  1. 44

    I'm a Conservative-Iggy Pop

Heres one for Super Duper Tuesday ..Iggy at his Ironic Best ..great lyrics great delivery ..Hoping Barack does very well tonight

  2. 43

    Miles from Nowhere-The Only Ones

From the second l.p "Even Serpents Shine" The Only Ones are up there with "The Kinks" as far as making perfectsounding guitar driven pop songs and the nice thing is they've reformed and should have a new record of originals out by the end of the year

  3. 42

    Monkey on your Back-Crime

First punk band to press there own single in 1976"Hot wire my Heart" San Franciscos Crime would appear on stage dressed as cops .prisoners and gangsters and like Johnny Cash played San Quinten(but dressed as L.A cops.now.that takes some guts lol)

  4. 41

    65 Bars-103rd Street Watts Band

Had to dig this one out i seem to listen to this about this time of year for some mad reason ..:)

  5. 40

Prancin' Ike Turner and his Kings of Rhythm

Ike passed away today , thought I'd better upload a track by him..killer guitar

  6. 39

    On Tour-The Chancellors

If I ever made a film about Vietnam War, I'd put this Garage Punk ripper on the soundtrack . ..I think it would work ..

  7. 38

    I Fall-The Damned

My fave Damned tune...(without doubt they'd been listening to Funhouse by the Stooges same way I did in 1990) In my mind everyone should sound like this :)

  8. 37

We Don't Need The English-The Bags

Really cool punk from Los Angeles, early gigs were performed with paper bags over heads , Heres Alice Bags site http://www.alicebag.com where this MP3 originates from as well as a version of White Rabbit as its meant to be performed.Bass player Pat went onto to Sisters of Mercy(not a fan but she looked great) and The Damned(who I am a fan of ..who isn't?)

  9. 36

    Climbing Through-The Authentics(with Jimmy Page)

I'm guessing this is The Yardbirds under another monicker ..the guy singing sounds like a frantic Keith Relf ..(apparently Jimmy Page was asked to join Yardbirds straight after Clapton left but was ill ..so he suggested his mate Jeff Beck I figure this may come from a session from that period..but then again I could be wrong) any way this sounds like a decent Rave Up!

  10. 35

    Thirteen Women-The Renegades

First time I heard this was back in 1989 or 90 on a local radio show called "Turn it Up" on Radio Sussex, a really good show which would be aired on Sundays (first time I heard the Mummies, Vibrasonic and plenty of other cool stuff was on that show)of course like all good things it came to an end in 1993 replaced by dull stuff such as cricket and local news about one legged terrapin owners .. Originally I thought this was an American Record when I first heard it has all the hallmarks of a Garage Killer ,("Last Night I was Dreaming.. I dreamt about the H-Bomb.."great lyrics :D )but actually it originates from Finland (4 English Guys who traveled over there to seek there fortune)

  11. 34

    Lucy Leave-The Pink Floyd

Early Syd , in fact I think this the coolest sounding Floyd song ever (then again I hate Pink Floyd ..well up to a point)

  12. 33

    The Third Degree-Marc Bolan

One Of Marcs First recordings ..what a dude :) I remember Marc's TV show too before the Car Crash he helped Punks along big respect

  13. 32

    Better Days-Thor's Hammer

Its my birthday (I'm 12783 days old) so i thought I'd upload 3 obscure freakbeaty songs to celebrate in true Johnnyboy fashion lol all three will be goodies :)

  14. 31
  15. 30

    Sand-Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood

Watched The Wild Angels other night , Nancy plays Peter Fondas ol' lady (who happens to be called Mike for some bizzare reason lol ..) good film , I like to think that Heavenly Blues became Captain America inbetween the time Easy Rider was made..anyhow saddened to hear Lee died recently ,this is for him .

  16. 29

I'm Not Good Enough for You-The Strollers

Sweden produces some amazing Garage rock music in recent years here's just one example. This tune captures The Strollers in a more reflective mood .

  19. 26

    Patch of Grass-The Purple Fox

Originally this was titled "Steve Say's"on an L.P entitled Tamla Hits by Dianne and the New Worlds, I guess it had some shit hot studio muscians at these sessions , I remember walking into a club in London with this blaring out of the speakers everything turned into slow motion like a movie .. its moments like these I live for lol..If my comics ever make it big and I need a soundtrack for the movie this will go on it for sure :) This version came a little later as part of a tribute to Jimi Hendrix with added vocals .. anyway its smokin i'm sure you'll agree

  20. 25

    Jump Jive and Harmonize-Thee Midniters

  35. 10

    12XU-Minor Threat

Something I used i would listen to at secondary school back in the day (1980s) (alongside some very dodgy thrash metal lol) but this was the real deal

  36. 9

Love in a Different Vein -(John Peel Session)Thee Hypnotics

By the time I was 15 I must of heard many Peel sessions but the one which this tunes from is among my all time faves back in 89 .. just fantastic blasting out of my radio as far as I remember they performed also Preaching and Ramblin', Shake It Nine Times and Soul Trader (although I may be wrong it was 1989 after all)
