. In this episode, I share what’s been stirring in me as I plan my capsule wardrobe for our Mediterranean trip (Greece + Italy, here we come!) — and how this whole process has reminded me that confidence doesn’t live in your closet. Style is not about copying someone else’s aesthetic. It’s about asking: Who am I becoming? How do I want to feel when I walk into a room? What energy do I want to bring? We talk about: Why Lent isn’t about shrinking your life — but about stripping away what dulls you The emotional power of color and texture How midlife can tempt us to mute ourselves Why maximalist energy feels like a homecoming for me The difference between buying outfits and developing style And how a simple closet edit can wake you back up An invitation to: ✨ Stop apologizing ✨ Stop shrinking ✨ Stop dressing for who you were ✨ And step into your most alive, magnetic self Because the world doesn’t need a quieter version of you. It needs the truest version of you. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

    363. 5 Ways to Fall Back in Love With Your Life!

    363. 5 Ways to Fall Back in Love With Your Life! Feeling a little bored, restless, apathetic… or like you’re just going through the motions? In today’s episode, Emme and I talk about 5 practical ways to fall back in love with your life — not by “blowing it all up,” but by becoming more present, more intentional, and more emotionally available for the life you already have. Because here’s the truth: the fastest way to change your life is often to stop waiting for a different life… and start loving this one on purpose. In this episode we cover: Why attention is everything (and how your awareness can literally change your experience of life) Reclaiming your agency when you feel stuck, tired, or “at the effect” of your circumstances Expanding your emotional capacity so you can feel the hard stuff without shrinking—and enjoy the good stuff more deeply Devoting yourself to the ordinary and creating rituals that make everyday life feel meaningful again Practicing gratitude through stewardship: caring for your body, relationships, and calling like they matter (because they do) This one is lighthearted, honest, and full of “try-this-today” takeaways—especially if you’ve been craving more joy, more presence, and more aliveness in your everyday. 362. The 5 Standards I Refuse to Negotiate With (How to Build Energy, Stability, and Leadership in Midlife)

In this episode of House of Joy, I’m sharing five standards I no longer negotiate in midlife. For years, I negotiated with myself about things that deeply mattered — my strength, my sleep, my emotional health, my hormones, my spiritual life. I told myself I was “fine.” I told myself I’d get to it later. I told myself it wasn’t that important. But here’s what I’ve learned: If you want to live with energy, leadership, joy, connection, and purpose… you have to decide what is no longer optional. In this episode, I walk you through: Why strength training has become essential for my longevity and calling How emotional resilience protects your peace and transforms your relationships Why sleep is sacred (and how I protect it) The importance of taking ownership of your hormone health in midlife The spiritual rhythm that grounds and refills me week after week These aren’t trends. They aren’t fads. They’re standards. And when you stop negotiating the things that support your body, mind, and spirit, everything changes. As you listen, I’d love for you to ask yourself: What are my non-negotiables in this season of life? Because you deserve a life that feels strong, stable, and deeply nourished. 361. Sisterhood, Survival & So Much Joy: A Conversation with My Sister Gina Williams

Today you’re in for such a treat — my sister Gina is on the podcast! We’re talking about sisterhood, family, healing, and the kind of bond that’s forged when you’ve walked through life side-by-side. We start with the sweetest recap of our Key West surprise trip for our mom’s 80th birthday (including the restaurant moment that made us all cry… and the golf cart adventures we’ll never forget). Then we zoom out and talk about what it really looks like to stay close as sisters through different seasons — raising kids, becoming grandmothers, and learning how to show up for each other with love and steadiness. Gina also shares about a big transition: after nearly 20 years working in church leadership and administration, she felt a clear “green light” from God to step into a new chapter — and she’s now on our team helping with the finance side of the business. We talk about what it’s like to change careers later in life, and how coaching (and especially Master Coach) has helped her soften, feel, and find real freedom on the inside. This episode is full of laughs, memories, and the kind of conversation that reminds you: you don’t have to do life alone — and it’s never too late to grow. In this episode, we talk about: Surprising our mom in Key West for her 80th birthday (and why it meant so much) What makes sibling relationships thrive (and what doesn’t) How our childhood shaped us differently — even though we lived the same story Gina’s big career transition after two decades in church leadership “I’m fine” energy, emotional suppression, and the brave work of softening Why coaching helps you build a better life on the inside (even if the outside looks the same) The joy of doing life together through motherhood and grandparenthood Mentioned in the episode: The Free People cashmere sweater: https://www.freepeople.com/shop/porta-cashmere-henley/?color=045&countryCode=US&g_acctid=925-773-0063&g_adgroupid=&g_adid=&g_adtype=none&g_campaign=PLAs%20US%20-%20Smart%20Shopping%20PMAX%20US%20-%20Performance%20Max%20-%20Priority&g_campaignid=18784532312&g_keyword=&g_keywordid=&g_network=x&gad_campaignid=18777975543&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADmlMfkNApZl5TLAg-I-ci3rtn5Qm&gclid=Cj0KCQiA7rDMBhCjARIsAGDBuEBzy0UVSGDc2EPpknINi7wQAxSV841aN08dMu-4v4cbBMMCErKxFJgaAqftEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds&inventoryCountry=US&utm_kxconfid=vx6ro62gj Learn more about your ad choices. 360. The Quiet Work of Loving Well!

