Send us Fan MailWelcome back after our summer hiatus! We discuss all things cabin-y and Emily's recent adventure at the family cabin where she had to save her mother's life. We eventually get around to talking about the episode but since it was all about baseball it didn't really hold our attention. In this episode Pa and the rest of the Walnut Grove minor league baseball players need to find a new pitcher since they are going up against the Sleepy Eye Green Stockings and Slick McBirney who is a sleazy huckster with a handlebar mustache and a gold chain. Mr. Edwards fashions himself a baseball mitt using a flour sack and some meat jerky and Nels shows a little athleticism. Email us your remembrances and thoughts to [email protected] and remember to like us on Facebook!

    S2 E3 Ebenezer Sprague

Send us Fan MailA wealthy man moves to Walnut Grove and his name is Ebenezer (or as the young folks spell it, Y'Bneezyr. And with a name like that you know what kind of person he is. ) All Laura wants is a best friend in the form of an angry 65 year old man who fishes and she gets it, kinda. Pa needs a bank loan despite the fact he's always preached cash on the barrel, but he supposes it's high time he join the rest of America and wants to take out a loan. Meanwhile, Ma is worried that the school children don't have textbooks to read and since this is America and the American education system, it is up to the teacher and the parents to provide for their children. Some things never change.Sarah and Emily also  discuss how we will know who really killed Jon'Benet Ramsey and their thoughts on the Karen Read verdict. Remember to like and subscribe, give us a 5 star rating and if you hate us, keep it to yourself. 10. 28

    S2 E2 Four Eyes

Send us Fan MailIt's the beginning of the end for Mary as everyone but her realizes she can't see a damn thing on the chalkboard at school. She gets to pick out a stylish pair of glasses from Shopko Optical in Mankato, but will she wear them? It depends. Will she still be able to find a beau if she has Four Eyes? Also, the children of Walnut Grove gang up on Mary and come up with the weakest attempts at bullying and can literally come top with no better insult than calling her Four Eyes.Sarah and Emily discuss the demise of their childhood toilet and all the writing it inspired and also consider putting Swaz in HR on a PIP but ultimately decide not to since that might just be what Swaz wants.Don't forget to like and subscribe and email us your remembrances at [email protected] and like our show page on Facebook. If you're an international listener let us know where you're from and how you learned of Little House! S2 E1 The Richest Man in Walnut Grove

Send us Fan MailThe sisters are back with season 2! We made it through the first season and are moving on to season 2 with a classic episode that features the Ingalls family employing child labor in order to pay off Pa's debts. A construction company in Mankato goes belly up and Pa is unable to pay off his credit at the Mercantile, Harriet is a real b-word about it but eventually the whole family comes together to save the day. Sarah and Emily also talk about how they are reaching the farthest corners of the world and have a listener in Edinburgh, Scotland! Let us know if you too are an international listener or just a plain old national listener at [email protected] and don't forget to like our show page on Facebook too!

  12. 26

    S1 E27 Founders Day

Send us Fan MailThe Squid Games come to Walnut Grove for this last episode of the season! Sarah and Emily reminisce over town days and school fairs and Emily comes up with a great idea called "Mother Carnies," (if you'd like to be one please contact her.) Walnut Grove has their very first town celebration and Pa is up against an elderly gent who trash talks him the entire episode and challenges him to a chopping contest. Will Pa take the high road? Also, we learn what hoop balling is, talk about cheese curds and the time my young niece was given a pocket knife at the Blue Earth County Fair.Remember to like and subscribe, give us a 5 star rating and like our Facebook page as well! 13. 25

S1 E26 To See the World

Send us Fan MailAn old friend shows up and is about as exciting and welcome as a case of Montezuma's Revenge... good ol' Johnny Johnson! Johnny decided he's going to see the world, but first stop, Mankato! He falls in love with a lady of the evening and Mr. Edwards takes it upon himself to teach the lad a lesson. Not much from the Ingalls girls this episode, so they must have been on Spring Break. But, there's a lot of Mr. Edwards so don't worry! Remember to like, subscribe and join our Facebook page. Email you grievances and remembrances to Swaz in HR at [email protected]

