The LAHOOPSTORY show is about getting to know of some of LA's best underground players and trainers. We have a strong sports culture here, and we have so much talent in basketball, and a lot of good players go unnoticed.     The Josh Wilson Story

    Josh WIlson is a hooper from the Westside of Los Angeles. Growing up around a lot of talented hoopers, he eventually found himself at the powerhouse Westchester high. After going through some ups and downs including sitting on the bench some, he finally broke out right before his senior season leading to many scholarship offers. His senior season went well, but unfortunately he didn't end up at a D-1 although he was offered by many. He ended up going to junior college and having a great career, but ultimately D-1 still avoided him although he had many offers again. He ended up at a NAIA, eventually becoming an All American. This lead him to playing overseas, where he played in a few countries, making a real impact. Hear his entire story here, hopefully you enjoy! IG:thej_wils

    The Aubrey Mcalpine Story

    Aubrey Mcalpine is a basketball player from Los Angeles. He eventually ended up a great overseas player, playing in the country of Georgia among other places. He talks about his journey all the way from a kid, starting out as a very shy person on the court. He eventually blossomed in high school and college becoming a real standout. Unfortunately, injuries were something he dealt with many times, and he went into detail the mindset behind coming back from devastating injuries. He is probably the only person ever two deal with 2 separate ACL surgeries and 2 Achilles surgeries.  Overall, his story is one of never giving up.     Jay Performance Story

    Jay is a trainer from the LA area that helps clients lose weight and helps athletes get more explosive. His journey is so interesting, from not playing high school or college to now training many high school and college players and even some NBA players. It was a long way to the top for him as he had a lot of things he went through, he didnt have to chance to participate in sports as he had to grow up faster than a lot of people.     Donley Minor Story

    Donley Minor is the head varsity coach at Verbum Dei High School in Watts California. He has had a long journey to where he is now. First starting as a standout in his younger days eventually making it to a D-1 college, Lamar University. Playing with future pros, he saw great success in college, eventually playing in the NCAA tournament. Now he is taking on a different challenge, building a high school program from the ground up.     Ash Edwards Story

    Ash Edwards is a hooper from the LA area who is very underrated. After coming to the game kind of late he began playing in middle school, eventually ended up at one of the top basketball schools in LA, Fairfax. After getting better in high school but not fully getting the recognition he deserved, he eventually ended up at LBCC, becoming a local legend, putting up crazy numbers. He now gives back to the game by doing highlight takes on social media, showing different moves from players. Please enjoy his story.

    Chris Spencer Story @LBSpence

    Chris Spencer is a basketball player from Long Beach that has overcame many personal hurdles to become the man that he is today. From sitting on the bench his freshman year, to being on the brink of a D-1 scholarship, His journey is such an interesting one.     Former Defensive Player of the Year in the Drew League Keith Smith Joins the Podcast!

    Keith Smith is a hooper from Compton, CA. A mainstay at the World Famous Drew League, he details his life story from us going back all the way to a young kid. He talks about growing up in the Compton area and when he started to play basketball at the age of 9. Next he gives us insight into both his high school and college experiences, going from a decent player to a great player. He eventually evolved into one of the best guards in the LA basketball pro-am scene, Winning DPOY in the Drew League in 2018 and MVP in the Legacy Pro-am league in 2019.
