This episode is a reflection on the slow, intentional moments we shared: a Mother's Day brunch prepared by a Mennonite community, kids bottle-feeding lambs, conversations about food, purpose, and presence. Give the Dog A Bone: Making Meditation Doable with the 4:7:8 Breath
Just "breathe" right? That's what I have heard hundreds of times from meditation teachers and groups. But it's not that easy for a busy-minded person to sit and do nothing for more than a few moments. Here's a technique that might help. The 4-7-8 breath was popularized by Dr. Andrew Weil, but it is not new. It's modeled after Pranayama breathing found in yoga. Weil's take makes idiot-proof and practical. Try it! At the end of this short episode, we will do a 4-7-8 breath meditation together so you can sample it.
