Dr. Walton shares how his upbringing fueled his creative drive, leading to innovations used by icons like Elton John and Frank Sinatra. The conversation explores the importance of creativity, how modern life often stifles our natural curiosity, and the value of emotional resilience. Dr. Walton unpacks how rewiring neural pathways and embracing creative thinking can help individuals banish burnout and restore well-being. He also discusses his journey from business success to designing a unique home in Portugal, emphasizing the importance of staying true to one's passions. The episode closes with inspiration for listeners to pursue their own creative paths and a motivating quote from JFK: "Conformity is the jailer of freedom and the enemy of growth." Get To Know André Walton Dr. André Walton is a successful entrepreneur having taken two of his inventions to become global leaders in their field. He is also a social psychologist and life and business coach with a PhD focused on organizational creativity. He has spent over two decades researching how individuals and communities can harness creativity and resilience to overcome burnout and lead to positive change through creating environments conducive to creative thinking. Andre is a TEDx Speaker, International Best-Selling author (of Creative Thinking: A coach's perspective) and televised speaker with extensive multicultural experience, having lived and worked in 7 different countries. André's concept of Spherical Thinking™ relates to the imbalance between the creative thinking that we all had as young children and the more analytical cognitive style that we developed as adults (explained in greater detail in his TEDx talk). This imbalance exacerbates conditions such as anxiety and burnout, for which creative thinking provides a swift resolution. By reframing stress as a catalyst for growth by rewiring neural pathways also increases resilience, emotional intelligence and happiness! Another of Andre's contributions to this field is the Group Affiliation Model of Creativity which focuses on the conflict between being creative and our innate desire for group membership. It explains why brainstorming doesn't work and why team building is not aligned with the goal of innovation. As Visiting Professor of Creativity and Entrepreneurship at Newport Business School, he created executive programs and workshops for leading organizations including The Smithsonian, Virgin Group, Lloyds Bank, and the Welsh Government. His unconventional journey includes building concrete boats in Greece, teaching scuba diving, and developing a boutique resort and Michelin-star-nominated restaurant in Portugal. Through keynotes, workshops, podcasts and mentoring, Dr. Andre empowers audiences to embrace creative thinking, guard against burnout, and cultivate environments that foster both innovation and emotional resilience. 2. The Importance of Adapting Your Hustle: Both André Walton and Aaron Gordon discuss how true success means being willing to pivot—even when you're "at the top." André Walton's choice to leave thriving businesses to pursue new creative projects demonstrates the importance of defining (and redefining) your hustle to stay true to your passions, rather than simply following financial or societal expectations.
 3. Building Emotional Resilience Through Creative Thinking: André Walton introduces listeners to the concept of rewiring neural pathways by balancing analytical and creative thinking. He explains that emotional resilience—our ability to handle stress, burnout, and anxiety—can be strengthened by intentionally stepping back from problems, looking at them creatively, and thus restoring well-being. Hustle And The We Mentality with Karl Jacobi

