Surrey Day - Surrey Minority Ethnic Forum
RADIO WOKING SUNDAY 10TH MAY Surrey Minority Ethnic Forum (SMEF) supports and represents the needs and aspirations of a growing 23.4% ethnic minority population in Surrey. They provide support for over 60 grassroot community groups, build relationships between faith groups, and run projects to help ethnic minority groups across the county. As part of Surrey Day 2026 SMEF held an event in Woking bringing the community and the organisations together to celebrate culture and diversity in Surrey. Woking Community Grocery - Bridging the Gap between Foodbanks and Supermarkets.
RADIO WOKING SUNDAY 03 MAY I spoke to Dub Everitt from Welcome Church in Woking. They have worked with the Message Trust to open a community Grocery project on the church campus in central Woking. Dub told me how the membership system works and how food is available for to those who need it for less than supermarkets. This not only helps families put food on their tables and empowering themselves through a wrap around support package of support and courses. The Great British Sleep Crisis

There is a sleep crisis in the UK with the average Brit getting just 6.4 hours of sleep per night, despite needing 7.5 hours. Annie Segal -Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome
RADIO WOKING SUNDAY 19TH APRIL Annie Segal from Bookham reached out to us at Radio Woking as she wanted to raise awareness of her rare condition called Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome - a condition that she got diagnosed when she was 3 years old. Annie spoke to Luke and I and told us about living with RTS and how it impacts her life. We also spoke about living with learning disability and how she is currently working at a hotel who have made reasonable adjustments for her in her role.
