How long could you go without a shower? A week? Three months? For thousands of people experiencing homelessness and hygiene insecurity across Oklahoma, it's not a hypothetical - it's everyday life. And the impact goes far deeper than physical hygiene. What he found there changed the course of his life.Be Heard started with a camera and Evan’s desire to tell the stories of Tulsa’s homeless youth. It has become a story of empathetic ingenuity at its finest.Be Heard brings shower and laundry trailers, a clothing trailer and more directly to those who need it.In this conversation, you'll hear:• Why hygiene access is a human dignity issue • How Be Heard serves those experiencing homelessness and hygiene insecurity• The partnership model that brings together churches, city government, and businesses• The world's first virtual volunteer vending machine • What it looks like to truly see and honor your neighbor This episode will challenge the way you think about homelessness, hygiene, and what it means to be a good neighbor.ABOUT BE HEARDBe Heard is a mobile outreach nonprofit based in Tulsa and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, providing hygiene access, clothing, haircuts, and community connection to people experiencing homelessness and hygiene insecurity.