In today’s episode, I’m inviting you into a quieter, more tender conversation about what it really means to love well. This has been a season full of anticipation and preparation in my life — birthdays, babies, travel, knitting projects, extra food on the stove, and lots of behind-the-scenes tending. And on the very same day I recorded this, I was also having a deeply tender day myself — the kind of day that requires real care, emotional honesty, and support. In this episode, I share how the quiet work of loving well often starts with tending to ourselves — especially when life feels full, emotional, or demanding. I talk about how caring for your inner life doesn’t shrink your joy, but actually expands your capacity for it. We’ll explore: What the quiet work of loving well actually looks like in everyday life How anticipation and preparation shape the way we love Why making extra, planning ahead, and living with intention matter more than we think The importance of receiving care just as much as giving it How ordinary acts, done with love, shape a meaningful and joyful life This episode is a gentle reminder that love doesn’t always look loud or dramatic. Often, it looks like knitting a scarf, making an extra batch of soup, tending to your own heart, and showing up with intention — again and again. I hope this conversation encourages you to slow down, soften, and notice how love is already expanding your life in quiet, beautiful ways. Learn more about your ad choices. 359. 10 Simple Ways to Show Love (That Actually Change Everything)

It’s officially love month, and we’re leaning all the way in. In this episode, Edie and Emme share 10 (okay… maybe 12) practical, real-life ways to show love—the kind that actually makes people feel seen, safe, and cared for. We start with a mindset shift we learned years ago: lovability doesn’t come from the other person—it comes from your ability to love them. Which means you have more agency than you think to create love in your relationships, regardless of circumstances. Then we get super tangible: the everyday, ordinary things that become extraordinary when they’re “clothed in love.” Why love is a choice and a skill you can grow How making food (especially soup) can be one of the most powerful acts of love The importance of human touch (hello “compassion circles” + holding hands) One of the most underrated forms of love: cleaning something for someone quietly (without martyr energy) How making things beautiful is a real way to care for the people around you Why it’s loving to pause before reacting—especially in parenting + relationships The “small thing” that helps you stay loving: do one thing that makes you feel like you How giving someone your full attention (aka putting the phone down) is one of the most expensive gifts you can give The power of apologizing quickly and repairing fast Thoughtfulness that lands every time: cards, notes, tiny gifts, and “I thought of you” moments Our favorite practice: a LOVE SPREE—writing down everything you love about someone…and then telling them Pick one person. Write down everything you love about them. And then—don’t keep it to yourself—tell them today. Because you’ll feel the love while you’re thinking it… and they’ll feel it when you share it. 358. The Emotion No One Talks About That’s Draining Your Joy

This episode was born out of a weekend that cracked my heart wide open. My siblings and I surprised my mama for her 80th birthday in Key West, and watching her soak in love and connection made me reflect on something I see all the time in midlife women — and something I’ve had to work through myself. There’s one emotion that quietly drains our joy, steals our energy, and keeps us living in a low-grade heaviness… and most women don’t even realize it’s there because it doesn’t always show up as anger. It shows up as irritability. Emotional flatness. Apathy. That “I don’t even know what I want anymore” feeling. It can even look like being capable and responsible… but secretly exhausted and resentful underneath it all. Today we’re talking about resentment — why it creeps in, how it keeps your body in survival mode, and how it silently poisons the person holding it (even when we think it’s about someone else). We’ll also talk about what I learned from my mom: emotional freedom is possible, and joy is often much closer than you think. And if you’re craving real support learning how to process emotions, expand your capacity, and build emotional wealth — I’m doing something I don’t normally do: we’re opening Life Mentoring School for 3 days. Even if you join for one month, come get the tools. Come learn how to feel lighter. Resentment isn’t who you are. It’s who you became to survive. And you’re safe now to soften. 357. 5 Pieces of Advice We’re So Glad We Didn’t Take!