  14. 24

    S1 E25 Survival

Send us Fan MailJoin Sarah and Emily and special guest star Annie as they discuss this episode where the Ingalls get "woke!" Ma, Pa and the girls are stranded near Mount Kato during a Spring snowstorm. With nothing to eat but old cornmeal and horses, they are on the brink of starvation when a mysterious stranger comes to save them, despite the fact that he is being hunted himself! CW: this episode uses outdated language and racial themes and we tried our very hardest to not sound like total priveleged jerks while talking about this. There is talk about the US-Dakota War of 1862 and the Dakota 38+2. We urge you to learn more about these themes below: What was the US- Dakota War? https://www.mnhs.org/fortsnelling/learn/us-dakota-warThe Dakota 38+2 Memorial Ride is now the Reconciliation Ride and you can find more info here: https://reconciliationride.com/Here is the drone footage from Tik Tok of the ride: https://www.tiktok.com/@aerialimagerymedia/video/7452824569007754542

  15. 23

    S1 E24 Money Crop

Send us Fan MailNOTE: Emily and Sarah did NOT do the episode we were supposed to this week and are choosing to skip it. That episode is called Child of Pain and deals with child abuse. If you want to watch it this week, go ahead, BUT DON'T TELL THEM ABOUT IT!  There's only so much they can handle right now. A new scammer and schemer comes into Walnut Grove... or is he? This episode Sarah and Emily go down a lot of rabbit holes and discuss befriending crows, colonoscopies and wanting to just take a powder that will make you sleep for a good 8-10 hours straight. They also discuss how the residents of Walnut Grove would eb ripe for the pickin' to join any old MLM or pyramid scheme to come down the pike and they are jsut lucky this time it's corn seeds and not buttery soft leggings from LuLaRoe.Remember to like and subscribe, find us on Facebook, give us a review and email Swaz in HR at [email protected] with all of your remembrances!

  16. 22

    S1 E23 Circus Man

Send us Fan MailSo much grooming! More grooming happens on the Prairie as the worst circus ever comes into town. Pa is too trusting and falls for the tricks of a leprechaun who tells people not only is his sad wagon an actual circus, but he can heal people with a secret powder! Emily remembers a pet store from her childhood that had a monkey in a diaper, but we have no evidence it existed outside her brain. We also discuss an alternate ending for this episode which doesn't involve Jack and a tabby cat. Remember to like and subscribe! Send us emails to [email protected] and follow us on Facebook!

  17. 21

S1 E22 The Plague (Now With More Rats!)

Send us Fan MailThis week we revisit one of Emily's favorite episodes; The Plague! The town of Walnut Grove is besieged by rats and bad cornmeal and suddenly everyone gets sick! But how did this happen? It most certainly could not be from the super cheap sacks of cornmeal with an unknown provenance! The very sacks of cornmeal crawling with rats! We discuss how gifts with purchases would be better if they included your choice of rats, how Emily's middle son figured out their neighborhood's pizza night schedule and how Mike Landon must have had a "body carry" count for every episode. Like and join our dedicated Facebook page and keep those emails coming to Swaz in HR at [email protected]

  18. 20

    S1 E21: Doctor's Lady

Send us Fan MailIn this episode a grifter comes to town in the form of a sexy lady that looks a lot like Harriet. Hiram Baker falls in love and has a whirlwind romance. Emily declares she has HAD IT with predators and also divulges the name she gave her kitten (spolier alert: it's stupid and doesn't make any sense.) Michael ("Mike") Landon was clearly off this week for filming and all eyes are on Doc Baker. Pa still manages to get a heroic rescue into the fist five minutes though! Make sure to follow our Facebook page, like and subscribe and email us any of your remembrances to [email protected]