On this episode of Keep Hustling, host Aaron Gordon sits down with veteran and entrepreneur Karl Jacobi to explore the transformative power of discipline, resilience, and brotherhood. Karl shares his journey from troubled youth to military service, revealing how seeking structure and an escape led to lifelong lessons in grit, teamwork, and leadership. He discusses overcoming betrayal and setbacks in business, the importance of confidence rooted in keeping promises to oneself, and how military values shape his coaching and relationships today. Karl closes with inspiration on leading with discipline and heart, offering motivation for anyone hustling through life's toughest moments. Get To Know Karl Jacobi Karl is a high-performance coach with a mission that goes far beyond personal development—he's here to help men rise from the ashes of self-doubt, rewrite their stories, and create lives of purpose, fulfillment, and lasting impact. Through his journey of resilience and transformation, Karl inspires men to break free from the chains of their past, step into their potential, and lead with unshakable confidence. Karl's story is not one of easy success but of battles fought and won against incredible odds. Growing up in a broken home after his parents divorced when he was just five years old, Karl endured years of instability, constantly relocating between California, North Carolina, Florida, and Georgia. These early challenges planted seeds of self-doubt that followed him into adulthood, shaping a narrative of unworthiness and limiting beliefs that held him back for decades. At 19, seeking structure and direction, Karl joined the U.S. Army, where he served for eight years with multiple deployments to combat zones. The military instilled in him the discipline and  resilience that would later become cornerstones of his coaching philosophy. After transitioning to civilian life as a defense contractor, Karl's entrepreneurial spirit emerged. His business journey began in 1999 with an e-commerce side hustle that eventually grew into multiple ventures. Despite facing a major setback during the 2008 recession that forced him back to military-related work, Karl persevered. By 2014, he had built a thriving Amazon retail operation that expanded to include content creation, speaking engagements, coaching, SaaS development, and 3PL logistics. The true test of Karl's resilience came when business partnerships turned sour. After relocating his family to Florida for a promising new venture, Karl discovered his partner had misappropriated nearly $400,000, triggering lawsuits and threatening everything he had built. Through this devastating period of betrayal and financial strain, Karl was pushed to his breaking point—sleepless nights, constant battles with self-doubt, and the weight of providing for his family with seemingly no way forward. Yet, in the midst of these challenges, Karl discovered something extraordinary: the power to rebuild wasn't found in strategies or systems alone but in his ability to confront his deepest fears, reframe his limiting beliefs, and tap into a purpose greater than himself. By 2024, Karl had successfully exited his last e-commerce business—which had generated over $40 million in sales starting from his dining room table—marking not just a financial victory but the beginning of a new mission. After experiencing firsthand how various betrayals had dimmed his entrepreneurial passion, Karl made a pivotal decision to channel his energy into helping others as a performance coach. In 2025, he rededicated himself to his faith, which became the foundation for Alpha Evolution Coaching—a practice dedicated to helping men, particularly fathers and entrepreneurs, overcome their limiting beliefs and ultimately become UNSTOPPABLE. Today, Karl is a dynamic and passionate coach who brings a unique blend of raw honesty, deep empathy, and battle-tested strategies to his work. His programs are not surface-level fixes; they are transformative journeys that go straight to the heart of what holds men back. Whether it's childhood trauma, financial hardships, or the silent battle against burnout, Karl helps men confront their pain, rediscover their purpose, and rise stronger than ever. Karl's coaching focuses on clarity, discipline, and legacy. He empowers men to lead with purpose, build meaningful relationships, and create lives that inspire not just their families but their communities. His message is clear: it's never too late to rewrite your story, rise above your circumstances, and become the man you were always meant to be. For those who feel stuck, lost, or held back by their past, Karl's story is a powerful reminder that even the darkest times can forge the brightest futures. Through his transformative coaching and unwavering belief in the power of resilience, Karl invites men everywhere to break free, rise up, and build a legacy that echoes for generations.   3 Episode Key Takeaways 1. Transform Struggle into Opportunity: Karl Jacobi's journey from a troubled youth to a successful veteran, business owner, and coach underscores how adversity can be a powerful catalyst for growth. By viewing joining the military as both an escape and a springboard, Karl demonstrates that the paths we take out of desperation can ultimately open doors to purpose, discipline, and lifelong skills.
 2. The Power of Brotherhood and the "We" Mentality: One of the most lasting lessons Karl shares is the importance of teamwork and collective responsibility learned in the military. He illustrates how shifting from a "me" mindset to a "we" mindset—where your own success is intertwined with the well-being of others—not only builds stronger communities but is also essential in business and personal relationships.
 3. Confidence Comes from Kept Promises: Karl reveals that true confidence isn't about outward bravado or surface-level success. Instead, it's built on the quiet consistency of keeping promises to yourself. Whether it's hitting the gym or following through on personal commitments, sustained self-discipline lays the foundation for real confidence, enabling you to overcome setbacks and inspire those around you to keep hustling.

Legendary NYC Hustle with Bob Knakal

In this episode, host Aaron Gordon sits down with legendary New York City real estate broker Bob Knakal to explore the mindset and work ethic that have driven his decades-long success. Bob shares the unexpected start of his career, the importance of discipline, and how he overcame early naysayers, including his own father. The conversation explores how technology has transformed the real estate industry, the enduring value of relationships and grit, and why persistence, or 'pounding the rock,' is key to achieving breakthrough moments. Bob also discusses his new book, "Selling Buildings," and leaves listeners with motivational wisdom to maximize both their careers and lives. This is a must-listen for anyone looking to define their hustle and achieve lasting success. Get To Know Bob Knakal Bob Knakal has been a broker in NYC since 1984. Over that time, he has brokered the sale of over 2,349 buildings, having a market value of approximately $22 billion. For 26 years (1988-2014), he owned and ran Massey Knakal Realty Services, which sold more than three times the number of properties as the #2 firm in NYC from 2001 to 2014. Running the firm with a Servant Leadership management style, focusing on empowering everyone on the team, intensely training them, and building their self-esteem led to this overwhelmingly dominant platform. The firm was sold to Cushman & Wakefield in 2014 for $100 million. The Massey Knakal Legacy is illustrated by the fact that today in the New York City investment sales market, there are 29 companies, or divisions of companies, that are either owned by, or run by, folks who learned the business at Massey Knakal. Bob is a prominent thought leader in the commercial real estate business, frequently writing about the market, lecturing on the market and appearing on podcasts and national television shows on networks like Fox, CNBC and MSNBC. Recently, Bob started BKREA, an investment sales and capital markets brokerage firm in New York City which will blend best-in-class analog data sets with artificial intelligence technologies to create a new brokerage firm for a new era. Discipline Drives Success: Bob Knakal emphasizes the fundamental importance of discipline and persistence in achieving long-term goals, particularly in sales and entrepreneurship. His analogy of "pounding the rock" reminds listeners that consistent, unglamorous effort is often what leads to breakthrough moments - success doesn't happen overnight but is earned blow by blow. 2. Adapt and Leverage Technology: The episode addresses the significant changes technology has brought to business, particularly in commercial real estate. Bob emphasizes that while the fundamentals of the business remain the same, embracing new tools and adapting to the evolving landscape is essential to stay productive and competitive. Technological advances have made individuals more efficient, and those willing to evolve can seize greater opportunities, even outside of large firms. 3. Define Your Own Hustle: Both Aaron and Bob stress that true meritocracy is found when individuals define their own version of success and hustle towards it—whether that's building a business, pursuing sales, or another passion. The episode encourages listeners to identify their unique goals, ignore naysayers, and recognize that meaningful achievement comes from following one's own aspirations, not societal expectations.