Well hi, dear ones! Today’s episode is a fun one. We wanted to do something a little lighter, a little more “front porch chat”… but still so good. We’re sharing five pieces of advice we’re genuinely grateful we didn’t take — because whew, we live in an age where everyone has an opinion on how you should live, love, work, and make decisions. And a lot of that “advice” sounds wise… until you actually try to build a life you love. So consider this your permission slip to pause, question the narrative, and decide what’s true for you. Why I’m glad I didn’t stay stuck in the “steady 9–5 is the only safe way” mindset The relationship advice floating around the internet that can quietly breed resentment (and what we think is healthier) My personal hot take: more is more (more joy, more love, more beauty, more life) Why “wait until you’re ready” is often just fear in a cute outfit — and how to move anyway The best reframe of all: get your hopes up (because not getting your hopes up is basically being disappointed in advance) the Aerie sweat set (especially pregnancy-friendly!) https://www.ae.com/us/en/p/aerie/clothing/loungewear/offline-by-aerie-ott-fleece-super-wide-leg-pant/1703_1248_012?menu=cat1090003&ip=off&utm_source=google&utm_medium=pla&utm_content=aerie&utm_campaign=nogender_bottoms_general&utm_term=nonbrand&utm_id=20001158336&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=20001158336&gbraid=0AAAAADovoqLTyCTYF-Ktn9_X34NiA4okY&gclid=Cj0KCQiAhOfLBhCCARIsAJPiopMqrE-xkIolWqogrAbqamy8BW2pQcqJF_ghrw1Wz4dNjgJ38JR7B4kaAhvGEALw_wcB  https://www.ae.com/us/en/p/aerie/clearance/clothing/tops/sweatshirts-hoodies/offline-by-aerie-ott-seamed-quarter-zip-sweatshirt/2164_2141_012 The Rhode peptide lip tint in “Ribbon” https://www.rhodeskin.com/products/peptide-lip-tint-ribbon?srsltid=AfmBOopuzGvRF3-ue0v9P9EcXmNG61BmXoXBSsaYiQAD-L5RQCkman6O  My upgraded method for the lemon chicken rice soup (so flavorful) https://substack.com/home/post/p-185682117 If you loved this episode, come tell us on Instagram: What advice are YOU officially not taking anymore? 356. What If You Haven’t Even Scratched the Surface? The Joy, Purpose, and Life You Haven’t Touched Yet.

What if you haven’t even scratched the surface of the life you could have? In this episode, I invite you into a question that has been lingering in my own heart lately — especially as I reflect on a full, beautiful year and look ahead with fresh curiosity and hope. So many women I work with love their lives and are deeply grateful… yet still feel a quiet sense of disengagement. Life looks good on the outside, but inside something feels muted. Less alive. Less lit up than it once did. Today, we explore the idea that your life isn’t limited by your circumstances — it’s shaped from the inside out. There is no ceiling on the amount of joy, meaning, connection, purpose, or aliveness you’re allowed to experience. The question is: where might you be unintentionally placing limits on yourself? In this episode, we talk about: Why midlife can feel dull even when life is “good” How joy, purpose, and meaning are created internally — not externally The difference between needing rest and needing aliveness How under-expression and disengagement lead to quiet exhaustion What might change if you believed there was more available to you How to stop blocking what wants to move through you This conversation is an invitation — not to hustle, strive, or chase something new — but to soften, open, and re-engage with your own life. 355. 7 Things We’re Carrying Into 2026!