  19. 19

    S1 E20 Family Quarrel

Send us Fan MailIn this episiode we get a little peek into the homelife of Nels and Harriet as they contemplate divorce, an issue I am sure many children in the 1970s were having to grapple with. Nels suddenly becomes an expert fisherman and Harriet resorts to violence with eggs when pushed too far! Doc Baker doesn't mind his own beeswax and comes up with a cockamamie plan noone really follows through on.Sarah and Emily also discuss the origin of "tell me longer," the elite status of Pepperidge Farms and Emily admits she thought our neighbor girl was a down and out drunk at age 11 for drinking root beer.Shoutout to Janette from CA! And if you would like a shoutout or would like to air your remembrances or grievances, email us at [email protected] and follow the show on Facebook!

  20. 18

*ANOTHER Special Christmas Episode: The Christmas They Never Forgot

Send us Fan MailEmily forces Sarah to watch another Christmas episode during teh holiday season. This one is a bit of a mixed bag with some remembrances from Ma, Manly and Hester Sue. Laps are sat upon, a kid plays dead and an unbelievable snowstorm strands everyone at the Ingalls' cabin which has now turned into a snowy grave! Make sure to like ansd subscribe, follow our page on Facebook and send all of your grievances to Swaz in HR at [email protected]

  21. 17

    Special All Sisters Episode: Blizzard!

Send us Fan MailThis is a very special holiday episode of Little House on the Prairie! Emily picks the wrong episode and we all end up watching the most depressing, feel-bad Christmas episode ever where children get drunk, suffer frost bite and Nels' inventory count of the mercantile suffers a devastating blow. Swaz from HR joins us and she spreads her good cheer and great attitude as she discusses the show she hates the most (this one, thanks to her older sisters.) We also reminisce about times gone by and growing up in the 80s and after school snacks. Make sure to like and subscribe, follow our Facebook Page, "Little House on the Prairie with Sisters" and email any grievances to Swaz in HR at [email protected]

  22. 16

S1 E15 Christmas at Plum Creek

Send us Fan MailIt's Christmas time in Walnut Grove so it's time for green grass, trees with leaves and glaring plot holes! We don't care though because it is a classic feel-good episode, (even though there's no Mr. Edwards.) Ma wants a stove, Pa suddenly knows how to fix wagon wheels, half pint makes a difficult decision no adult should have let her make and we get a glimpse of the Mercantile in all of its holiday splendor! Make sure to like and follow our Facebook page Little Podcast on the Prairie with Sisters, like and subscribe to the podcast and send all of your griveances and remembrances to Swaz in HR at [email protected]

  23. 15

S1 E14 Part 2 The Lord Is My Shepherd

Send us Fan MailTW: This episode continues to discuss infant death. Avoid it if this is a sensitive subject to you and we will see you next time! In this episode Em and Sarah discuss cheese, who loves it, who doesn't, who's fascinated by it and who is going to get spoiled at Grandma's with a custom charcuterie board! We also reminisce about growing up in the 80s when people let their kids jsut walk home on Kidnapper's Alley and we also talk about Ernest Borgnine. (Whos IS he?? We still don't know but he definitely looks like an Ernest and doesn't seem to set off any groomer flags for Laura!)Remember to like and subscribe, email Swaz in HR at [email protected] and like our Facebook page!

  24. 14

S1 E14 Part 1 The Lord Is My Shepherd

Send us Fan MailTrigger Warning: This episode talks about infant loss. If this is a trigger for you, we'll see you back here for episode 15! In this episode Ma and Pa have their very first baby; a baby named Charles Ingalls Jr. They forget they already have 3 other kids at home and place all their attention on this new baby which Laura does NOT appreciate! Sarah and Emily talk about the miracle of childbirth and reminisce about seeing Swaz in HR's disgusting belly button. We also talk about penny candy and the origins of licorice. It's a wild ride! Email us your remembrances and observations to [email protected] and join our Facebook page Little Podcast on teh Prairie with Sisters! Send us pics of your own house bells and bonnets!

