“The Legion of Superheroes are coming soon.” We learned at New York ComicCon 2025 that Joshua Williamson will write a new Legion book. But what Legion? Mark Waid had previously said a new Legion book is coming, and fans will be happy no matter which version of the Legion is their favorite. When we saw the “Legion Lost” survivors in Superman 29, including a Threeboot Legionnaire, this got us talking.  Who might have survived?  What if they came from a bunch of Legions past?   Adam Crouch, from The Legion Outpost podcast, and I thought, “What fun it might be to play editor and pick our own Legion!” Michael from the Legion of Substitute Podcasters, Derek from Tomorrow’s Heroes Today and Dave from The Legion Outpost join us to represent a cross-section of fan opinions.  This veritable Legion of Legion Podcasters join together for a special crossover recruitment episode.  We recruit a version of all the Legionnaires who appeared in multiple versions and then a few each who are unique to their version.  We share our choices and our opinions. Which Legionnaires would you choose?

Derek’s turn to unjumble the names of the three Legionnaire teams.  The Retroboot founders and Superman head to the future to battle the Time Trapper.  The Brainiac 5’s head to the fortress of solitude with a hoard of Ranzz’s on their secret mission to bring back a former Legionnaire.  Polar Boy shows why he is the epitome of the Legion and retroboot Wildfire uses his brain while retroboot Dawnstar keeps him on the path.

Johns and Perez throw it all into this issue.  Three legions, super-villains galore, Kabooms galore and the Flash family.  Brent, Derek and Michael try to keep it all straight but end up getting confused anyhow.

Brainy sees what things would have been like if he’d never been born, and Andromeda finds a cosmic anomaly. The Subs finish their coverage of Legion of Super Heroes 100.

Using the sphere made up of the crystallized nexus of all earths from all parallel universes, Brainiac 5 , White Witch and Phantom Girl summon the Legions of three worlds to save their world from Superboy Prime and the Legion of Super-Villains.  Michael thankfully joins Derek and Brent to decipher the Perez double page spreads.  Trophy rooms, lantern rings, lightning rods, magic spells and sacrifice – this issue has it all (almost)!

While Paul Rages Against various Machines, we dive back to episode 46. We’ll meet Glorith and figure out if Beast Boy (Not him, the OTHER one) has gone bad!

Derek and Brent dive into the first issue of Final Crisis: Legion of Three Worlds.  Perez and John’s epic is revisited through a Threeboot lens.  Along with Superboy Prime they explore the 31st century Superman Museum and all enjoy the Easter eggs left, right and centre.

The Subs conclude Inferno’s miniseries and talk about Legion news of the past couple of weeks. All this, plus a round of This Week in Legion History.

It’s Canucksgiving, so we’re looking back at an episode from 15 years ago this week. Episode 105:   The Subs check out Legion of Super Heroes 303, and celebrate the return of the beautiful, but deadly Emerald Eye of Ekron, as well as its owner, the Emerald Empress. All this, and Supergirl shows us why Crisis 7 was such a big deal. As Sun Boy would say, “Mmrbl grrf grrmble!”

The Subs continue their coverage of issue 100, and discuss the Omega Act and the upcoming DC KO series. All this plus This Week in Legion History.

We look at what happened after Legion of Super-Heroes Volume 5, Issue 50.  Together with Michael from the LoSP we take a wander through Starman in the JSA, The Lightning Saga, Karate Kid and Una in Countdown to Final Crisis, Superman and the Legion of Super-heroes (Action Comics 858-863) Batman and the Legion of Super-heroes (Action Comics 864) plus the Legion appearance in DC Universe 0.   And it’s all leading to Final Crisis: Legion of Three Worlds … !