It’s a cozy “back on the couch” episode in the actual House of Joy — and it’s full of real life, real laughter, and a brand new year energy we can actually feel. Dr. Edie and Emme are sharing 7 surprising things they’re carrying into 2026… and yes, there’s a very big, very joyful announcement you’ll want to hear early in the episode. From slowing down in January (without guilt), to treating attention like a spiritual practice, to trusting the unfinished work, this conversation is a permission slip to enter the year with more intention, more wonder, and way less pressure to “do it perfectly.” In this episode, we talk about: Emme’s major life update (and why she was in a “stinky mood” at first 😅) What a slower January can do for your nervous system and your joy Attention as a spiritual practice (and why hobbies help you come alive) Trusting the unfinished work—in knitting, life, and the creative process Setting goals that nourish you, not goals that impress people Creating a home that feels like peace (even in a rental) Identity shifts: matriarch/Grammy era + new mom era Choosing wonder and awe on ordinary days Favorite things: skincare + cozy shows + the “portable TV” era ✨ We’d love to hear: What are you carrying into 2026? 354. You’re Not Behind: Why January Is the Perfect Time to Begin Again

January isn’t about hustling harder or proving anything — it’s an invitation to slow down, soften, and reconnect with yourself. In this cozy, reflective episode, I am reflecting on why January is my favorite month and how a pile of half-finished knitting projects became a powerful metaphor for midlife, creativity, and self-compassion. So many women carry quiet shame about what they haven’t finished — the dreams they paused, the goals they started and stopped, the skills they picked up and put down. But what if those “unfinished projects” aren’t evidence of failure… but proof that you’ve been listening to yourself all along? In this episode, I am exploring: Why January is a natural permission slip to slow down and reset How a miracle mindset changes the way you experience your life The hidden cost of telling yourself “I should be further along” Why half-finished dreams still matter — and still count How honoring your desires (even quietly) brings joy, creativity, and impact Reframing inconsistency into curiosity, growth, and self-trust Letting go of shame and learning to love the process, not just the outcome This conversation is an invitation to stop apologizing for your pace, your path, and your process — and to gently pick back up whatever is still calling to you. January doesn’t ask you to become someone new. It invites you to come home to who you already are. You’re not behind. You’re becoming. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

    353. Self-Trust, True Self, and Coaching That Actually Changes You with Alene Joiner

In today’s episode, Edie sits down with one of the most beloved voices in the House of Joy community: Alene Joiner—coach, teacher, mother of six, and a woman who has lived the work she teaches. Edie and Alene take us behind the scenes of their friendship (which began in life coach certification), the early days of Life Mentoring School, and how coaching becomes truly transformational when it’s rooted in safety, presence, and emotional capacity—not fixing, performing, or rushing toward “results.” If you’ve ever felt like you’re doing all the right things on the outside but still don’t feel at peace on the inside… this conversation will meet you right where you are. Alene’s story: motherhood, faith, psychology, and the path that led her into coaching Why therapy can feel helpful…and still leave you asking “Okay, now what?” The moment Alene realized: “I can be my own role model.” The difference between good coaching and transformational coaching Why safety is the foundation for real change (and how community helps create it) How encounter groups were born—and why they’ve become a core part of LMS True self vs. false self (and how to stop shaming your coping strategies) What many women in midlife are carrying… and why it’s exhausting Master Coach Training: “learning to sit with someone in the dark without rushing them to the light” The surprising truth: what we most want isn’t a new outcome—it’s to like who we see in the mirror Come say hi on Instagram and tell us: What would change if you stopped abandoning yourself this year? 352. If Nothing Changes This Year, This Is What It Will Cost You!

Most women don’t experience a new year. They experience the same year… with a different number on the calendar. In this powerful start to 2026, Dr. Edie Wadsworth invites you into an honest conversation about something we rarely name out loud: the quiet cost of staying the same. This episode isn’t about goals, habits, or hustle. It’s about what slowly gets lost when we settle into comfort, delay change, and quietly abandon ourselves. You’ll hear: Why staying the same is not neutral—and what it’s actually costing you How emotional numbness, disconnection, and “Groundhog Day living” take root The hidden grief of unlived dreams, unused gifts, and unanswered callings Why comfort can dull desire—and how that impacts your sense of purpose What it really means to stop abandoning yourself and come fully alive again This is an invitation to wake up—not out of shame or pressure, but out of love for the life you’ve been given and the gifts you’re meant to share. Because the cost of staying the same isn’t just personal. It’s collective. When you don’t live fully, the world misses you. If you’ve felt the quiet ache that says, there has to be more than this, this episode is for you. ✨ Ready for support as you step into real change? Life Mentoring School is currently open. 351. Stop Living the Same Year on Repeat! Made for More Day 1

