This is the initial draft I came up with for this remix. After working on this for a few days I was so unhappy with how this arrangement turned out I completely deleted it and started all over. I wanted it to sound much less like dance and more emotional and I ended up feeling much better about my second arrangement. Though, as you can hear, some of the sounds did make it to the final version. Arguably this demo version is more listenable than the final version but easy-listening was never my goal for this remix. This remix has made it a long way as I started this in 2016, although at the end of 2016. Obviously I love the original Where We Began by Christina Novelli, but I felt like the instrumental wasn't as strong as the singing. I always wanted to make a classic progressive trance song. As such the intention of this remix was to make a progressive orchestral trance song out of it, and I did that to some degree. The structure of the song is more of a mashup of Trance/EDM with an orchestral break. I guess it turns out to be special in it's own way. So I started this in 2016/2017, worked on it mostly 2 periods in 2017 a little bit in 2018 and then just left it laying around being basically finished except for some mixing, I think. Then at the beginning of 2020 I decided to 'finish it up', which ended up taking almost 3 months (as I improved a lot). Around that time I actually kind of burned out from college and had to stop everything. I'm still not fully recovered from that but wanted to get this out in 2020 so the last day of 2020 I did some final touches mostly on the vocals and called it done. Now here we are. I'm really happy with how this turned out and as much fun as it was to work with my past self on a project, I hope this release helps me put my focus on new music. I've got some (relatively) new music in progress that I plan to release on my new alias https://soundcloud.com/impfi but there's no way to say how soon that will be, as I am still dealing with college and recovering. Let's see where it goes from here. It'll probably be a while.

Aika was the first recent song of yours on which I saw you shared the FLP so I just got into it right away and I must say it was super fun working with! My intention for this remix was to show a bit of how much you mean to me, but it doesn't sound very personal/meaningful in my opinion. It is just how it came out along the way of working. I had no idea what it would become really. I spent quite some time on this and I'm spending way to much time perfectionating this description as I remember you saying in a stream not to perfectionate. I agree. This song came up without any plan. I started it somewhat halfway through my first college year. Once again this started off with just practicing and as I kept going this is as it turned out. I even called the project file "Yet Another Trance Project". But yeah enough about that. As of the song, I think some sounds are pretty nice. I could surely use some more mastering lessons. The mixing is ok I guess, still improving as I do it. Every song should get a little bit more professional.
