Ep 07: Gearing Up For Christmas
Hello and welcome back to Lesser Known Works. So last week was a big week--well I suppose for us Americans. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with friends and family. As I’ve learned from Louisa May Alcott, our featured author from last season, it’s always a good idea to celebrate each and every holiday with the same enthusiasm as the next (mainly the same enthusiasm as Christmas). But speaking of Christmas, I have something planned for the month of December. I hope you’ll enjoy it as I’ll be changing things up a bit. So instead of reading a story, then dissecting it the following week, I thought I’d just douse you in Christmas stories. Thank you so much for being here! **** Stories and other things mentioned: Christmas Storms and Sunshine by Elizabeth Gaskell A Christmas Mistake by LM Montgomery Christmas at Thompson Hall by Anthony Trollope Dickens December Laura, Tara, and Jess How to support Lesser Known Works - Follow/subscribe - Share with a friend who you think would enjoy this story about unlikely friendships - Buy Me A Coffee - Leave a review I'd love to hear your thoughts, what you loved about the story, what made you laugh, what surprised you, what you didn't like, all of it. Ep 03 Reviewing A Hole in the Wall
Hello and how are you? I hope you're doing well and having a great summer! We are back discussing last week's audiobook, A Hole in the Wall by Louisa May Alcott. If you couldn't tell by the end of today's episode, I LOVED THIS STORY SO MUCH. I really want there to be more to their story. I want to see Fay and Johnny grown and still loving one another as they did when they were younger. Much of their interaction reminded me a bit of The Secret Garden Dickon and Mary and their dreamy garden. I hope you enjoyed the story as much (or at least close to) as me. Ep 09: The Letters Reviewed | Letter Writing Tutorial
Hello and good morning :) Welcome back to Lesser Known Works. It’s nearly summer and I can’t believe it. Do you have any epic summer plans coming up??? So we have a pretty big one. Bryan and I are actually having a baby this summer. It’s pretty epic. Later this summer. And man I’m feeling the heat of late spring already. This episode also includes a poem inspired by The Letters written by Elizabeth Welte. She is a creative, a nature lover, and LOTR's fan. You can find more of her work on her blog, Still Life Books, but be sure to check out her jewelry line with Bumble Blooms. It was so wonderful collaborating with her on this project - such a lovely story The Letters accompanied by the perfect parallel Isobel. Thank you so much for an amazing first season!