    351. Stop Living the Same Year on Repeat! Made for More Day 1 We’re sharing a powerful excerpt from Day 1 of the Made for More workshop—and it’s the foundation for real change in 2026. Most people don’t actually experience a new year… they experience the same year with a different number. If your days have felt like Groundhog Day—same mental loops, same emotional patterns, same quiet feeling that you were made for more—this episode is where the shift begins. In this teaching, Dr. Edie walks you through the framework that explains why you don’t experience life “as it is,” but through your thoughts, identity, and the story you’re living inside of. You’ll learn how the brain defaults to survival, why problem-focused thinking crowds out joy, and how to reconnect with your true self—the version of you that already carries a miracle mindset. This isn’t about fixing yourself. It’s about remembering who you are. Why most women don’t live a “new” year—just repeat the old one The #1 reason change doesn’t stick: trying to change from the outside in How your brain is wired for survival + problem scanning (default mode) The role of the prefrontal cortex in choosing intentional thoughts + creating Why your experience of life can’t rise above the thoughts you practice How rumination turns thoughts into identity (and then into your reality) Why joy, desire, creativity, and wonder get crowded out in survival mode How to shift from false self (protective survival) to true self (love + freedom) What Dr. Edie calls the Miracle Mindset—and how to practice it daily The concept of an identity set point (and how to upgrade it) In this episode, you’ll learn:Workshop reminderIf you’re listening on Thursday, January 8, it’s not too late to join Made for More. 350. A Deeper, Richer Life in 2026: The Shift That Will Change How This Year Feels

Most women I know don’t want more to do… but they do want to experience their lives differently.  In this episode, we’re talking about why the “more” you’re craving—more peace, joy, clarity, energy, and presence—isn’t found in doing more or fixing your life from the outside in. Real change happens inside-out. And when your inner world shifts, your whole life starts to feel different—even if your circumstances stay the same. Dr. Edie also shares stories from Big Sky (including the reminder that two people can live the same moment and experience it completely differently), plus a little life update: her birthday, cozy January rhythms, knitting goals, and why she’s all-in on creating a life that feels deep and rich—not just busy. Why most women don’t want more tasks—they want more peace and aliveness The trap of trying to change from the outside in What “Made for More” actually means (hint: not hustle, not pressure) Why you may not trust yourself to follow through—and what’s really underneath that How emotional depletion, old identity, and limiting beliefs sabotage change Why the quality of your life is shaped by the quality of your inner world Big Sky as a real-time lesson: same experience, totally different inner reality Why a deeper life (not a bigger one) changes everything The kind of joy we’re after: a deep-down sense that all is well How inner work creates: better relationships, more energy, more clarity, and more freedom Book mentioned: Super Coach Made for More begins tomorrow — and it’s designed to change how you experience your life, not just what you do. Happy Monday after Christmas, dear ones 🤍 In today’s episode, I’m sharing 10 of my favorite lessons from 2025—a year that was full of beauty, growth, celebration, heartache, and deep, meaningful joy. This is a little bit of a year-end reflection and a little bit of a show-and-tell (yes, we’re talking knitting!), but mostly it’s an invitation to step into the kind of life that feels rich where it matters most. Emotional wealth is the real wealth (mic drop)—and how to cultivate it What it looks like to build your business the same way you build your life The little things are the big things (and why ordinary rhythms are everything) Love is your legacy—the kind of life that lasts Why “matriarch energy” and divine feminine leadership changed how I lead How I created my most magical 90 days (and why agency matters) Hobbies make you rich (knitting, wake surfing, horseback riding & learning new things) My book of the year and a passage that re-centered my soul What it means to truly build a House of Joy (as a brand and as a way of life) Why I don’t measure my life by output anymore—I measure it by joy My current knitting obsession + sweater patterns (including “Jesse Also Knits”) Theo of Golden (book recommendation) Noonday earrings My 90-day planning rhythm + dream journaling If this episode stirred something in you—if you want to begin 2026 with intention, joy, and emotional clarity—Made for More is for you. 📅 January 7–9 🎟️ Register: ediewadsworthcoaching.com/more In this episode, we talk about:Mentioned in this episode:✨ Join Me for Made for More (starts Jan 7) Learn more about your ad choices. 346. Why Christmas Feels Magical (And How to Live That Way All Year)

