Kparx

Ken Parker began his career as a guitarist and a performer in many different styles and settings, from classical ensembles, to heavy metal and bluegrass bands as he has nearly done it all! Somewhat of a drifter this artist has flowed from one genre to the next in order to better understand the finer points of music from around the world. After getting his Master's degree in music he helped form the southern California based band 'unit E' and they can be seen performing at many venues in the area. (see www.reverbnation.com/uniteee for more details) Now, as a composer, Kparx as he is affectionately referred to, seemlessly blends a myriad of styles together as though they were meant to be there from the beginning. His ecclectic style is not without charm, and leads the listener from one track to the next with a constantly evolving and engaging variety

  1. 8

    One Step Forward

A reggae fusion track that moves into ethereal soundscapes. The song is about the plight of humans during the history of our time on this planet and the drive to liberate ourselves from it.

  2. 7

    Lets Give Love A Try

R&B flavor with lush vocal harmonies. This song is about how our world is that of duality; darkness and light, good and bad, fear and love, etc. Asking the listener to look within to take responsibility for his/her own choices in the hope of overcoming our differences.

  3. 6

We Need a Revolution (Of Love) (demo)

A mellow acoustic coffee house style song with a profound message but dressed up in casual clothing.

  4. 5

    Escape scene

The victim awaits the perfect moment to escape and breaks for it. She thinks she is doing well until she runs into her assailant who was waiting for her all along.

  5. 4

    For you

    Here's a love song/piano ballad.

  6. 3

    04 City at Night

A deep cut with electronic rhythms and jazzy guitar work. Very moody, stimulating the imagination.

  7. 2

    Persian theme music

This track sounds like it could be 'theme music' for some kind of mid east based film. I composed this when I was in this movie scoring phase after I had done some music for a couple of Indy films. The intention is for this music to serve as a kind of overture, where the thematic material gets treated in several different ways. This suggests the trials and successes of a film's main character possibly, or simply could address the flow of the story.

  8. 1

04 A Part Of Me. . .A Part Of You

This is one of my earliest recordings. My equipment was crude but the track has a charm that I still enjoy.
