This year, Ol' Santa Claus is really catching it from (a)The Air Force; (b)Homeland Security; (c)the Subway System, and even (d)'Black Friday' Shoppers. It's enough to make the "Jolly One" just toss up his mitten'd hands and drop the "ELF" word on the world. Hey, if you think that Santa shouldn't be complaining in our current day and age, then go ELF yourself!! --------------------------------- I have been experimenting with my guitar and bass (and recording them into my computer) for over a year, when I made the instrumental for this during the summer. I couldn't find any lyrics, so I just let it sit. Then, of course, the post-Halloween "Christmas Rush" hit, so that gave me an idea. Almost 3 years prior, I released "EVIL KLAUZ", bringing Jolly Ol' St. Nick into our current economic times (yea, Santa's struggling too!). Of course, Santa's not really evil--it's just the world around him went wing-wang nuts: wars, bad economy, etc. So, even Santa had to do what he could to survive (even if it meant taking back all the presents he delivered so that he can SELL them and pay off HIS debts--Reindeer are very expensive!!). The "LYRICS" to "The 'ELF' Word" kinda serves as a sequel to the previous song. This time around, due to extremely heightened security, Santa's Sleigh is a FLIGHT RISK, and the Air Force tracks him with RADAR. If that's not enough, Homeland Security confiscates his bag of gifts at a checkpoint stop. And to add insult to injury, Santa has to take the crowded Metro, and gets pissed off when he discovers that folks have been X-Mas shopping since Halloween--thereby, almost rendering our Jolly Red Elf obsolete. Yup, our poor disgruntled Santa is now part of the ever-growing "99%". Can you blame him if wants to shout "Go 'ELF' Yourself!!"?! The saga of the Santa Claus Of Our Times continues. The Full-Version will be on the OSMOSIS Album, "All Up In MySpace!!" The song has a wild history behind it: It's originally an instrumental from mid-1985, but I had no lyrics to it, or any idea how to place this into a Lawrence Wise And The Cosmic Funk Orchestra cassette-album at the time, so it sat for 25 years. In 2006, I wrote the lyrics and recorded the vocals, and, using AUDACITY, shot the instrumental thru a noise filter (to erase a mountain of hiss). The result came out strangely sparse and gutter-funk sounding. And now, some 9 years after THAT, I shot the 2006 version of the song thru an echo/reverb filter (also AUDACITY), to create this final thumping funk sound. This "SINGLE" is only the First Part of a close-to 9-minute psychedelic funk jam.

Oh man! This track from "Funk And Circumstances" (SG-257444) was originally issued as a Cassette-Single (edited for length!) on January 1, 1992. I recorded it in 1990, but it found it's way on the Cassette-Album/CD in 1999. Like I said, the majority of that 1999 CD was done earlier--much earlier--in the decade. As for the song, it's in 2-parts: Part A is simply The Prelude, while Part B is The Song itself. Its about a guy and his girl getting caught on video doin'-the-do!! Being recorded in 1990, it was (practically) at the beginning of the Home Video Camcorder era (the huge VHS Cams!!!). The track really dates itself by mentioning "Cheers" and the classic Porno Tape Series "Blacks And Blondes". Check out OSMOSIS from a generation ago!!

Interesting history for most of the "Funk And Circumstances" (SG-257444) Cassette-Album from 1999-- ...most of the album was recorded around 1991-1992. Let's just say that "Life got in the way of the recording process", so most of the album sat. THIS TRACK was recorded in 1996. And there are at least 4-5 different takes. This is Take No.3--one of the two BEST versions (the other good one is a "solo vocal"). "GROOVE CONTROL"--that's simply LIFE on Cruise Control. Meaning: You do YOUR thing, I'll do MY thing / Don't push YOUR thang on MY life, I won't force MY thang on YOUR life...and, we'll get along just fine. You know-"Harmony", or something to that effect.

This is the 3rd cassette-single from "KZZURRAZZGDBI" (SG-271504), and just. Plain. Funky!!! It's about a Lion who really rules...with the funk!! "Jungle Groove" has a pumping beat and an insane vocal style. In other words, CLASSIC Cosmic Funk/OSMOSIS.

This is OSMOSIS from a full generation ago (1990, to be exact)!! This track is the 3rd cassette-single from the FIRST-NAMED "OSMOSIS" cassette-album, 1990's "The FCC Can't Run With Us!!" (SG-271423). This album was 6 Casio-powered tracks of pure hyper madness. And this song pulls NO PUNCHES. It's 500% PORNO!!! Structured like a 3-verse pop-rocker that would make Prince blush, "Pussy" features a weird falsetto harmonic chorus, as well as some evil screaming. Wow--what a difference more than 20 years makes: I can no longer reach those vocal highs. Compare 2009's "PREZ. Palin" to this early track is like comparing apples to oranges: both are nasty but one bites back!!

The FIRST single from "The FCC Can't Run With Us!!" (SG-271423), and the song which set the format for the OSMOSIS Sound during the 1990s. It's actually a revamped version of an unreleased track from (hold on to your knuts!!) 1985!! Same lyrics (with a slight update) and same basic groove (itself, updated). "LESBIAN TENDENCIES" is about those ladies who "LIKE the MEN, but LOVE the WOMEN; SLEEP with the BOY, but HUMPS the GIRL; KISSES her 'BROTHER', but 'SUCKS' her 'SISTER'. Get it?! While the average modern Bi-Sexual female (or male) would come right out and say so, these deceptive chicks in the song are on the real DOWN-LOW!! (It also doesn't help the dudes in the song that these "dykes"" are hot-looking, ultra-feminine babes--you know, 'Lipstick Lesbos'!!)

The FIRST NAMED "OSMOSIS" single, "Shake What You Got, 'Cause Some Others Got Less!!" (single version available at http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7844139), originally was part of a Lawrence Wise And The Cosmic Funk Orchestra cassette-album entitled "INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH" in September 1989 (available at http://www.soundclick.com/store/digital/01_Shop_Album.cfm?bandID=667984&albumID=16956). This track became the 2nd cassette-single from that album in January, 1990.... ....but the first-ever track ISSUED under the name "OSMOSIS". I did this because all thru the 1980s, my cassette-albums were mixed bags: there was prog rock-styled music suites some 15-20 minutes long, experimental instrumentals, and insane funky jams. It's THOSE "insane funky jams" which were the prototype for the OSMOSIS sound. And, they were usually singles. "Shake What You Got...." was one. Thus, Chapter Two began with this song. (And BOTH Projects, each distinctly different, continue to this day--in tandem.).