In today’s episode, I’m sharing a story that unexpectedly changed the way I experienced Christmas this year — and I think it might change yours too. A moment that began with holiday pressure, mental clutter, and the urge to “do more” turned into a powerful reminder of how most of us are actually living… and why so many women feel heavy, stuck, or disconnected during what’s supposed to be a magical season. If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, emotionally cluttered, unmotivated, or like something inside you is asking for space — this episode is for you. The moment I didn’t go Christmas shopping — and why that choice changed everything How physical clutter often mirrors emotional clutter on the inside Why so many women feel “off” during the holidays (even when everything looks fine) The two nervous system states we live in: Survival Mode (sympathetic) — rushed, stressed, reactive, numb, or shut down Creation Mode (parasympathetic) — open, grounded, creative, joyful, connected Why most of us are living in survival mode without realizing it How unprocessed emotions don’t disappear — they turn into exhaustion, resentment, numbness, and overwhelm The emotional “backpack” we keep stuffing instead of unpacking A real-life parenting moment with my adventurous 13-year-old that illustrates how quickly we attach to stress — and how to release it faster Why your body cannot thrive in chronic fight-or-flight (and what that means for your health, joy, and relationships) How Christmas “magic” isn’t seasonal — it’s the emotional state we were designed to live in Why emotions don’t need months of analysis — they often need just a few minutes of presence How acknowledging what you’re holding instead of resisting it allows your nervous system to soften and reset The spiritual truth of Emmanuel — God with us — and what it means for your everyday emotional life Why you can’t create a life you love from survival mode How shifting your inner state changes how the world responds to you If this episode stirred something in you, I want to personally invite you to join me for Made for More, my three-day live virtual experience designed to help you move out of survival mode and into a life of clarity, joy, purpose, and emotional freedom. 🗓 January 7–9 ⏰ Live at noon Eastern (with replays) Inside Made for More, I’ll teach you step by step how to: Shift your emotional state Clear inner clutter Reconnect with your truest self Dream and design a life you actually love living Create from presence instead of pressure ✨ Warning: Made for More may cause sudden bursts of joy, clarity, wild hope, and new dreams. 👉 Register here: ediewadsworthcoaching.com/more  In This Episode, We Talk About:Made for More — The Event of the Year Learn more about your ad choices. 344. The Capacity to Hold a Magical Life: Listening to Your Life & Creating a Legacy of Love!

want to ask you a different kind of question. What if the reason your life feels full but not spacious isn’t because you’re doing too much… but because there’s something inside you that hasn’t had room to breathe? Today we’re talking about what it really means to be a high-capacity woman—not in the hustle, grind, “do more” way, but in the deeply rooted, present, alive way. We’ll walk through:  Why your problem isn’t “too much to do” …and why your real limit might be emotional and spiritual capacity, not time.  What high capacity actually looks like on the inside Becoming a clean, clear channel—mentally, emotionally, spiritually—so you can hold the life you’re dreaming of.  How dreaming bigger makes you love your life now How your desires don’t pull you away from your life, they deepen your presence in it.  The quiet clutter stealing your capacity Old stories, limiting beliefs, unprocessed emotions, self-judgment—and how to gently start clearing space.  Simple journaling prompts to expand your inner capacity Questions you can ask yourself this week to listen to your life and make room for what’s next.  Why loving your life now is the legacy you leave How your presence, warmth, and emotional steadiness shape how people feel when they’re with you. This isn’t about cramming more into your schedule. It’s about becoming the woman who can hold the life she’s praying for. Use these in a quiet moment with your journal: What am I carrying emotionally right now that I haven’t fully felt or expressed? What belief about myself or my life feels heavy or limiting right now? What part of my life feels crowded or noisy—and what might it be asking for instead? If my inner world were clear and spacious, what desire might finally have room to speak? 343. Rethinking Confidence: Your True Self Is Already Confident