  25. 13

S1 E13 The Award: a Real Barn Burner of an Episode!

Send us Fan MailIn this episode Sarah and Emily get a little off track because the entire episode revolves around a test and winning a dumb history book. We find out the biggest FU a kid can give Ma is studying really, really hard for a test that isn't even required, working an after school job no one asked you to do, AND keep up with your chores and regular schoolwork. We also learn Pa went on some mysterious trip to Mankato but all the townspeople seem to be covering for Pa and making sure Ma knows they saw him.....just 40 miles away in New Ulm. Also, is Little Caesar's your guilty pleasure? Do you remember garbage pizzas? Let us know by emailing Swaz in HR at [email protected] Make sure to like and subscribe!

  26. 12

S1 E12 The Voice of Tinker Jones

Send us Fan MailIn this episode we finally learn what cow bells are for as we witness all the children in Walnut Grove become thieves of tin and metal. We learn that the only thing Walnut Grove has needed during this time is NOT running water or even electricity, but a fancy new bell! We also talk about the Lebanese families that helped settle Mankato. If you would like to read more about how Mankato is what it is today because of Lebanese immigrants, you can read more here: https://blueearthcountyhistory.com/2021/08/04/lebanese-immigration-to-mankato/ and here: https://blueearthcountyhistory.com/2019/05/04/tinkcomville-was-once-a-well-known-place-in-mankato/If you have any questions, remembrances or constructive criticism, email Swaz in HR at [email protected]

  27. 11

    S1 E11 The Raccoon

Send us Fan MailSarah and Emily revisit a potentially triggering episode for raccoon owners. Mary finds an orphaned raccoon and gives it to Laura who teaches it adorable tricks and how to eat eggs. The whole thing goes predictably downhill as one would imagine when you let a raccoon into your prairie home. There's very little of Carrie this episode but a LOT of talk about rabies. Emily calls Sarah out on the carpet for being a cold hearted b****, which isn't NOT true........Remember to like and subscribe, rate us 5 stars and if you have things for your remembrance book, due diligence or concerns for Swaz in HR, email us at [email protected]

  28. 10

    S1 E10 School Mom

Send us Fan MailMa comes out of retirement and steps in for Miss Beadle who suffers a workplace injury and tries to add more to her mental load by teaching an entire school. Emily and Sarah discuss whether kids really ever did bring apples to their teachers at school and discuss how many favors Michael Landon owed his former Bonanza co-stars. Make sure to email us your remembrances, your thoughts and prayers by emailing us at [email protected]

  29. 9

    S1 E9 Ma's Holiday (Bringing Bonnets Back)

Send us Fan MailIn this episode of the docuseries, Pa has a grand plan to make Ma stop being such a wet dishrag and have some fun by going to the Cancun of MN... Mankato! Ma and Pa eat a fancy meal, see a suspect play, and just have a terrible time because Ma cannot forget she has children 82 miles away. Meanwhile, the gals back home have the time of their lives with Mr. Edwards, eat rattlesnake soup and learn a valuable lesson about locking up firearms. Trigger warning: this episode contains some cultural stereotypes that some may find offensive, but this was 1974. We apologize on behalf of Mr. Edwards. Now that he knows better, he does better.SPECIAL BONUS CONTENT: listen after the close of the show for special bonus content amongst all 3 sisters.

  30. 8

S1 E8, Town Party, Country Party

Send us Fan MailIn this episode Sarah explains the phantom whistling in last week's pod and all the paranormal things that have happened in her home. Sarah and Emily discuss yet ANOTHER foot focused episode and are introduced to one of Kim Richards's earliest roles which happen to be that of a child with a limb difference. Pa does some light blacksmithing, Laura is an amateur marine biologist in the hills of Western Minnesota and Carrie is actually cute this episode.Don't forget to like, subscribe and email us at [email protected]

  31. 7

S1E7 If I Should Wake Before I Die..... Paranormal Edition!

