RADIO WOKING  SUNDAY 10TH MAY Surrey Minority Ethnic Forum (SMEF) supports and represents the needs and aspirations of a growing 23.4% ethnic minority population in Surrey.  They  provide support for over 60 grassroot community groups, build relationships between faith groups, and run projects to help ethnic minority groups across the county.  As part of Surrey Day 2026 SMEF held an event in Woking bringing the community and the organisations together to celebrate culture and diversity in Surrey. RADIO WOKING  SUNDAY 03 MAY I spoke to Dub Everitt from Welcome  Church in Woking. They have worked with the Message Trust to open a community Grocery project on the church campus in central Woking. Dub told me how the membership system works and how food is available for to those who need it for less than supermarkets. RADIO WOKING SUNDAY 03 MAY Stephen Ashley is the head chef at Nostrano Lounge in Staines. He told how important the local community is to Nostrano Lounge and other Lounges across the country. Anthony was about to complete his third marathon in 15 days, supporting VICTAR a charity working with young people with visual impairment. RADIO WOKING WEDNESDAY 22ND APRIL If you are struggling with sleep it seems you are not alone. There is a sleep crisis in the UK with the average Brit getting  just 6.4 hours of sleep per night, despite needing 7.5 hours. For those with diagnosed health conditions, 18% say lack of sleep causes symptoms to worsen and 21% fall ill more easily44% of patients with a diagnosed condition who have used medical cannabis report a clinically significant improvement in sleep To discuss this further I spoke to Dr Simon Erridge, Director of Research at Curaleaf Clinic

  RADIO WOKING  SUNDAY 19TH APRIL Annie Segal from Bookham reached out to us at Radio Woking as she wanted to raise awareness of  her  rare condition called Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome  - a  condition that she  got diagnosed when she was 3 years old. Annie spoke to Luke and I and  told us about living with RTS and how it impacts her life. We also spoke about living with learning disability and how she is currently working at a hotel who have made reasonable adjustments for her in her role.