In today’s episode, Emme and I cozy up (apron, brown sweater, holiday chaos and all 😅) to talk about something so many women quietly struggle with—confidence. Especially in midlife, it can feel like your self-assurance has just… slipped away. Your body is changing, your roles are shifting, and suddenly you’re questioning things you never used to. But what if confidence isn’t something you earn by looking a certain way, achieving a certain goal, or finally “getting it together”? What if confidence is actually your natural state—and the real work is learning how to strip away everything that blocks it? We unpack a different way to see confidence: not as your ability to do anything, but as your willingness to feel anything. Embarrassment, disappointment, shame, vulnerability—your capacity to sit with those emotions, instead of avoiding or overthinking them, is what creates real confidence. We talk about people-pleasing, perfectionism, overthinking, shrinking back, and why trying not to feel disappointed is the very thing that keeps you stuck in disappointment. You’ll also hear: Emme’s honest story about losing (and then finding) confidence while planning her wedding My very first Thanksgiving as a hostess, Martha Stewart expectations, and instantly bursting into tears when my family walked in the door Why vulnerability is not weakness—but the doorway to true connection, safety, and joy in your relationships If you’ve ever walked into a room and wondered, “Why does everyone else seem so confident except me?”—this one’s for you. Your confidence is not missing. It’s just been covered up. Why midlife often triggers a “confidence dip” for women A new definition of confidence: your ability to tolerate and feel hard emotions How overthinking, people-pleasing, and perfectionism quietly block your true self The difference between ego-based “confidence” and grounded, humble confidence How vulnerability actually makes people feel safer and closer to you Simple ways to start accessing the confidence you already have Check out the NIV Application Bible here https://tinyurl.com/HOJNIVAppBible and use code HOJ at checkout for an additional 10% off!!  Visit https://tinyurl.com/RONOmahaSteaks for 50% off sitewide during their Sizzle All the Way Sale. 342. The 4-Part Framework That Turns Every Season Into Wisdom, Gratitude, and Purpose!

I’m taking you behind the scenes of one of my absolute favorite yearly rituals—how I plan my year in a way that feels meaningful, beautiful, and actually doable. This is Part 1 of a four-part framework I’m teaching my clients this month called “Plan Your Most Magical Year Yet.” Today we’re starting where I always start: by looking back at the year you just lived with love instead of criticism. I’ll walk you through how I reviewed my own year—personally, in my relationships, in my rhythms, and in my work—using a simple four-quadrant framework you can copy. You’ll hear how I use my camera roll, a circle divided into four sections, and a lot of gratitude to remember what actually worked this year, what surprised me, and where God met me in ways I didn’t expect. Before we rush into resolutions and goals, this step grounds you in celebration and honor for the woman you’ve already been. The 4-part framework I use to plan my best year yet How to review your year using your camera roll Why we start with celebration, not self-criticism The 4 quadrants I use to review my year: Real-life examples from my own 2025 review Why focusing on celebration doesn’t deny the hard parts I’m teaching the full “Plan Your Most Magical Year Yet” class live on December 18th (all 4 steps of the framework, with prompts, worksheets, and a full workbook). 340. What If This Isn’t a Problem? The Reframe That Changes Everything

I hope your Thanksgiving week was full of warmth, good food, a little rest, and maybe even a knitting project or two. We had a house full over here — the best kind of beautiful chaos — and somewhere between the leftovers, the blankets, and the allergy fog, I found myself thinking about a pattern I see in myself and in so many women I coach: Our brains love to find problems. Before the coffee is even half gone — boom, three things labeled “wrong.” Today’s episode introduces a reframe that has truly changed my life and the lives of my clients: It sounds simple, but this one question disrupts the entire “problem spiral” our brains default to. When your mind goes into survival mode, scanning for danger, disappointment, or the next thing that might go sideways, your body follows — tension, shallow breathing, cortisol, overwhelm. But when you pause, even for a moment, and ask: “How is this not a problem?” …everything shifts. In this episode, we talk about: Your body instantly braces — your creativity, clarity, and wisdom shut down. It’s not your fault — it’s biology. But you can retrain it. It switches your prefrontal cortex (your wise adult self!) back on. You’re not pretending. You’re interrupting unnecessary suffering. “I feel overwhelmed — and that’s not a problem. I’m a human having a human emotion.” If your brain offers you a catastrophe? You offer it curiosity instead. This is the practice I return to again and again — in motherhood, marriage, business, and daily life. It’s how I see miracles more than I see messes. It’s how I enjoy my life instead of endlessly bracing for the next thing. And I want that for you, too. I can’t wait to hear what shifts for you. I love you so much — I’m cheering for you. Have a beautiful, grounded, grace-filled week. 💛 What if this isn’t a problem?✨ What actually happens in your nervous system when you label something a “problem”✨ Why your brain is addicted to finding problems (especially in midlife)✨ How this one question reopens access to peace, intuition, and groundedness✨ Why reframing isn’t gaslighting✨ Real emotional adulthood✨ How to use this question for the next 24 hours Learn more about your ad choices. 339. Creating From Wonder: The Secret to a Beautiful Life

