Journey by Joel Jackson

Hey, I'm Joel Jackson. I'm an avid adventurer and an award winning storyteller, sharing with you a monthly family friendly short story that I've written while on the road accompanied by weekly personal excerpts from my journal series that I've titled 'A Page A Day' . The short stories are gentle fictional journeys, an antidote to anxiety and an imaginative, playful chance to indulge your escapism on your morning walks, daily commute or as you tuck into bed. While the 'Page A Day' series aim to inspire, motivate and fuel your everyday personal ambitions with stories and allegories lifted directly from my personal journal routine of writing a 'Page A Day' to fuel my own growth, healing and discovery. I can't wait to share these journeys with you, as together we explore forays in fictional Spanish towns, heroic deep sea fishing adventures and stories to salve the balms of loss and heartbreak, there truly is something for everyone and I hope to inspire you as

We're never alone and we're never as separated as we feel or may think we are. You will get through this. A Page A Day, The Joy of Consequence

The Joy of Consequence, after watching my sister, her husband and their kids for the past few days it was fascinating to look at how they shared consequence and reward with their children. The idea of delayed gratification and achieving a set goal is something I'm continuously fascinated with because all too often in my industry the goal posts are continuously being shifted and increasingly hard to aim for. But if we can set ourselves a goal with a reward that is fathomable and a consequence that is unendurable we can start to see the path towards achievement as being paved by the joy of consequence. Listen in to the episode for more, hope you enjoy. A Page A Day, "The 1%ers"

A reflection on my experience watching the live musicians bring to life the score of the smash hit Max Martin musical, "&Juliet". It was utterly mind blowing and their teamwork, dedication, attention to detail and effort was astounding. It inspired me for my efforts moving forward while on tour for Black Swan State Theatre Company performing Barracking for the Umpire around Western Australia and I hope there is something that inspires you too. A Page A Day, "The Seeker"

An excerpt from my journal, April 5 2023. From a time when I was being exceptionally clear about what I wanted for myself in my future because the present was a little murky. No doubt we've all questioned the direction of our travel, the course that we choose and at this time last year I was doing just that. I'm so glad though in 2024, I chose to use an excerpt from my diary from almost exactly a year ago to reflect on how far I've come. I hope this weeks episode is an invitation for your own self reflection or maybe even to start jotting down some notes about where you want to be. The clearer the vision, the straighter the aim, the smaller the target, the better the strike. Stay the course and enjoy the tidings. A Page A Day, "Procrastination is the Assassination of all Destination"

An excerpt from my journal, March 11th 2024. We all inhibit our own growth, potential and excellence in some way shape or form. We inhibit the potential to connect on a wonderfully deep and empathetic level with those around us because of the nature of modern intrusions. Why not step back, assess what it is that stops us from fully engaging with tasks, fellow humans and our goals and be done with it? With this episode, I investigate my own procrastination cycles and also how I label it to better engage with the act of removing it effectively. A Page A Day, "Lust for Lack"

An excerpt from my journal, March 6th 2024The self pity party that is conjured up when indulging the sensation of lack is woeful, it swallows me whole sometimes. But in recognising this pattern and the minds' traps, I've made some notes about how best to acknowledge it, act upon it and finally look past it.Hope the insight and the offerings helps you on your own quest and discoveries.Sending my best and be sure to like, subscribe or rate and review, wherever and however you're listening to the podcast.Follow along at @JoelJacksonOfficial on instagram for more insights and updates. A Page A Day, "Fast is Fine, Accuracy is Final"

An excerpt from my Journal, March 1st 2024. Taken from the pages of Jack Carr's book, following the adventures of an ex Navy Seal the words 'fast is fine, accuracy is final' haunts my moves. In such a wonderful way, might I say. Do it right the first time, but also be incredibly clear about the path you choose. Find your target, assert the path and dominate the course of action. Fast is fine, but your targeted accuracy of action and intention will make all the difference. A Page A Day, "The Chaos of Change"

An excerpt from my journal on February 20th. A reflection on how chaos is calming, natural and absolutely necessary. A hopeful way to appreciate change when you're experiencing flux, knowing that it is exactly what we were created to do. As all things about us change and develop and grow. A thrillingly natural sensation and gift. Enjoy the change. Thank you, as always, for listening and sharing in the community. A Page A Day, "The Mind As A Sky"

Here's a little allegory to sweep you into the week ahead or to help you capture the week that was. It's about viewing the mind as you would a tumultuous sky. Letting thoughts run their course, tiring themselves out as they traipse across the sky, disengaged and totally focused on the task at hand. You can preserver through storms, listen to the podcast to find out who else makes very good use of persevering through severe storms and weather systems. SPOILER - bonus material at the end of the episode to celebrate that most commercialised holiday; 'Valentine's Day', I'm a romantic at heart so I couldn't help it. Send it to someone you love or hold it to your heart as you wait to find the one. As always, make sure you rate, review or like, subscribe or FOLLOW wherever and however you're listening to the podcast. Leave something behind so that this podcast can continue to grow and expand. A Page A Day, "Resonance - Find Your Frequency"

An excerpt from my journal, 9th February 2024. I've always been curious about the science of manifestation and the power of resonating with your ambition, dream and actions; maybe my words can't capture my own imaginings and thoughts in this episode - but I tried in my journal on the 9th to speak some kind of truth into it. Thank you again for listening and congrats on being a part of the 1,200 downloads thus far - I'm beyond humbled. A Page A Day, "Nothing Good Comes from Plan B"

An excerpt from my diary, January 4th 2024. Inspired by conversations with friends regarding our own intentions of being the best we can be, but also wanting the best from those around us and those we chose to surround ourselves with. This page from my journal was spurred on by the title of a chapter in Arnold's book Be Useful, a read I'd highly recommend.