Send us Fan MailIn this episode two old ladies with very Millennial names die, or kind of die, with the help of Ma and Pa and the Ingalls family. Irish accents come and go, kids peel eggs in a grotesque way and Sarah and Emily get triggered by the use of an autoharp in the episode. But more importantly, make sure you listen all the to the end, starting at the 37:00 minute mark. You can hear ghostly whistling that Sarah's mic captured. Backstory on the whistling: (Sarah's account) When Em and I were recording last week I heard my husband Jeff whistling in the kitchen while we were actively recording. I was so irritated because I thought he was trying to be funny while we were recording and I was going to tell him off the minute we stopped because it was so distracting. When we were done, I marched into the kitchen to find he wasn't home. I checked my "find my friends" app on my phone and saw he was about 7 miles away at a friend's house helping to unload BBQ equipment and was not home. It was just me and the cats. Take a listen, what do you hear? NEW EMAIL ADDRESS: Let us know your thoughts about the episode or about the show! Email us at [email protected] . This account is managed by our sister Swaz.

  32. 6

S1E6 The Love of Johnny Johnson

Send us Fan MailThis episode is a big YIKES as Laura gets groomed by an older boy, (well actually, she grooms herself.) There are some problematic themes in this episode but Sarah and Emily work through them. They also discuss Emily's youngest child who frightens them both the most.

  33. 5

    S1E5 Mr. Edwards' Homecoming

Send us Fan MailIn this episode Sarah and Emily discover that Mr. Edwards is the originator of the original Stanley mug! (Except it was a clay jug he found at the sawmill.) Sarah gets grossed out by watching kids eat, Emily realizes Edwards was a feminist before his time and we get to see the fanciest town of them all..... Mankato! Royalty free music provided Uppside

  34. 4

    S1 E4 The 100 Mile Walk

Send us Fan MailThis week Pa takes a long walk to go visit Sarah in Mankato. Emily and Sarah discuss Pa's journey as he meets a hunky Swede and explores a new relationship with him, learns how to be a drill jack and watches a new friend explode to bits. This is one of the goriest episodes Little House has to offer so strap on your floppy soled boots, make a pot of Dinty Moore stew and buckle in for a wild ride!

  35. 3

    S1E3 Country Girls

Send us Fan MailIn this episode Sarah and Emily reminisce about their childhood field trips to the Cahill school, Angel Face Barbie and meet Nellie Olesen for the first time. Laura learns to read and kinda write, Ma begins her years long feud with Harriet and Pa doesn't really do much in this episode. Remember to like and subscribe! Music provided royalty free from Uppside,

  36. 2

    S1 E2 A Harvest of Friends

Send us Fan MailSarah and Emily discuss the second episode of the series in which Pa makes a tragic mistake and almost sends the family into ruination, we meet the Olesons, briefly, talk about gorgeous oxen, bulldogs with obstructive sleep apnea and ask the age old question "How IS Baby Jessica doing these days?" Hold onto your bonnets! It's going to be a bumpy ride! *audio quality is getting slightly better but don't worry, it should be MUCH better next time! Remember, we are just two sisters on the prairie trying our best.Music provided royalty free from Uppside

  37. 1

    Wolves! Pa! Mr Edwards!

Send us Fan MailSarah and Emily discuss the very first episode that really should have been made into 4 separate episodes. The Ingalls set up their home in Kansas, (NOT Minnesota,) and endure a year of hardship including being stalked by wolves and white people wearing a lot of bronzer. We cry because we thought Jack died, Michael Landon shows off his luxurious locks and Mary and Carrie may as well not have been in the episode because all eyes are on Half Pint. Music provided royalty free from Uppbeat, New Life by Moire