In today’s episode, I’m cozied up in my office, cranberry sauce simmering, pie crusts chilling — and my heart is full. I’m sharing how I’ve been living in this creative flow lately and what it really means to create from wonder instead of pressure, perfectionism, or performance. How to notice the miracle of just being alive today Why the state of your heart while you create matters more than the finished product Turning holiday tasks into holy invitations to presence Letting old rooms (and old seasons) be resurrected into new callings Creating space for joy, beauty, memories, and connection this Thanksgiving I’m so deeply grateful for you — for every listen, every share, every kind word. 338. Chasing Beauty in Advent: A Conversation with Timothy Willard on Hope and Returning to Joy

Today is a treat. I’m joined by writer and thinker Timothy Willard (author of The Beauty Chasers) for a rich, cozy conversation on Advent, beauty, and why this season invites us to return—to God, to our homes, to one another, and to the truest parts of ourselves. We talk about: What Advent is (and isn’t): a church rhythm that helps us not lose the story—the comings of Christ and the light that enters our darkness. “Homeliness” & the ordinary: how God hides Himself in small, everyday things—tables, gardens, candles, waffles, and walks under winter stars. Beauty as an awakening: beauty “arrests” us and lifts our gaze beyond the doom-scroll toward wonder, joy, and presence. Hope as structure (not sentiment): how Christian hope shapes the horizon of our days and gives direction to how we live, love, and serve. Wintering with intention: slowing down, walking in the cold, paying attention, creating space for awareness in a frantic season. Lewis threads: how C.S. Lewis (and friends like Arthur Greeves) inform Tim’s imagination—think The Great Divorce, That Hideous Strength, and The Weight of Glory. An invitation, not just a devotional: Tim’s new Advent email journey offers short reflections, prayers, and simple practices (with some audio readings!) to help you breathe, notice, and chase beauty all season long. 337. 4 Ways to Give Your Life (& Business) an Energetic Uplevel!

The actual House of Joy is in the messy middle — room swaps, wallpaper on backorder, dust bunnies, the works. 😂 What started as Tommy’s 13th-birthday room move turned into a full-on home refresh… and a powerful reminder: your spaces carry energy. The rooms you live, work, and create in are quietly shaping your identity and your next level. Today I’m sharing how to uplevel the energetics of your life (and business) — not by trying harder, but by shifting your environment: your home, your relationships, your work, and your inner world. If you feel stuck, stale, or compressed, this episode is your permission slip to clear a corner, move the furniture, and create space for who you’re becoming. We’ll talk about: Why environment is the silent architect of your identity How to know if a space is expanding you or shrinking you The “four rooms” to assess (home, relationships, work/calling, inner life) Simple, immediate ways to shift the energy — from a junk-drawer cleanout to an honest conversation to a 10-minute journaling reset Planning for 2026 with intention (yes, my giant wall calendars are out!) The power of saying yes to the change you’ve been resisting Home: If your true self lived here, what would this room feel like? What one corner can you clear today? Relationships: What’s the current energy — light and connected, or heavy and resentful? What one action would shift it? Work/Calling: If it were a building, would you want to hang out there? What would make it more creative and joyful? Inner World: What’s the tone of your inner room — cluttered or sacred? What belief or habit needs redecorating with grace? 💛 Come get in a “room” that uplevels you:  Life Mentoring School: ediewadsworthcoaching.com/join  Four Reflection QuestionsCoach Certification: ediewadsworthcoaching.com/certification Learn more about your ad choices. Emmy joins me for a heart-to-heart conversation on: ✨ What it really means to “get back on track” — without hustle or pressure ✨ How to reconnect with yourself and your purpose after a busy season ✨ The power of setting identity-based goals instead of “should” goals ✨ How to tell yourself the truth — with grace instead of shame ✨ Practical ways to live awake, present, and intentional for the rest of the year We talk about what it looks like to design your life 90 days at a time — not as a rigid plan, but as a rhythm that helps you stay aligned with your true self and God’s best for you.
