How to be an Antiracist
Send us Fan MailIn this episode Laura shares some facts on systemic racism and examples in which it still exists in society, today in 2023. She details some injustices she has personally faced, and then gives listeners 5 ways in which you can take actionable steps to become an antiracist yourself. It's not good enough to say "I'm not racist" we need to understand our own biases, and work to change the narrative to fight against racism by being antiracist. It is recommended you follow up this listening with some antiracist work of your own by learning how in your community, family, work, etc. racism is prevailing today, and brainstorm ways in which you may work to become antiracist. Being antiracist is a conscious decision to make frequent, consistent, equitable choices day to day. These choices require ongoing self-awareness and self-reflection as we move through life. Dr. Ibram Kendi writes: “[We must] believe in the possibility that we can strive to be antiracist from this day forward."Support the show
